Edge of Play, formed in late 2017, is an online coaching resource, providing football coaches with hundreds of football coaching videos from the grassroots and professional game. Our website is subscription based and features videos from grassroots coaches, elite level clubs, academies and professional players all sharing exciting ideas and insights. The site allows you to link in with your social media profiles to share content with peers, clubs and players. Our vision is to build a global, inclusive, online community of coaches: learning, interacting and creating, together. It is through our work with our clubs, that we have become acutely aware of the challenges facing amateur, semi-pro and even professional coaches. We know that in coaching (like most other jobs) people are always looking for new content to ensure their players remain in love with the game; to keep them engaged, learning, developing, and most importantly having fun. However, we are also aware that not everyone has the same circumstances, opportunities, or environment in which to coach. Therefore we are to provide the best service for the lowest cost!  Richard Brookshaw is a highly skilled dental implant surgeon. He has placed more than 5000 implants and is one of only a handful of implant surgeons nationwide who can carry out implant surgery in patients with extreme bone loss, using specifically designed zygomatic implants. Richard is both nationally and internationally respected as a lecturer and mentor in Implant Dentistry, immediate same day implants and CT scanning & planning for implant surgery. He also lectures for Nobel Biocare nationally and internationally on a range of advanced implant techniques and is a regular lecturer and contributor to their World Tour. Richard exclusively practices all aspects of implant dentistry, including hard and soft tissue augmentation, sinus grafting and same day implants. He first qualified in 1996 from the University of Dundee. Then in 1999 he gained his Masters degree in Oral Surgery from the University of Sheffield and further extended his clinical qualification in 2001 by completing an 18 month Implant Training Programme. In 2009, he attained a highest honours award in the one year implant master program from University of California Los Angeles/ Gide program. Richard was also one of the first six in the UK to gain The Diploma in Implant Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh at its first sitting. From a tiny enterprise in a spare bedroom to the largest independent first aid training provider in the UK, get to know imperative training... Humble beginnings In the third bedroom of David and Rachael Howarth's first home is where imperative training truly began in 2003. But instead of the 20 full-time staff and 200+ nationwide trainers we have today, there was just one first aid trainer in the company - and this was David! (But you can call him Dave). With a goal to become the number one first aid training company in the UK, Dave and Rachael focused on filling their freelance training diary to first begin establishing imperative training's own customer base. It was this which laid the foundation for Dave to develop the dynamic, fun and unique training style we still proudly deliver to this day. From day one, Dave and Rachael strived to work with blue chip organisations, knowing that these businesses would share the same values and goals as the growing imperative brand. Despite a challenging economic climate, Dave and Rachael were able to build a successful business and in 2005 were thrilled to welcome House of Fraser as their first major client, who still to this day chooses to work with imperative training. Nationwide Trainers, Accreditations and More... Since 2006 imperative training has gone from strength to strength, welcoming a large team of nationwide trainers to teach our courses and hiring a Trainer Manager to ensure the delivery of each session is the same high-quality and engaging experience as when Dave first began the company. Fast-forward to 2011 where we launched our websites, featuring our suite of online health and safety courses including Food Safety, Manual Handling and AED Training as well as being a hub for our exclusive first aid tips and informative blog articles. Since establishing ourselves in the training world, we've welcomed big brand names to our customer base and have continued to build strong business relations with them to this day! So far we've worked with clients such as Starbucks, Sainsbury's, Costco, Kidsunlimited, Selfridges and Radisson Edwardian Blu Hotels and look forward to building relationships with more companies as we continue to expand and grow. In October 2013, the HSE dropped approval for first aid and training companies, leaving us to choose between continuing to provide our training courses with no approval or become an accredited provider. For us, this decision was a no-brainer; of course we wanted to be able to provide accredited courses to our clients! And so we became a Diamond Approved Centre of TQUK, this means all of our training is of the highest quality and we can proudly provide nationally recognised qualifications to our learners. Going Above and Beyond Since first becoming established as a company in 2003, imperative training has gone above and beyond not only in