Therapeutic change cannot happen until the emotional arousal is reduced. This is why all health and welfare professionals need to know how to induce the relaxation response in their clients. What comes under the banner of Neurodiversity?
Neurodiversity includes Autism, ADHD, ADD, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dyspraxia, Dysgraphia and other conditions. 
Allow flexibility and creative engagement with induction and on-boarding. Discuss and agree on identified training needs and time frames. Ensure the immediate supervisor or line manager understands the workplace adjustments and support required to best enable the employee in the context of their neurodiversity.
Just because someone is diagnosed or has symptoms which come under Neurodiversity, it does not mean you can find a way to communicate and behave towards them all. 
We make reasonable adjustments to help people with all sorts of different needs. For those with a sore back, we may ensure they can have the right chair. Perhaps, like my sister, they are partially sighted, so you may offer speech-to-text technology on their PC and various accommodations for those who use a wheelchair, and so on.
