The rise of TV shows featuring both amateur and professional bakers, such as G.B.B.O. and Is It Cake? has contributed to the demand for good cake decorating classes in Central London–classes that have instructors that are easy to understand and that allow bakers to let their creativity run free. Along with this increasing demand for skilled cake instructors came talented bakers looking to come to London and showcase their talent as well as extending that talent to others, regardless of their baking abilities, and we started to commission the finest of these cake connoisseurs. As a result, we have since helped many students to a great start, on the right road, to amazing cakes.

Drawing helps us to understand the world, think, feel, shape and communicate ideas. It is fun, accessible and invaluable - in education and everyday life. Our annual Big Draw festival runs throughout October. Over 1000 organisations in the UK and fifteen other countries participate each year - offering events for all ages and abilities. In 2013 and 2014, The Big Draw is collaborating with the Family Arts Festival to create the largest arts festival the UK has ever seen. The 2014 festival will run from 1 Oct - 2 Nov. Artists of 18 and over can submit their work for The John Ruskin Prize and win £1000 and an opportunity to exhibit in the Millennium Gallery Sheffield.

Taking good care of hand-made items is always important for maintaining their condition. Naturally, something made by hand doesn’t have the same hardiness as factory-made items, so may damage more easily depending on how it’s looked after. Though all the homeware items are able to go in the dishwasher, washing by hand is always best when it comes to hand-made pottery, to avoid breakages. Trying to wash pots after they’ve finished being used and drying them upside down is a good way to maintain a good condition and avoid staining over time, although as many of my pots aren’t very light-coloured it’s quite unlikely that they will get stained

The Registration Council for Dog Training and Behaviour Practitioners (RCDTBP) is the United Kingdom’s independent organisation set up in 2010 to manage the CAWC Code of Practice and all that it entails. The Code sets industry agreed minimum professional standards for all those involved with providing a dog training and or behaviour service, and as such holds the official ‘Register of Signatories’ agreeing to be guided to it. In managing the Code, the Registration Council offers: all Dog Training and Behaviour Practitioners the opportunity to register their commitment to the standards of service set by the Code, including those in training and or studying to do so, and supporters with a related interest public search facilities with specific options to help people find appropriate Dog Training and or Behaviour Service(s) for their individual needs the public and other professionals the opportunity to provide us with helpful quality assurance feedback on the standards of service received, as set by the Code and to which all providers, in registering, understand and welcome unbiased and impartial guidance to all on the standards set by the Code as applied to all aspects of dog training and or behaviour services, including advice for those in-training or wishing to do so in the future related organisations, membership bodies and course providers the opportunity not only to register support for the Code, but to contribute to a comprehensive network of services setting standards or providing appropriate educational courses for Practitioners, other professionals and the public

The Calibre programme has been run at North East London Foundation Trust every year since 2015. It was the first NHS Foundation Trust to host Calibre and over 50 members of disabled staff have completed the programme. These include doctors, nurses, specialist clinicians and professional staff as well. Not only has Calibre been beneficial to those member of staff, it has also benefited their managers, senior management and also the way in which disability is now understood at NELFT. Calibre is now integral part of the training offer to disabled staff at North East London Foundation Trust. I am a disabled person from a black and minority ethnic background, and an E&D consultant with fifteen years of experience as a trainer and specialist adviser. I spent twelve years as an academic at the Universities of Oxford, York and Surrey and have written seminal works on the experience of BME disabled people and social care. As a trainer, I have run disability and E&D training courses for Public Sector organisations such as the NHS, the Department of Health and Social Care, numerous Local Authorities, Universities and voluntary sector organisations. Since 2013, I have also run the Calibre Leadership Programmes for disabled staff at a number of Universities and NHS Trusts. If NHS foundation trusts like NELFT want to meet the needs of their disabled staff and see the improvements in their experience through the WDES. Over the last thirty years we have won £1.8bn in additional wages for low paid workers, ended child detention for immigration purposes, secured an amnesty of ‘legacy cases’ for 160,000 asylum applicants as well as winning many victories at the local and regional level. Some of our campaigns have spun off into dedicated projects, to create long-term change.
