SOMA has long existed in our minds – it just took a lot of meetings, creative vision and shopping trips until we were able to finally create our little studio. We had one main intention – to build a studio that could impact the lives of those living around us. We wanted to create a space whereby people feel warmth as they enter, a space for people to unwind over a post-yoga coffee, a space for children to explore their worlds through learning and movement, and finally a space away from home whereby people could seek that much needed physical and emotional restoration!

The organisation was founded by Imam Zeeshan Qayum who graduated from the famous seminary Darul Uloom Al Arabiya Al Islamiya, Bury. After graduating he has governed in structuring many Madaaris across London and has been able to offer a range of skills which he acquired whilst working as an Imam and in high profile roles in the civil service. Currently, Garden of Knowledge is run under the guidance of Hadhrat Mufti Ibrahim Raja Saheb (Senior lecturer of Hadith, Darul Uloom, Bury) and many other senior esteemed Scholars. We aim to provide a range of services that will, Insha Allah, be accessible for all members of every community across London and help to fill in any missing gaps we may have in learning the Deen of Al-Islam.

She makes her jewellery here at Flux Studios, London. Vicky set up Flux Jewellery School to share the skills and knowledge she has gained though her own 30-year career as a jeweller and teacher. In 2010 Vicky was commissioned to write ‘Elemental Jewellery’, an inspirational look at jewellery making. The book includes twenty projects that aim to introduce new approaches to making jewellery, while also exploring ways to develop a free spirited design methodology.
