<p>Your course leader is a skilled and accomplished professional with over 25 years of extensive C-level experience in the energy markets worldwide. He has strong expertise in all the aspects of (energy) commodity markets, international sales, marketing of services, derivatives trading, staff training and risk management within dynamic and high-pressure environments.</p>
<p>He received a Master's degree in Law from the University of Utrecht in 1987. He started his career at the NLKKAS, the Clearing House of the Commodity Futures Exchange in Amsterdam. After working for the NLKKAS for five years, he was appointed as Member of the Management Board of the Agricultural Futures Exchange (ATA) in Amsterdam at the age of 31. While working for the Clearing House and exchange, he became an expert in all the aspects of trading and risk management of commodities.</p>
<p>In 1997, he founded his own specialist-consulting firm that provides strategic advice about (energy) commodity markets, trading and risk management.</p>
<p>He has advised government agencies such as the European Commission, investment banks, major utilities, and commodity trading companies and various energy exchanges and market places in Europe, CEE countries, North America and Asia. Some of the issues he has advised on are the development and implementation of a Risk Management Framework, investment strategies, trading and hedging strategies, initiation of Power Exchanges (APX) and other trading platforms, the set-up of (OTC) Clearing facilities, and feasibility and market studies like for the Oil, LNG and the Carbon Market. The latest additions are (Corporate) PPAs and Artificial Intelligence for energy firms.</p>

His current work is focused on a variety of use cases like failure prediction, virtual flow rate determination, wellhead integrity surveillance, corrosion, equipment maintenance, DTS/DAS interpretation. He has worked for national oil companies, majors, independents, and service providers globally. He has multiple patents and has delivered a multitude of industry presentations. Twice selected as an SPE distinguished lecturer, he also volunteers on SPE committees. He holds an MSc in Drilling Engineering from The Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen and has over 39 years of oilfield experience. He started in the industry back in 1977 as a Mud logger before becoming a wellsite drilling engineer in 1980 working mainly in the Middle East and West Africa. In 1988, he joined Shell in in the Southern North Sea. In 1995, he joined Smedvig in Norway and worked on a number of deepwater wells as well as on underbalanced drilling operations. In 1999, he started Leading Edge Advantage in Aberdeen and worked in coiled tubing, underbalanced and managed pressure drilling. In 2004, he joined Weatherford as Regional Engineering Manager in Singapore and developed the first ultra deepwater MPD systems. In 2010, he joined SPT Group specializing in well control and hydraulics modelling. SPT Group was later acquired by Schlumberger in 2012. At Schlumberger, he was Drilling Adviser, with a focus on well control, relief well planning and MPD. During that time, he was also an instructor for NExT teaching numerous well engineering courses. In 2015, he joined Wild Well as Engineering Manager in Asia and in February 2017, he became an independent consultant concentrating on provision of drilling engineering training. He has written and presented numerous papers and authored several chapters in the SPE Advanced Technology books. He is an active committee member and speaker on numerous SPE Workshops around the world.</p>

<p>The VILT course is intended for <strong>experienced reservoir engineers with prior technical or engineering exposure to production activities. </strong>Petroleum engineers and geoscientists who require more than general knowledge of reservoir engineering will also find this course useful.</p>
<p><strong>Participants are invited but not obliged to bring a short presentation (max of 15 minutes) on a practical problem they encountered in their work. This will then be explained and discussed in the VILT class. A short test or quiz will be held at the end the VILT course.</strong></p>

He provides project consultancy, quality assurance and reservoir engineering training for major oil companies, governments, engineering firms and other global customers. Before he retired from Shell in 2012, he held positions as Senior Reserves Consultant for the Middle East and Reservoir Engineering Discipline Lead. He is a petroleum engineering professional, with global experience, mostly in Shell companies and joint ventures (NAM, SSB, SCL, PDO, SKDBV). He has been involved in reserves and resource management, has extensive reservoir modelling and reservoir simulation expertise, and wide experience in the design and delivery of training programmes for employee development.</p>

After 25 years working across the board in blue-chip, non-profit and civil service organisations she now provides support to businesses looking to evolve and become great places for people to work in and with. 
Having worked with a wide variety of clients from school-age students to senior executives, she has been designing and running workshops, seminars and classes in person or via web events since she left long commutes and corporate roles behind in 2014 when she created her first two businesses. Her passion is in improving working relationships between roles and functions, supporting people to discover how to be their best selves at work. She does this in the auto-motive industry, financial services, medical teams, charities, global media, retail, education systems and the arts.

After being on the brink of burnout myself, I stumbled upon simple, yet life-changing self-help and relaxation tools. These quick, effective techniques helped me rebuild my resilience, reclaim my sense of self and navigate challenges with renewed strength. The transformation was so profound that I knew I had to share it with others—and that’s how The SHARE Project was born.
What is The SHARE Project?
The SHARE Project is built on a simple principle: you need to put your own oxygen mask on first!  By nurturing yourself, you’re better equipped to support your children. Through our four-week, live online workshop series, delivered via Zoom, you’ll discover practical tools to bring more calm and happiness into your daily life.
Here’s what you can expect:
Weekly Workshops:  Each week, we’ll introduce and practice a new tool designed to fit seamlessly into your life (just a few minutes a day, I promise!). These are not your typical “luxury spa day” suggestions — because let’s face it, who has time for that?  Instead, you’ll learn sustainable, go-to strategies that you can use anytime, anywhere, to boost your wellbeing, even in the midst of chaos.  You will also receive a mid-week email of encouragement between workshops and printables to help record and track your progress.
Ongoing Support:  In each session, we’ll review your progress, fine-tune your approach, and introduce the next tool.  This isn’t just a one-off workshop; it’s a journey of growth and connection.
Community Connection: You’ll be part of a supportive group of fellow SEN parents and carers who understand the unique challenges you face.  Together, we’ll share experiences, uplift each other, and grow stronger.
