Penicuik South is a small, adult competitive badminton club based in Midlothian. The club has a Ladies, Gents and a Mixed team competing in the Heather, Lothian and Churches Badminton Leagues. The club strictly uses feather shuttles and is affiliated to Badminton Scotland. Our Club nights run every Wednesday evening for two hours, from the end of September to the end of April and operates a summer club during the off-season months.

Damian Callan is a practising figurative painter based in Edinburgh. He teaches drawing and painting classes for adults and art classes for children at his studio near Haymarket. In the spring and summer he runs landscape painting courses in and around Edinburgh. He is the author of two books, Paint Like Degas and Paint Like Renoir. His work is exhibited widely in the UK and is held in collections across the world. He has written articles for Artist & Illustrators Magazine and The Artist Magazine and regularly demonstrates drawing and painting techniques at public events in Edinburgh.

Buckstone Primary School, situated on the south east of the Buckstone Estate, flanked on one side by woods and Mortonhall Golf Club, was opened on the 19 April 1977 and has become the focal point in the community. A large extension to the school was opened in January 1985. An additional class was built in the summer 2000 also the refurbishments of some classes were completed. The buildings are semi open-plan in design; all classrooms are carpeted and open out to three main multi-purpose areas. Toilet and cloakroom facilities are within the areas. There is a well equipped hall/gymnasium, a library, resource room and a music room.

Daniel is very experienced in teaching dance, having delivered warm-ups and company classes for Polish Dance Theatre, Nunzio Impellizzeri Dance company, Companhia do Norte, Simba Ensamble, Frontier Danceland among others... He has also delivered workshops for The National Ballet School of Belarus, Polish National Ballet School in Poznan, CCDC dance center in Hong Kong and the Dance Festival of Open Look Festival in St Petersburgh, Danzing Poznan, Poland, I-Dance Festival in Hong Kong. Tripspace in London. Over the past two years, Daniel has taught the students of the M1-Frontier Danceland Pulse program in Singapore as an instructor. This has included courses in the basics of dance, improvisation classes, and contact classes. Our school supports students in developing creative confidence and finding courage through a range of icon painting courses and workshops open to students at all levels. Edinburgh School of Icon Painting was founded in September 2013. It is a small school based in the artist hub St. Margaret's House. The school mission is to teach icon painting (writing) to people of all different backgrounds but at the same time maintaining the ethos and essence of it's spirituality. Introducing this unique form of art to students of the school I introduce a way of practising art which is different the other forms of art and it is said to be more then just art. Students learn egg tempera technique which has been used in art for centuries and it is one of the most lasting painting techniques. There are still reasonably well preserved icons from VI Century. Egg tempera involves preparing own paints using egg yolk and dry pigments. Through the whole process of work we try to limit synthetic materials. Using organic materials helps to develop a connection with nature and in consequence with the Divine. Basia Mindewicz - founder and teacher. Born in 1978. Graduated from The Maria Grzegorzewska Academy of Special Education, MA and College of Iconography (Policealne Studium Ikonograficzne) in Bielsk Podlaski in 2008.
