We will work with the majority of Local Authorities and Clinical Commissioning Groups in England, Scotland and Wales. Within Azalea Care we provide tailored programmes, therapeutic environments and through our highly dedicated and experienced adults members we empower individuals to progress to achieve their ‘personal best’.

I set up my workshop in 1983 after leaving the Royal College of Art. In 1990 I established my studio in Model House Craft and Design Centre in Llantrisant. I work primarily in anodised aluminium producing one off and batch production jewellery. As the material is light and not too expensive I can make large, bold pieces which are both wearable and affordable. Most importantly, by anodising it, I can achieve bright and brilliant colour effects. My passions My three passions are colour, pattern and technique. I love making things and exploring the possibilities of different materials. Although I trained as a jeweller, my work has been heavily influenced by both traditional and contemporary textiles. Over the last twenty years I have also been developing work in felt. I combine this with my jewellery practice to create both functional pieces and work that is purely decorative. My creative ancestry inspires me Much of my recent work has evolved from looking back at my creative ancestry. It was my grandmothers who initiated my fascination with making objects. They passed on their traditional textile skills and started my passion for creating anything from colourful materials. In 2010, I received an Arts Council of Wales grant to help me purchase a laser cutter which enabled me to develop new work. I have used this to explore different materials such as taffeta, acrylic, cardboard and wood. This has opened up many exciting possibilities and I feel I have only just started this journey. I am involved in many craft groups and associations. I am regional co-ordinator and Chair of the International Feltmakers Association. I am a member of the Makers Guild in Wales, of the Association of Contemporary Jewellery and of MaP, a textile group. I have exhibited widely in the UK, Europe, Japan, USA and Canada.

KIRAN (also known as KIRAN Cymru) is committed to improving mental wellbeing of Black Asian Ethnic Minority people living in Wales. We particularly focus on people over 50 and young people. However, all of our activities are ‘open to all’, and we welcome everyone to participate. We currently have several projects to promote mental wellbeing. Please see below to learn about the projects and visit their respective websites. KIRAN Legal - Free Legal Help This is a pilot project by KIRAN Cymru. We help financially disadvantaged BAME members in Wales by offering free legal support (Benefits, Housing and employment) and interpretation/translation services in Bengali, Hindi, Urdu, Sylheti, Punjabi and Gujrati. Since March 2020, we have been helping BAME people in Cardiff with their day-to-day needs, i.e., grocery shopping. We also ring elderly community members regularly to keep in touch and overcome loneliness through our befriending service. Our ‘Friends in Need’ service helps BAME people in Wales to connect with other people and fight social isolation. Our Communities Our Strength - Wellbeing for BAME People This is a project by KIRAN Cymru. This project started in March 2021. We aim to combat the adverse effects of COVID 19 pandemic by creating regular and structured opportunities for BAME community members to connect with each other through virtual meet-ups, games, and cultural activities. We offer various opportunities for all BAME people in Wales to connect with other people in virtual social meet-ups, e.g., book clubs, bridge clubs, learning musical instruments, e.g., Piano and Tabla. There is also a community musical group for you to join. As a part of this project, we have started an English Online Magazine called Story Cloud. All community members are encouraged to take part in creative writing. KIRAN Cymru offers free guidance and training on ‘Creative Writing’. It is a beautiful skill and can improve the confidence and self-esteem of the writer. Please get in touch with us if you want to take part in creative writing. Story Cloud will publish the selected short stories, poetry and feature written by community members. Apart from the above, we offer other befriending services for local communities. Our workshops motivate learners to study STEAM by engaging them with “big science”. We expose students to what science is really like and encourage them to continue studying STEAM subjects in school and beyond. Our stunning 3D shows are captivating and informative. The visual impact of the high-tech delivery mechanism will ensure that it captures the attention of students of all ages and abilities. AstroCymru is passionate to raise pupil attainment levels by promoting the many different careers in the space industry from astronauts to various space scientists and engineers through various hands on workshops. Funded by the Welsh Government in 2013 AstroCymru started as project set up by Dr Paul Roche and Emma Wride as part of an outreach arm of the Astronomy Dept. at the University of S. Wales, delivering astronomy related workshops to schools across Wales. Further funding in 2015 allowed the project to expand and become part of the Physics and Astronomy Dept. at Cardiff University. Since 2018 AstroCymru has been a commercial company, continuing to deliver exciting and inspirational STEAM educational programmes to primary and secondary schools, festivals and public events.
