<p>Seismic interpretation requires an understanding of structural development and its interrelation with the stratigraphic system. Bias and misunderstanding have unfortunately resulted in countless dry holes. So go beyond tracing horizons and understand their context within the structural system by extracting key information from seismic surveys and other datasets.</p>
<p>In this 5 full-day training course, participants will learn a variety of modern structural concepts and techniques and their role in the interpretation of seismic data. Using an applied 'hands-on' approach, participants will be exposed to a diversity of worldwide case examples with complementary exercises - both of an individual and group nature.</p>

In 1996, he returned to UL-Lafayette, where he was awarded in 1997 the Hensarling-Chapman Endowed Professorship in Geology. He began independent consulting activities in 1991, and in 2001, he left academia for full-time consulting for clients ranging from one-man shops to supermajors. He rejoined UL-Lafayette as an adjunct professor from 2011 - 2018.</p>
<p>He is an active researcher, receiving several million dollars in grants from federal, state, and industry sources, presenting numerous talks, including a 2019 AAPG Levorsen award, and publishing on a diversity of geoscience topics, including a Grover E. Murray Best Published Paper award in 2017. He is co-author of the inaugural GCAGS/GCSSEPM Transactions Best Student Paper award in 2018. He served as the GCAGS Publisher since 2006 and in various GCAGS/GCSSEPM Transactions editing capacities since 2006, including the 2014 and 2017 - 2022 Editor (named Permanent Transactions Editor in 2017), and Managing Editor since 2011, receiving a GCAGS Distinguished Service Award in 2018.</p>
<p>He served as the General Chair for GeoGulf 2020 (70th GCAGS/GCSSEPM Convention), the 1st hybrid geoscience conference in the world. <p>Your specialist course leader has more than 32 years of practical engineering experience with Ontario Power Generation (OPG), one of the largest electric utility in North America. He was previously involved in research on power generation equipment with Atomic Energy of Canada Limited at their Chalk River and Whiteshell Nuclear Research Laboratories.</p>
<p>While working at OPG, he acted as a Training Manager, Engineering Supervisor, System Responsible Engineer and Design Engineer. During the period of time, he worked as a Field Engineer and Design Engineer, he was responsible for the operation, maintenance, diagnostics, and testing of gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, motors, transformers, inverters, valves, pumps, compressors, instrumentation and control systems. Further, his responsibilities included designing, engineering, diagnosing equipment problems and recommending solutions to repair deficiencies and improve system performance, supervising engineers, setting up preventive maintenance programs, writing Operating and Design Manuals, and commissioning new equipment.</p>
<p>Later, he worked as the manager of a section dedicated to providing training for the staff at the power stations. The training provided by him covered in detail the various equipment and systems used in power stations.</p>
<p>In addition, he has taught courses and seminars to more than four thousand working engineers and professionals around the world, specifically Europe and North America. He has been consistently ranked as 'Excellent' or 'Very Good' by the delegates who attended his seminars and lectures.</p>
<p>He written 5 books for working engineers from which 3 have been published by McGraw-Hill, New York. Below is a list of the books authored by him;</p>

He is currently a Senior Independent Consultant to various petrochemical industries in the UK, USA, Oman, Kuwait and KSA where he provides consultancy services on both the application and operational constraints of process equipment in the oil &amp; gas industries.</p>
<p>During his early career, he held key positions in Rolls Royce (UK) where he was involved in the design of turbine blading for jet engines, subject to pre-specified distributions of pressure. During this period and since, he has also been closely involved in various aspects of Turbomachinery, Thermodynamics and Fluid Mechanics where he has become a recognised authority in these areas.</p>
<p>Later, he joined the academic staff of University of Liverpool in the UK as a Professor in Mechanical Engineering Courses. A substantial part of his work has been concerned with detailed aspects of Flowmetering - both of single &amp; multiphase flows. He has supervised doctoral research students in this area in collaboration with various European flowmeter manufacturers.</p>
<p>He joined Haward Technology Middle East in 2002 and was later appointed as European Manager (a post which has since lapsed) and has delivered over 150 training courses in Flowmeasurement (single- and multi-phase), Control, Heat Exchangers, Pumps, Turbines, Compressors, Valve and Valve Selection as well as other topics throughout the UK, USA, Oman and Kuwait. During the last two years, he has delivered courses with other training companies operating in the Far and Middle East.</p>

