Suitability 
This course is designed for those working in an environment where an AED is available and staff
members need additional training in its use and maintenance. The qualification has been mapped to current Resuscitation Council (UK) guidelines. Learners should be a minimum of 16 years to undertake this qualification. 

Description
This qualification provides learners with skills and knowledge to use and carry out maintenance on AEDs. On successful completion of this course, you will receive a Level 3 Responding to Incidents with an AED Certificate, which is valid for 1 year from the date of assessment.

<p>This VILT course provides examples and case studies from North American and European jurisdictions covering the operational flexibilities on the demand side including requirements for new building codes to achieve zero net energy. The course describes a public agency's goals and objectives for conserving and otherwise reducing energy consumption and managing its demand for energy. This course presents the demand response implemented for economics and system security such as system balancing and relieving transmission congestion, or for system adequacy. The course also presents the principal attributes of conservation programs and the associated success criteria. In a system with increased penetration of renewable resources, demand response provides flexibility to system operators, helping them to maintain the reliability and the security of supply.</p>
<p>Demand response is presented as a competitive alternative to additional power sources, enhancing competition and liquidity in electricity markets. The unique characteristics are discussed from a local, consumer centric and also from a system perspective bringing to life the ever changing paradigm for delivery energy to customers. <p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">In our pursuit to discover oil &amp; gas in deeper horizons, wells are often drilled in a HPHT environment. To be considered a HPHT well, the downhole conditions will have pressures in excess of 10,000 psi (69 MPa) and 300&Acirc;&deg; F (150&Acirc;&deg; C). To drill these usually expensive wells successfully, the planning and execution phase has to be of an exceptionally high standard. Therefore, both operator and drilling/service contractor staff must be seamlessly aligned and work as a coherent team to reach and then harness the well objectives. This is particularly important when speciality services such as Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) are being applied with crews and/or supervisors who are not intricately familiar with complicated well control incidents. As we seek to prevent costly non-productive time, attention will also be paid to enabling technologies like expandable solid tubulars, mud coolers and specialty mud.</p>

During that time, he has worked exclusively in the well engineering domain. After being employed in 1974 by Shell, one of the major oil &amp; gas producing operators, he worked as an apprentice on drilling rigs in the Netherlands. After a year, he was sent for his first international assignment to the Sultanate of Oman where he climbed up the career ladder from Assistant Driller, to Driller, to wellsite Petroleum Engineer and eventually on-site Drilling Supervisor, actively engaged in the drilling of development and exploration wells in almost every corner of this vast desert area. At that time, drilling techniques were fairly basic and safety was just a buzz word, but such a situation propels learning and the fruits of &#39;doing-the-basics&#39; are still reaped today when standing in front of a class.</p>
<p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">After some seven years in the Middle East, a series of other international assignments followed in places like the United Kingdom, Indonesia, Turkey, Denmark, China, Malaysia, and Russia. Apart from on-site drilling supervisory jobs on various types of drilling rigs (such as helicopter rigs) and working environments (such as jungle and artic), he was also assigned to research, to projects and to the company&#39;s learning centre. In research, he was responsible for promoting directional drilling and surveying and advised on the first horizontal wells being drilled, in projects, he was responsible for a high pressure drilling campaign in Nigeria while in the learning centre, he looked after the development of new engineers joining the company after graduating from university. He was also involved in international well control certification and served as chairman for a period of three years. In the last years of his active career, he worked again in China as a staff development manager, a position he nurtured because he was able to pass on his knowledge to a vast number of new employees once again.</p>
<p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">After retiring in 2015, he has delivered well engineering related courses in Australia, Indonesia, Brunei, Malaysia, China, South Korea, Thailand, India, Dubai, Qatar, Kuwait, The Netherlands, and the United States. Our Route to Competency Masterclass - Live Blood Sessions can only be completed in a classroom environment. This is included when you book a classroom option. When booking the virtual classroom option you can choose to add this at time of booking. You will receive a voucher code to enable you to book onto any upcoming dates or locations. For most of our two day course we run our competency training at the end of the second day and therefore you should be able to complete your full training programme with us over two days.

Training kits mirror the same equipment and supplies used in the classroom and both include detailed video instructions, allowing you to continue to practice and "hone" your skills after you have completed your practical training.

M1 - Peripheral IV Cannulation - Introduction:
Definitions - understanding terminology relating to PIVC.
IV Therapy and NMC guidelines.
M2 - Legal & Professional Responsibilities:
Legal Obligations and Accountability. Criminal, Civil and
Contractual law in Healthcare. Vicarious Liability and your
Duty of Care.
M3 - Anatomy & Physiology:
Sites appropriate to IV cannulation. Hand vs. arm.
Advantages and disadvantages of relevant veins.
An overview of Homeostasis and Fluid Balance.
M4 - Hygiene and Infection Prevention & Control (IPC):
Reducing healthcare-associated infections. Keeping Safe.
Bloodborne Pathogens and Work Practice Controls.
Standard Precautions. Waste Disposal. Needle-stick injuries.
M5 - Indications and Advantages:
When to cannulate, infusion types and benefits over
alternative infusion routes. Continuous and intermittent infusion.
Prophylactic use before procedures and in unstable patients.
Contraindications.
M6 - Equipment:
Cannula types, sizes and colour coding. How to select
appropriate size. Equipment overview for total procedure.
M7 - Vein Choice for Cannulation:
Correct vein selection. Which veins to avoid.
How to manage an unsuccessful cannulation.
M8 - Procedures:
Full procedure for cannulation including correct documentation.
