Finalist for Best Educational Programme for the NHS HSJ Partnership Awards 2023  Essentials in Communication and Co-production with Parents/Carers is an inspiring, interactive and unique 4-hour virtual (or 6/7 hour in-person), CPD-certified training founded on lived experience, research and best practice. It aims to equip practitioners to effectively communicate and work in collaboration with parent/carers of children/adults who have disabilities.  When time and resources are limited, maximising interactions with family/carers is essential in an age where co-production, personalised care and understanding lived experience are at the heart of delivering good services. Host of the popular The Skies We’re Under Podcast, Rachel’s a passionate speaker, trainer, qualified nurse and unqualified mum of three; one who has severe disabilities, life-limiting epilepsy and an addiction to the gameshow Pointless.  An expert through lived experience, Rachel leads Born at the Right Time to support families of people with complex disabilities whilst also Bridging the Gap between them and the practitioners who support them through CPD certified training, influencing policy makers and turning rhetoric into reality.

When you get to Moor St, go down the hill to the side of the station towards the multi-storey car park. At the car park, go left under the railway bridge. This intensive course combines the best of on demand, online training with the opportunity for practical hands on learning. Two days online independent learning will prepare you for three days in-person training. During the course you will develop your understanding of sitting and the often forgotten lying posture. Assessment techniques, tools and outcome measures are covered including training in the use of the Goldsmith Indices of Body symmetry.

Our *NEW* Mini First Aid Baby Proofing class is our second class, designed for parents and carers of babies and children over 3 months. It can be taken after our 2 hour Baby and Child First Aid class, or in isolation for those parents who are starting their weaning journey, or have a baby on the move!

This 2 - 2-5 hour course is designed is designed to provide parents and carers with the opportunity to: Develop the basic skills and knowledge needed to deal with a wide range of emergency paediatric First Aid situations, which could arise when looking after babies and children. The course can take place in in a community group or in the comfort of your home, with family and friends who maybe caring for your child or they may have children of their own. The course can be booked during the week, week nights or weekends, with or without children present. The idea is to bring the skills and knowledge to you, in your normal routine.
