The Lewis Dunne Foundation (LDF) provides a community centred approach to children, young people and families. Following the devastating loss of wholly innocent Lewis who was killed by a single shotgun blast as he walked along the Liverpool - Leeds canal in Eldonian Village, Liverpool. At the time Lewis had planned to meet a friend on the night of 15th November 2015. LDF was set up to combat the exploitation and recruitment of Children and Young People into criminal behaviour. LDF aims to restore safer communities that develop Young People who are socially aware and make positive decisions. The Children, Young People and Families across Merseyside are challenged at a local level, where vulnerable and exposed young people are engaging with LDF through the awareness of Gun, Knife and Drug crime. Work is already being conducted with at risk young people who share an openness and key indicators of criminal exploitation. Drawing focus and attention to the negative impact this has on individuals, families and whole communities.

I have loved the beach since I was a kid. Most of my family holidays were spent at the beach and I now have a deep respect for it. However, the ocean is in great danger, suffering from humanity's massive consumption habits. Aside from the ocean, the whole planet ecosystem is on the verge of ruin. The impact of plastic pollution on marine animals and nature is very serious. The hard truth is, every plastic product we use ends up somewhere on this planet somehow. We need to play an active role for a better future. During my career, I have had the chance to travel the world, and I have seen people using plastic in many ways. From one side of the planet to the other, we are far from understanding the danger linked to single use plastic products. From bags to forks to straws, all should be replaced by sustainable products. I have now rethought my whole lifestyle, and truly hope that I’ll be able to make a change by sharing my beliefs as well as offering sustainable products to everyone for a sustainable tomorrow!

Our charity delivers support to help those with complex, multiple needs to overcome the barriers they face in moving from dependency on welfare and crime to becoming self-sustaining members of communities. We also work with people over many years to help them develop the skills, attributes and the knowledge they need to improve employability and secure paid employment. Our work has helped many people with criminal records to move into further and higher education, access training or start voluntary work, and secure and sustain paid employment (including self-employment). We have worked in the Merseyside region since 1996 offering a tailored service to ex/offenders and those at risk of offending to move away from a life of crime to employment, training, and education (ETE) and voluntary work. We work with local adult ex-offenders to release their full potential and support them to break down the barriers they face.