<p>Your specialist course leader has more than 32 years of practical engineering experience with Ontario Power Generation (OPG), one of the largest electric utility in North America. He was previously involved in research on power generation equipment with Atomic Energy of Canada Limited at their Chalk River and Whiteshell Nuclear Research Laboratories. While working at OPG, he acted as a Training Manager, Engineering Supervisor, System Responsible Engineer and Design Engineer. During the period of time, he worked as a Field Engineer and Design Engineer, he was responsible for the operation, maintenance, diagnostics, and testing of gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, motors, transformers, inverters, valves, pumps, compressors, instrumentation and control systems. Further, his responsibilities included designing, engineering, diagnosing equipment problems and recommending solutions to repair deficiencies and improve system performance, supervising engineers, setting up preventive maintenance programs, writing Operating and Design Manuals, and commissioning new equipment. Later, he worked as the manager of a section dedicated to providing training for the staff at the power stations. The training provided by him covered in detail the various equipment and systems used in power stations. In addition, he has taught courses and seminars to more than four thousand working engineers and professionals around the world, specifically Europe and North America. He has been consistently ranked as 'Excellent' or 'Very Good' by the delegates who attended his seminars and lectures. He was previously involved in research on power generation equipment with Atomic Energy of Canada Limited at their Chalk River and Whiteshell Nuclear Research Laboratories.</p>
<p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">While working at OPG, he acted as a Training Manager, Engineering Supervisor, System Responsible Engineer and Design Engineer. During the period of time, he worked as a Field Engineer and Design Engineer, he was responsible for the operation, maintenance, diagnostics, and testing of gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, motors, transformers, inverters, valves, pumps, compressors, instrumentation and control systems. Further, his responsibilities included designing, engineering, diagnosing equipment problems and recommending solutions to repair deficiencies and improve system performance, supervising engineers, setting up preventive maintenance programs, writing Operating and Design Manuals, and commissioning new equipment.</p>
<p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">Later, he worked as the manager of a section dedicated to providing training for the staff at the power stations. The training provided by him covered in detail the various equipment and systems used in power stations.</p>
<p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">In addition, he has taught courses and seminars to more than four thousand working engineers and professionals around the world, specifically Europe and North America. He has been consistently ranked as &#39;Excellent&#39; or &#39;Very Good&#39; by the delegates who attended his seminars and lectures.</p>

How do I attend?

EITHER -
CLASSROOM OPTION - Attend one of our scheduled classroom locations, completing your Introduction to Phlebotomy Course over 2 days. You will also complete your Advanced Training at the end of the first day and your Competency Training at the end of the second day.

Our Introduction to Phlebotomy and Advanced Phlebotomy Training Kits are supplied at no charge when booking our virtual classroom training option.
If you would like to add one or both of these kits to your classroom training option then these are available to add at time of booking. Our comprehensive training kits each mirror the same equipment and supplies used in the classroom and both include detailed video tutorials, allowing you to continue to practice and "hone" your skills after you have completed your practical training.

VIRTUAL CLASSROOM OPTION- Complete your theory training online at home or work, then join us for a one day Zoom session to complete your Introduction to Phlebotomy virtual classroom training, followed by your Advanced Training in the evening of the same day. You have the option to add a classroom-based competency session, awarding a CPD Accredited Geopace Certificate of Competency, at time of booking.

Our Virtual Classroom option includes two very comprehensive training kits - one for your introductory course and one for your advanced course. Kits are included at no charge (normally £79.95 each) and are yours to keep and to continue to practice with after you have finished your courses. The equipment and supplies included in your kits are the same as those used if you choose the classroom option.

