HOME / ABOUT Welcome to the New Garden Cities Alliance We are an alliance of organisations – commercial and not-for-profit – and as well as individuals – dedicated to promote the formation of new, genuine Garden Cities. Our aim is to work in partnership with existing bodies to establish standards for Garden Cities that Britain can be proud of. Also to establish exemplars for an environmentally sustainable society that promotes the wellbeing of all citizens. In particular we wish to set minimum standards for Garden Cities: 1. Being applied to establish new settlements or for transforming existing urban precincts; 2. To integrate the design of their invisible architecture of ownership, control and funding with their visible architecture to promote the common good; 3. That requires mutual ownership of all land to capture and share its value on negotiable basis with all residents be they homeowners or tenants; 4. To attracts investors, entrepreneurs, established and new businesses to add value to the community on basis that equitably shares any profits in excess of the incentive to invest; 5. With the capacity to become largely self-reliant in regards to the basic needs of its residents for water, food and energy and value adding activities to sustain citizen prosperity in perpetuity; 6. That inspires citizens, leaders, community groups, planners, architects and all other stakeholders to work together to a common vision of an ecologically sustainable, fair and equitable society. The New Garden Cities Alliance has been tasked by the signatories of the Letchworth Garden City Declaration to create a movement and organise the consensus to setup the mechanisms so that an agreed definition of what a Garden City is can take root and we can give new settlements the confidence to call themselves ‘Garden Cities’ if they meet a set of agreed social, planning and architectural criteria.

Fitology Hub began in 2016, training one client at 5am on Hilly Fields. As word spread, more and more women signed up and the positive feedback we got made us realise we had something really special to give. So we decided to trade in our freezing cold mornings for something more permanent. While we were researching where to set up shop, we couldn’t believe that there was nothing of the kind already in Brockley, considering the wealth of businesses providing most of the crucial things needed in life - such as good coffee! We consider having an amazing training space as just as important as that. Unit 5 of the Brockley Cross Business Centre was Fitology Hub’s first home, big enough (just) for one client, Suzanne and our dog Bosco, a tiny puppy at the time. In less than a year, it was clear that we needed a bigger space as new members walked through our doors wanting to explore strength training. Unit 43 is the well-loved, warm space that we landed in. Today, we are proud to be a local business that works with women of all ages and from all walks of life. We offer something more personalised than a gym so that our members can access strength and fitness training, from female coaches who understand the barriers to exercising, as well as the benefits. We believe that by changing the way women experience ‘the gym’, we can help make an impact, not only on our member's lives, but also on the world of fitness. Our project vision is to create vibrant local, regional and European learning communities, fuelled by Regional Learning Facilitators. We need new organisational concepts and ownership of issues and concerns from the crowd. Our approach lies in analog and digital networking and support structures that take into account the value of informal networks. The key message of the project is: “When we share, we win”. By learning communities, we mean forms of exchange and cooperation organised by ourselves or supported by the community, which ideally are supported by the involvement of education authorities. The Learning Communities deal with solutions to upcoming problems in everyday education, with challenges of the education system at different system levels, with the creation, exchange and further development of teaching materials, etc. The Learning Communities are also involved in the development of new teaching materials and in the development of new teaching methods. As concrete project goals, we see: the training of 24 Regional Learning Community Facilitators at least 12 Regional Learning Communities in 4 European countries the creation of a European cross-border learning community with at least 48 active members The development of a Learning Community Facilitator Curriculum, which will later become a standard KA1 workshop offer. the development of an AI-supported passive networking platform for teachers and school stakeholders to test a further development option for eTwinning that currently relies only on active search functions Our target group is teachers and their reference system. Our aim is to indirectly support the work of the teachers and to facilitate their planning, implementation and follow-up of their lessons by focusing on the principles of cooperation and exchange. Through active networking, but also by pointing out connection possibilities, teachers should no longer have the feeling of being alone in the corridor but embedded in a professional system that also brings them more self-confidence and self-efficacy.
