Jo has been working in professional and practice development for the past 25 years – predominantly within Mental Health and Local Government and the NHS. First and foremost, she is a practitioner, who brings real front-line experience to the lives of the people and organisations she supports. Her focus has been on service re-design, staff development and appraisals, coaching and 1:1 support. Her particular attention has been working with individuals to assess their strengths and skillset, building on their personal and professional development and helping people build their resilience to effectively navigate personal and organisational change. Her consultancy experience spans Local Authorities, the NHS, Public, Private and 3rd Sector. She is an experienced and effective Executive Coach. She delivers specific programmes in stress management, team building, coaching and effective working relationships underpinned by a strong ethos in strength focussing and asset building. Her work takes her all over the country. Jo is an ILM accredited Executive Coach. She has an first degree BSc in Sociology and Applied Social Sciences from Buckinghamshire University, and a MA in Leadership and Management from Birmingham University. She has a Diploma in Practice Mentoring Assessment. Jo is also qualified with a Level 3 Award in Education and Training (PTLLS). Jo is a highly qualified professional with a wealth of experience in working with a wide range of people.

Selecting a secondary school is one of the biggest decisions you will make as a family. I’ve been working at Lutterworth College since 2005. I live in the community, and my children attend one of our feeder primaries. In time, they’ll be attending the College. We know that your children are central to your life – and they carry just as much importance to us. I firmly believe that, if something isn’t good enough for my children, it certainly isn’t good enough for yours. I want Lutterworth College to be a great school, but without any tricks or stunts. On occasion, we are asked by prospective students about our background and how and where we started. To put things simply, students want to know more about us before they decide whether to select us as their distance learning provider. And who can blame them! The initial idea of setting up UK Open College was the brainchild of our director Bill Nicholls. After many years of working within an education and in particular the distance learning sector. Bill gained a thorough understanding of exactly what students were looking for when embarking on their home study journey. After years of speaking and dealing directly with distance learning students, it was soon established exactly what it was that students required. The main three factors were to offer the opportunity to study anywhere, anytime, offer true flexibility and to ensure any offering was affordable to the majority of students. After all, there is no point in providing all of this if it was then unaffordable. These three factors soon became the morals and ethics of the whole company.

We are fortunate to have superb facilities here at Caludon which provide modern and professional learning spaces and resources for every subject.
