Performance is a product of consistent professional training. At EPiC, we have been helping to mould lifestyles and sculpt our members into the best versions of theirselves for years. The EPiC community is a model that has been built around the successes of our coaches, who act as walking examples to how implementing the EPiC way into their lives can draw out the positives in almost any situation. Our coaches have helped thousands of people to develop their own lives by simply following the examples that are set in our classes, our everyday lives and share the success in sport martial art competitions. We have used every setback along the way to come back stronger and in 2019 we opened two fantastic full-time training facilities. Our centre of excellence in Bradley Stoke, Bristol and our state-of-the-art EPiC Gym in Portishead, North Somerset. With just a 15-minute drive separating these two facilities, we have the same core staff working across both centres so that everyone gets a chance to learn from our incredibly experienced and inspirational team. In terms of Martial Arts we have a whole host of World, European and British champions and we have a host of wealth of knowledge in terms of the skills our coaching team have amassed. These include Karate, Kickboxing, Boxing, Kung Fu, Krav Maga, Eskrima and Jiu Jitsu. Our facilties provide the best places to build strength, fitness, Martial Arts skill and to build the best version of you!

It has been called the Perfect Exercise because it’s accessible to everyone, regardless of age or fitness level. The injury rate is low while the health and fitness benefits are high. The art of Tai Chi is probably the best known Chinese method of combining physical motion with mental stimulation and is recognised as one of the most effective approaches to fitness. It is estimated that more than two hundred million people are currently practicing it around the world and this number is ever increasing. Many actions of Tai Chi are based on circular movements which together with subtle shifting of weight develops flexibility and extremely good balance, making it ideal for all ages. It originated in the 17th Century in the Chen Village, China. Although currently better known for its health benefits, Tai Chi was first recognised as a fighting art. It is a graceful, slow-moving exercise and is different from most other forms of movement and exercise because it works directly with ones chi (qi or life force).

Universal Yoga started in 2004 when Charlotta completed her Teacher Training Certificate and moved into the village, initially we ran classes at the Conygre Hall and the Congregational Church Halls in Timsbury, only in 2008 did we get a space of our own at Red Hill, soon outgrown, we decided to move to Dunkerton Hall, a beautiful little parish hall which we get to have all to ourselves. Universal Yoga, as the name implies is a centre for everyone, young and old, pregnant and babies. We are all from the Sivananda lineage and we strongly believe in the yoga of synthesis, meaning that each class should be a combination of postures, relaxation, breathing exercises and sometimes meditation. Both Charlotta and Becky are Senior Yoga Teachers and as such, run a Teacher Training course every year. We believe that nothing should stand between you and your yoga class, so if there are any financial concerns, please get in-touch to see if we can help in some way. Angela Roberts is a long-term student of yoga and it continues to enrich and inspire her life. She has been teaching yoga since the 1990s and runs yoga classes in and around Bath. She is an accredited British Wheel of Yoga teacher, a Senior Yoga Alliance registered teacher and a Yoga Sports Coach. She has completed Paul Harvey's 3-year Professional Yoga Teaching and Therapeutic Healthcare Training Programme and continues to study with Paul (whose teacher was Desikachar). She is also co-director and teacher trainer on the 200 hour, Yoga Alliance registered, Yoga Bodhi Teacher Training Course held in Bath and a Yoga for Healthy Lower Backs teacher. She first came to yoga as a teenager through her interest in spirituality and meditation and her love of movement and dance later led her to asana practice. She is particularly interested in working with the breath and practising pranayama. She has had the privilege of studying under many wise and amazing teachers from different traditions but increasingly with those who directly follow the teachings of Śrī T Krishmacharya. Angela encourages enquiry and discovery, looking for ways to uncover and free tension patterns, to observe and to allow space for individual growth.

As it stands, the information below relates to our studios based in England but there will be some variation between local studios.
