The Primary Care and Community Neurology Society which is also the Person-Centred Neurosciences Society is a growing organisation of likeminded healthcare professionals, and partnering organisations including companies and charities who all share a desire to drive up the standard of services to improve neurology care across primary care and the wider neurology community P-CNS has become the leading voice to support the connecting up of neurology care between Primary Care and the wider neurology community, which includes both heath professionals and non health professionals living with neurological conditions. Our Vision The P-CNS’s vision, which acknowledges the significance of learning through lived experiences, is to provide sustainable, consistent, and high-quality care and education services that consider and support the individual needs of the person so they can live well in the community with suspected or confirmed neurological conditions. Our Mission The P-CNS’s mission is to: To support our vision we believe our mission is to encourage and: Empower patients, practitioners, and industry partners by promoting engagement in an active community where all voices matter. Support the co-creation, provision, and signposting of high-quality education and information services to enhance the delivery of care to people with neurological conditions. Stimulate and develop inclusive and meaningful communication amongst all members of the neurology community. Value the personal narratives of all people – both patients and practitioners – who live with suspected or confirmed neurological / psychiatric / neurodevelopmental conditions. Support improved access to more community- and online-based neurology services. Educate health professionals on the importance of their language during patient interactions, to enable patients to make fully informed decisions about their neurological treatment. Promote a patient-practitioner partnership that enhances trust and allows patients to express their needs and expectations. Give patients within the neurology community the ability to express themselves by sharing their experiences with society members.

The Custom House and Canning Town Community Renewal Project … is a charity established in 1994 and is based in the refurbished old St Luke’s Church building in Canning Town. Our mission is to develop and manage self-sustaining local groups, community-controlled assets and a range of activities and enterprises for the benefit of the local people. The Charity obtained St. Luke’s for a peppercorn and organised a £2.25 million refurbishment which created 4 floors of spacious offices and amenities. Rent from the offices and the Abrahams nursery building makes the Charity self sustaining and provides a regular if modest sum for charitable activities. The Charity is governed almost entirely by local people. At the end of 2021 the following were members of the Management Committee:- Sarah Ruiz Forest Gate Janet Moffatt Canning Town Frank Rosillo-Calle Canning Town Lorraine Starke Canning Town Freda Ayres Canning Town Amala Corera Epping Adrian Hodgson Custom House Elizabeth Booker Canning Town Structure, governance and management The Charity is registered as a charitable company limited by guarantee and governed by its Memorandum and Articles of Association. The CH&CTCRP, with a turnover of under £500,000, is run by trustees who are also directors. 9 trustees take responsibility for the risks involved in running the organisation by making considered decisions. They do this for nothing. 7 of 8 trustees come from Newham and 6 are from Custom House and Canning Town. The Charity is run by LOCAL PEOPLE FOR LOCAL PEOPLE. The trustees delegate their power to the general manager (John McNeill) who runs all the essential business and project work of the Charity. John’s first duty is to keep the Trustees properly informed so they can make effective decisions. The Charity also employs a financial administrator (Mike Bowles). The CH&CTCRP has broad charitable objectives to promote purposes beneficial to local people including; the relief of poverty, the advancement of education and training, the preservation and protection of the environment and the provision of recreation in the interest of social welfare to improve the conditions of life of local people.

In response to the social, psychological and financial needs of the increased number of Iranian and Farsi speaking people in Greater London, the CNG wants to offer a range of services including Lunch Club, Film Club, Healthy Lifestyle for Older People, IT Course, ESOL class, one-to-one advice, Health Awareness Workshops, Exercise sessions, Social Outing. READ MORE Entertainment & Leisure After years of working with the elderly, we have the necessary experience and are aware of their needs. CNG has decided to organise Lunch Club to entertain the elderly with traditional Iranian music and board games allowing them to interact with many others. We also supply them with Iranian cuisine. READ MORE Education For CNG the education of our youth and future generation is very important. CNG has a supplementary school where it focuses on teaching Farsi. The students are able to attend the extra-curriculum activities which take place after Farsi lesson. This includes Maths & English to enrich and support the students also Art, Crafts & Dance. READ MORE Support Due to covid-19 pandemic there has been a huge demand among the elderly, disabled and low-income clients for living essentials. CNG has been able to hand out food and supplies to many people. These people were not able to leave their homes for months due to the fright of COVID-19 and we believed it was our duty to help them.