the first-class training is provides, but in its determination to develop, grow and constantly come out on top against any other organisation. As we first began to become known in the training world, we created our very own set of company PILOT values which we strive to embody in every aspect of work we do, these are Passionate, Integrity, Learning, Ownership and Team Work. These values provide a clear insight to how we work as a company; one which cares not only about the high standards that we regularly deliver, but how as a small company we can take on a big business mindset in order to achieve our goals and also the care we take towards the well-being of our own team which has helped build the success of the brand. James Tighe (a then blue belt) started the brand with his close friends and family, all of whom a decade later are still part of the company. Lighthouse Literacy Academy was created to meet the growing needs of San Diego’s East County families who are searching for a wonderful alternative to public school. We are a group of parents and educators with children between grades Transitional Kindergarten and 9th grade. We ourselves grew up in East County attending different elementary, Jr high and High schools around the community. We come with various backgrounds from college degrees to countless ECE classes. Some of us have a background in preschool education, some in homeschooling and some in primary education. Lighthouse Literacy Academy is a Christian school where children will experience God’s love in our morning Bible time and weekly chapel as well as throughout the week as we learn to love God and each other just as God commands us. We believe learning success is rooted in strong literacy. We believe that literacy is the foundation for all learning success, from the primary years, all through college and all of life. We believe a solid ability to read well gives tremendously to whether or not an individual will thrive throughout their lives. We believe that when a Pre-K student reads sight words or a Kindergartener reads 3-7 word sentences, when a first or second grader is reading full books they are paving their way to a bright future. At Lighthouse Literacy Academy each and every child will be a successful reader whether at grade level or beyond. When at Lighthouse Literacy Academy, a child has reached her or his grade level expectations we don't sit back and celebrate, we celebrate and begin the journey of even further progress, motivating, facilitating and supporting each and every child right where they are individually. Tim will drive strategy, coordination, integration, and effectiveness of MENTOR’s teams focused in the areas of training and technical assistance; product design, development and ongoing usage; field research and evaluation; strategic partnerships and systems innovation; and Affiliate partnership, support, effectiveness, sustainability, and expansion. MENTOR CEO David Shapiro says, “We are so fortunate Tim is bringing his decades of experience as an advocate for youth, an innovator, a communicator, and local leader in one of the nation’s oldest and most expansive youth development organizations to our team and the mentoring movement. His personal and professional journey, commitment to supporting others’ development, community building talent, and deep commitment to young people will be such key drivers in our expanded and dynamic efforts to ensure all young people have the relationships they need to strive and thrive.” A native of Ferguson, Mo., Tim holds a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. As a college student, he developed his passion for youth by covering human interest stories as on-air talent for his college television and radio stations which led to a 17-year career in youth development, including at the Boys & Girls Clubs in Chicago, the District of Columbia, and Harford County, Md. In 2016, because of his extensive experience in organizational transformation and increasing club membership, quality improvement, innovative programming and funding, Tim was named the CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of South Alabama. In this role over the last six years, Tim led twelve year-round sites, three summer only programs, a 150-acre campground, and POINTE Academy, a school for detained and adjudicated youth. He’s received several honors and awards, including Boys & Girls Clubs Professional of the Year for his leadership, Mobile Bay 40 Under 40, and Benjamin Mays Excellence in Mentoring Award. Tim is an active member of the Lion’s Club and a member of the board of directors for Voices for Alabama’s Children and Linking All So Others Succeed (LASOS) in Maryland. He’s completed executive-level training in leadership, non-profit management, and advanced philanthropy from Harvard Business School, Stanford University, and Boys & Girls Clubs of America. For 12 years, Tim has been a single foster parent and has fostered 20 children. He also has spent significant time teaching in VolunTourism trips to Haiti. “I’m thrilled to join the MENTOR community to continue the work of elevating the voices of young people across our country,” said Tim. “This new role will further deepen our ability to impact systematic change in order to open doors of opportunity and to close the mentoring gap.