M02 - Aspirated and Vacuated Systems:
Open systems (Syringe & Needle), closed systems (Vacutainer & Monovette), Alternative closed systems, Using Monovette - aspiration and evacuated techniques, monovette adapter systems.
M03 - Specialised and Advanced Phlebotomy Equipment:
The centrifuge - overview. Safe operation and use. Managing a centrifuge breakage or spillage.
Equipment and practices in unusual situations.
Patients with special needs and requiring specific attention.
Equipment preparation for blood samples that are collected at
0 degrees, 37 degrees C and other non-standard conditions.
A look at advances in technology and how to use the latest devices.
M04 - Point of Care Testing:
What is POC Testing? Advantages, Disadvantages and Clinical
Outcomes. Comparison of POC with lab testing. 10 common POC tests. Roles for phlebotomists performing POC Tests.
M05 - Neonates and Children:
Sample collection from new-born to pre-adult. A detailed overview of legal principles of law including child consent and child protection for phlebotomists. Neonatal and child blood collection equipment.
A comprehensive look at heel and finger-prick procedures including
microtainers, lancets and capillary tube collection. Detailed heel prick procedure. Paediatric finger prick collection. The life-threatening hazard of over-collecting. Communication techniques in differing age bands.
Consent and the law. Basic principles of lawful consent for neonates and paediatric patients. Child protection.
Detailed analysis of neonatal and paediatric blood collection including Guthrie card collection. Neonatal bottles - colours and tests. Paediatric blood gases collection.
Butterfly needles - when to use. Blood tests during pregnancy. Neonatal blood screening - nine conditions covered. Bilirubin in neonates.
M06 - Geriatric Patients:
The challenges of phlebotomy in older people. Understanding skin changes and venepuncture implications. A profile of common
geriatric blood tests. Age related problems. Procedural precautions.
M07 - Special Procedures:
Drawing blood from back of hand. Drawing blood from lower limb veins. Managing the unwilling or difficult patient. Managing the psychiatric patient. Managing the isolated patient. Non-routine blood tests. Managing the latex allergy patient (type 1 and type 4 reactions). Latex indicators. Sample handling - non-routine procedures. Drug trials and research projects.
M08 - Special Tests and Sample Handling Procedures:
A look at sample collection at specific times of day and night,
samples that are protected from light, collected on ice and
collected at body temperature. Procedures for each group - collection notes, analytic time, optimal collection time and notes for each group.
M09 - Advanced Phlebotomy Tasks:
Additional procedures. Maintaining POC equipment. Stock control and stock rotation. Quality control. Data entry. Product evaluation. Training and competency evaluation.
M10 - Alternative Environments:
A step-by-step look at non-clinical phlebotomy environments including private testing, DEFRA, forensic and police, cord blood collection, DNA analysis, veterinary services, overseas and volunteering.

1 - Welcome, introductions and overview:
- Classroom - health & safety briefing, schedule overview.
- Virtual Classroom - audio/visual checks and registration. Unpacking and overview of your training kit.
2 - Syringe and Needle (open system): Correct use and applications.
3 - Monovette (open and closed systems):
Using the Monovette system in aspiration mode - correct use and applications.
Using the Monovette system in evacuated mode - correct use and applications.
4 - IR Vein Detector:
Demonstration of the IR vein detector for assisting in detection of difficult veins.
5 - Veins in back of hand:
Detecting suitable veins in the back of the hand.
6 - POC testing:
Point of Care Testing - use of glucose meter to demonstrate a typical POC test procedure. Correct use and overview of other POC test devices.
7 - Using lancets (finger collection)
We look at the correct use of lancets for POC testing and whole blood micro-collection.
8 - Using lancets (heel collection)
We look at the correct use of lancets for neonatal blood spot tests (Guthrie Test).
9 - Capillary collection
Using glass capillary tubes for micro-collection. Correct use and handling.
10 - Microtube collection
Correct use of BD Microtainers (and similar micro-collection bottles) - collection and handling.

This course is supported with downloadable resources and may include extra video segments to reinforce your practical training.

This Vaccination / Injection Course is a nurse or paramedic-led half-day session covering all essential theory and practical skill-sets required to deliver effective Intramuscular, Intradermal and Subcutaneous injections / vaccinations.

CLASSROOM OPTION - Complete your theory training online at home or work, then attend one of our scheduled classroom locations, completing your Peripheral IV Cannulation Course and your Injection Course on the same day.
Our Peripheral IV Cannulation Course and Injection Course training kits are supplied at no charge when booking our virtual classroom training option.
If you would like to add one or both of these kits to your classroom training option then these are available for you to add at time of booking. Training kits mirror the same equipment and supplies used in the classroom and both include detailed video instructions, allowing you to continue to practice and "hone" your skills after you have completed your practical training.

OR -

VIRTUAL CLASSROOM OPTION- Complete your theory training online at home or work, then join us for your one full day to complete your cannulation and injection course training.

Our Virtual Classroom option includes two very comprehensive training kits - one for your cannulation course and one for your injection course. Kits are included at no charge (normally £79.95 and £39.95 respectively) and are yours to keep and to continue to practice with after you have finished your courses. The equipment and supplies included in your kits are the same as those used if you choose the classroom option.
