This workshop/course introduces people (of any industry or position) to Emotional Intelligence (EI).
We ask you to complete a short EI self-assessment questionnaire to take away and use for your personal development.
We then introduce the ingredients of EI and chat about why they are essential, what they aim to achieve, and why they are critical to “clean” communication across the whole organisation.
We ask you to consider our Moccasin Approach® and our EI Tree® and why they are tools for the future success of internal and external communication.
We link EI to organisational culture and the inherent responsibility we all have to make our workplace culture the type that retains our people, attracts great people to join our organisation, and is a culture that we are proud to talk about because it is truly lived (not just a flag-waving exercise). 
We look at Empathy, how it works, why it is different from sympathy, and how we must all use it in our daily communication with others.
We discuss how personal styles and preferences (even bias) are critical to everyday communication.
We examine the word trust and discuss its meaning, how we can gain and maintain it, and why consistency is one of our favourite words regarding the element of trust.
We ask you to consider our thinking around 'Change Champions' and Best Practice Managers' to help create high-performing teams and cross-team collaboration and support.

Workshop delivery and venue
This Workshop is usually one day in duration but can be a two-day event with group and individual case study work to allow discussions about the various thoughts we all have about EI.
When you consider the content we deliver, we are sure you will understand why we always prefer to deliver our workshops, courses and programmes face-to-face.
Face-to-face workshops and courses can be held at a location of your choice or, if you wish, a central UK location such as the Macdonald Burlington Hotel in Birmingham, located directly across from the Birmingham New Street train station.
We can deliver our workshops, courses and programmes online, although this will mean splitting elements into manageable learning events to suit the online environment.

<h2>Facilitating Effective Meetings: In-House Training</h2>
 <p>Billions of dollars and exorbitant amounts of time are wasted annually across the globe because of organizations' meeting practices. This contributes to serious performance problems for both organizations and employees, and it has a serious impact on culture and morale. But despite the costs and consequences, every-day people in any role have the ability to change that. They can reduce cost, improve productivity, and enhance their workplace cultures by improving their meeting facilitation skills. And that is because facilitation skills start in the planning stage, not in the live meeting stage.</p>
 <p>In this course, participants will learn that their responsibility as a facilitator is to be a steward of time, money, relationships, and performance. To do that, they will learn to estimate costs of meetings and practice a variety of strategic thinking and analysis tasks to effectively plan results-aligned meetings. They will also apply several techniques and strategies to proactively prevent and deal with conflict in meetings, as well as give objective, constructive feedback to others in order to create behavior change during meetings.</p>
 <p>Participants must bring laptops with them and have internet access during the course (both virtual classroom and traditional classroom). The laptops are needed for specific activities.</p>
 <p>Also note that this course pairs well with IIL's Conflict Resolution Skills and Decision Making and Problem Solving courses, which go much deeper into related skills and tools that support effective meeting facilitation.</p><h3>What you will Learn</h3>
