The Nigerian Yorkshire Communities Network UK CIC(NYCN)was to bridge the gap between Nigerians in Yorkshire,families,students and businesses; over the years the communication gap, domestic and business relationship among Nigerians in Yorkshire have widening and in order to bridge this gap, to bring all Nigerians in Yorkshire under one banner, the network was formed on the 11th October 2020 on the Whatsapp Group Platform thereby adopting the motto “BRIDING THE GAP BETWEEN NIGERIANS IN YORKSHIRE”. As we continue grow day by day we really appreciate your support to all our programmes, projects and our network all Nigerians in Yorkshire, under one universal communication platform our Nigerian members would be able to advertise their business with the support of NYCN, also our network is open to all families, students to support with community issues resolution,vital information dissemination to all Nigerians such as support fellow Nigerians with event, passport information.

Thread Republic is an affiliate of Mend Assembly (Totnes, Devon) along with Stitch Department (Ryde, Isle of Wight). Each group takes a local approach, working in our communities to offer alternatives to clothing consumption, use and disposal. Our shared knowledge will enable us to collaborate, explore and implement solutions to address issues of textile waste, lack of basic sewing and mending skills and clothing over-consumption. We are collaborative project bringing together creative practitioners, designer-makers, consultants and workshop leaders with a shared aim to provide goods and services which offer an alternative to the traditional linear lifecycle of our clothing and textiles. We believe in circular solutions. By celebrating the art of making, repair and repurposing we can ensure pieces stay in our lives for longer to be cherished and used frequently. Thread Republic is combining our joint expertise to build a community of like-minded makers, upcyclers, artists, crafters, alteration experts, menders and teachers who want to create and innovate together.

Our original mission was to become a centre of excellence for the whole city of Bradford and we have worked hard to secure a national reputation for learning enhanced by technology. Student attainment has always been high and we are proud of our long history of excellent GCSE and A Level results and also the value that is added to our children from starting point. For over 30 years, the academy has continued to take its role in the community very seriously and is proud to be the founding member of the Dixons Academies Trust, which currently has 12 schools in Bradford and Leeds. We have a healthy respect for our proud history and have learnt so much from our many years of independence. English Language Centre CIC is a registered Community Interest Company - a social enterprise where any profits generated are reinvested back into providing more opportunities. We believe that too many valuable members of our communities throughout the UK (and abroad), find it difficult to integrate and/or find sustainable, rewarding employment. For each individual facing either protracted unemployment and/or marginalisation within our communities, this is a tragedy that can impact their entire lives. There are also the wider economic and social costs to consider. There are a great number of specific reasons why people can struggle to integrate and access the sort of job opportunities they would like, but being unable to communicate effectively is the most fundamental barrier of all. Much of our focus is therefore involved in improving communication and language skills. English Language Centre CIC benefits from over thirty years of experience in English language education, training and consultancy, both in the UK and abroad. This experience enables us to help people improve their language and communication skills, and so build the foundations for better lives and better communities.

The African Caribbean Achievement Project (ACAP) was set up in 1995 to promote and raise the educational development of people of African & Caribbean descent. We are an education-based charity that has fought for racial justice and equality in education since we started and continue to do so to this day. We are a volunteer-led service and provide mentoring, advocacy and educational support to young people. We also provide advocacy and support services to parents as well as a range of other activities Over the years the service has developed to include young people from all sections of the community and not just African and Caribbean young people. Our service is inclusive and we assist all young people to realise their full potential in all areas of their lives.
