Based in Glasgow, the company performs regularly all over Scotland – from our biggest cities to our most remote communities, and increasingly throughout the UK and internationally – promoting Scotland’s pioneering spirit far and wide. We are here to present ballet at its best. We are passionate about live music and tour with an orchestra whenever we can. We present classics in new ways and we work with the finest dance makers. Throughout it all, we strive for excellence. We are dedicated to supporting the arts and communities in Scotland. Scottish Ballet nurtures the talent of tomorrow; supporting dancers, choreographers and a wide range of artists. Our goal: to inspire excellence and creativity in everyone and bring dance to people we haven’t reached before. We want to bring the joy and benefits of dance to everyone regardless of age, ability and background. Our engagement programme promotes confidence, fosters well-being and encourages creativity in all by delivering inspirational programmes tailored to the needs of each group.

In 1999, West Dunbartonshire SIP commissioned research on the needs of local young people from Dumbarton, Vale of Leven and Clydebank. Findings highlighted overwhelming support for the introduction of some form of youth information service. A steering group, comprising local young people and adults was set up and the idea of a youth led information and support project; for young people by young people was developed with funding from West Dunbartonshire Partnership, Scottish Enterprise Dunbartonshire and Greater Glasgow NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. In January the Y Sort-It Youth Information Centre on Kilbowie road was launched with four full-time members of staff, led by a management committee made up of the young members of the steering group and this committee is still the main driving force for the project today(though its members have changed from year to year). In 2014 Y Sort-It moved to its huge new base located besides the Clydebank Hub on West Thomson Street. Where before the base had been a small and sometime cramped place to hold meetings and groups the new base was is now a massive difference and as such the opportunities are now boundless. So please if you’re in the area why not drop in and you can help us to continue making fantastic history for the young people of West Dunbartonshire. Our Facilities Y Sort It youth centre provides a dedicated youth friendly space with various weekly youth activities offered throughout the West Dunbartonshire are . Our Y Sort It outreach bus helps provide youth activities across the local communities of West Dunbartonshire and our unique Carbeth hut, the Gillie Dhu, provides an opportunity for young people and children to enjoy the outdoors located in the Carbeth Hutting Community, Stirlingshire. We also developed a local shop front into a bike maintenance work shop & training space for our StreetBikes initiative.

STREETWORK’S MISSION STREETWORK BELIEVES THAT VULNERABLE YOUNG PEOPLE SHOULD HAVE THE SAME OPPORTUNITIES AS THEIR PEERS - TO GROW AND ACHIEVE THEIR DREAMS AND, TO DEVELOP AS A PERSON WITH HIGH SELF-ESTEEM Streetwork provides one-on-one mentoring to at-risk 11-18-year-olds, so that they are supported to break their cycle of destructive influences and behaviours, and turn their lives around. Our goals-based mentoring program and the support we receive from our dedicated supporters and volunteers are critical to our success. Streetwork’s Youth Case Management Early intervention and prevention, goal setting and, mentoring are StreetWork’s key focus areas. However, in order for us to successfully address the damaging influences and risk-taking behaviors impacting our young people’s safety, we also work with external, specialist youth services. These services include psychologists specialising in youth mental health and homeless shelters, purpose-built to provide a safe haven from domestic violence. Streetwork’s case management approach enables us to build a community of holistic support, to ensure lasting change and, improved life skills.

ABOUT US The Boys' Brigade is one of the biggest Christian Youth Organisations in the UK & Republic of Ireland, committed to seeing lives enriched by supporting children and young people to reach their full potential by providing opportunities to meet together and engage in a range of fun and developmental activities and experiences. It was on 12th October 1885 that the twelve Glasgow Companies held a meeting to form the Glasgow Battalion. More than 139 years later Glasgow Battalion comprises 44 Companies operating in Glasgow and East Kilbride, the role of a Battalion is to promote the interests of the Brigade in its area by organising activities for members; by the provision of support, training and opportunities for fellowship for Leaders; and by seeking opportunities for development of the Brigade to fulfil its Object better.

Liz Cairns is a Psychodynamic Counsellor and Play Therapist who specialises in working with young people and their families. She leads the Counsellor training at HDS ( www.hds.scot ) and provides clinical supervision. Liz originally trained as a teacher changing direction after 12 years to work full time as a Counsellor initially in Social Work and then in the NHS. Over a period of 13 years she developed and managed the successful Youth Counselling Service for NHS Lanarkshire (CAMHS) before leaving to set up her own company. The YCS in Lanarkshire was the first to secure a Counsellor in every secondary school in the 40 plus secondary schools across North and South Lanarkshire.

EduSport (Education through Sport) is a community driven NGO founded in 1999 in response to identified gaps in opportunities for communities to participate in sport and for youth empowerment. Edusport’s aim is integrating Sport into the Development process through its programmes. It combines sports and life skills training especially to socio-economically under served and at risk young people. Edusport is found in 9 of 10 provinces of Zambia. it is currently operating in over 84 under served communities in 21 districts around Zambia. The organisation targets youths, trains them to become peer leaders, local role models and community mobilizers to drive change and spread the message of hope.

Engage Renfrewshire is a third sector interface (TSI); this means that we support local charities and other not-for-profit groups. Now in its 12th year Engage Renfrewshire support local organisations to be well managed, well resourced, well represented and well connected. Engage Renfrewshire provides advice and support to all community focussed groups who want to start up or develop further. We support social enterprises, community development trusts, charitable groups, mutual aid groups and more. We help groups to build capacity and to be safe, by providing information, advice and training for everything from charitable structures to funding. We have a comprehensive volunteering service. We support volunteer involving organisations with recruitment and volunteer support, and work with individuals to find them rewarding and uplifting volunteer opportunities. We also work with local charities and public sector bodies to promote volunteering for all. Our financial services social enterprise, Engage Finance, offers payroll, HR and financial services to individuals and organisations in Renfrewshire and beyond. Our space in Ferguslie Park is a community hub where we host training and networking opportunities as well as hosting other third sector organisations and charities. We are part of local community planning and actively support collaborative working with the public and private sectors to ensure that people and services are working together, in the most effective way possible. We support and advise many community agendas across Renfrewshire including Renfrewshire’s Health and Social Care Partnership, Local Employability Partnership, Future Paisley, RenSEN (Renfrewshire Social Enterprise Network), and Renfrewshire’s Youth Work Network.
