I am extremely proud to be Principal and CEO of such an innovative, high performing and caring college. After studying at the College over 90% of our students progress into work or higher education. Student behaviour and attitudes at the College are rated as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted. This results in high levels of success in our wide range of qualifications as well as exceptional student skill development and medal achievements in local, regional, national, and international skills competitions. At the most recent WorldSkills UK national finals our College was the best performing College in England. Students won gold medals in creative media makeup, silver medals in digital media production and visual merchandising, and foundation level students won gold medals in catering health and social care, and motor vehicle skills. College students also won seven gold medals in the Welsh International Culinary Championship. The amazing commitment and high levels of expertise of our teaching and support staff over the last year has been recognised in nominations for a TES national award (for our distance and online learning team) and through two national Pearson award nominations for our beauty and holistic therapies teaching team and for one of our learning support mentors. We have also been awarded chartered status by the Chartered Institution for Further Education, the only organisation in the UK with royal assent to provide chartered status to FE providers. In the last three years, the College has opened two new world class campuses. The College-led MIRA Technology Institute (MTI) is located on the HORIBA MIRA Technology Park and is a learning partnership with HORIBA MIRA, Coventry, Leicester, and Loughborough Universities. Students and apprentices at this campus are building skills to support the disruptive technologies such as electrification and cyber security in the automotive industry. The College’s new Digital Skills Academy located on the Coventry University Technology Park represents part of our response to the fast-growing demand for digital skills in all industry sectors. Over the next year, we will be opening our Centre for Logistics Education and Research (CLEAR) at Magna Park, in partnership with Aston University and industry partner Wincanton. We will also be progressing our plans with Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council to move our award-winning restaurant and a new Digital Innovation Centre into Nuneaton town centre, and we will continue with the redevelopment of our Nuneaton campus into a 21st century digitally enable centre of teaching excellence.

AUDE is run by an executive committee of university directors of estates that provides strategic oversight to the organisation. They make recommendations on several of the association aspects such as subscription fees and the annual budget as well as managing the election of office holders. Members vote at the AGM to apply or amend recommendations, and elect the officers. The executive committee meets four times a year, discussing and responding to matters presented by the fellow directors (directly and through regional chairs), and by the executive director and staff team. The committee receives the executive director’s quarterly report, which contains updates from each of the topic-based working groups. The meetings are also used to discuss and act on the organisation’s financial performance throughout the year. Furthermore, the meetings provide a useful sounding board and guide to the executive director, Jane White, and the AUDE team in determining the services provided to members and projects undertaken. The team comprises of five members of staff employed on permanent contracts: Executive Director (1.0 FTE) Projects and Engagement Manager (1.0FTE) Events Manager (0.8 FTE) Communications Officer (0.5 FTE) Events and Projects Officer (0.8 FTE) AUDE is a not-for-profit organisation and receives its core funding from member institution subscriptions and training and development activities. It is sustainable, with healthy financial reserves in line with its agreed financial model.

We are approved by The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (UK), and by The Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management to deliver approved courses from Levels 2 through to 6.  We also provide bespoke training to meet the needs of individuals or organisations, which can be accredited by The Institute of Leadership and Management, as we are an accreditation partner.  As well we can offer further courses through the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment, and through Focus Awards .   A particular speciality of ours is to provide only the training that is necessary to achieve a requirement; we do this by accreditation of prior learning and working closely with the appropriate professional institute to create a cost-effective, bespoke but relevant course that meets professional standards. Our aim is to work closely with employers to design training and support to meet specific needs, within the culture of the organisation, whatever size and sector.  By establishing strong relationships and partnerships, we are proud of our ability to ensure learning is fully applied in the workplace, adding value to both employers and learners.  Studying with us, you are never alone; we have expert tutors who are on hand to provide guidance with all aspects of any of the courses and are always happy to help.  The quality of our tutors is a particular strength of ours; we select only the best quality and most experienced, who are dedicated in the delivery of the best performance, leading to excellent results. We work in a variety of sectors, but in particular we have excellent strengths in the public sector (including Defence, Local government, NHS and the Emergency Services), oil and gas, manufacturing, logistics, communications, education, Logistics/Supply Chain and Facilities Management.  In addition we have strong roots in Leadership and Management across all sectors.  Our Operations Director, has more than 30 years education, learning and training experience, covering the design, development and delivery of leadership and management, HRM, communication and soft skills, business coaching and strategy. She is a Fellow of The Institute of Leadership and Management, a former visiting lecturer at The University of Wales (Trinity St David) and at the National Fire Service College, and was the Chief External Verifier for CILT (Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport) in the UK. She is also a licensed Myers Briggs Type Indicator® practitioner, and is accredited as a Stress Management Consultant. Helen has held trustee positions at a variety of charitable organisations, including the Federation of Holistic Therapists, Citizens Advice Bureau and the Psychosynthesis Trust, in addition to work on various governing bodies.  David Ockleton, our Business Development Director,  has had successful careers both in the Armed Forces and Industry, working in most parts of the World. He has extensive experience of Supply Chain and Logistics in general, Business Change, Leadership and Management, Security and Counter Terrorism. David is a Chartered Fellow of CILT (UK) and a former CILT (UK) External Verifier. He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute, a Member of the City and Guilds Institute and a Member of the Institute of Explosive Engineers.  He was previously the Chairman of the Qualifications Development Assessment Committee for CILT(UK).
