Our work takes place at our venue, a grade II listed textile mill in Halifax. Here you will find our art school with extensive creative production facilities and equipment, our gallery where creative practices and processes are shared and showcased as well as our artist studios, where 20 artists and creative practitioners make their work. Our work also takes place out in the community at schools and community venues, online and in peoples homes. Artworks is a community interest company so we don't work for profit. The income we generate is used to support the communities we are established to serve. Thanks to our funding partners and supporters we are able to make many of our activities free. Where we don’t receive any subsidy we make sure that access is affordable while always paying artists a fair rate.

We are exploring craftivism, meditation, mindfulness, climate change, wellbeing, Christian spirituality and much more. We create free mindfulness, meditation and craftivist resources, which are available on our blog. We also run in person events on these themes as well as wellbeing sessions for different groups. Basically, this means that some of the poorest farming communities in the world will be able to set up their own ‘Farmers’ Voice Radio Stations’ – using the free resources and help that we’ll be able to provide! As a small charity, we don’t believe in feathering our own nest. And we do believe that all our learning and the resources that we have created through our ground-breaking programme should get to those who need it the most. At no cost to them.
