School of Coding provides education using digitalization to give their students transferable skills which will provide them with equal opportunities as to be successful in the workplace of the future, people will need to have the right digital education. Mental WealthThe Mental Wealth Project is a mental health literacy education programme for young people. The aim is to equip young people and their families with knowledge, tools and skills to reduce stigma, improve wellbeing, spot warning signs of mental distress, and enhance access to the right care and support when they need it. Le Va delivers tailored face-to-face workshops in secondary schools, sports-clubs, churches and other community settings. This Mental Wealth website was designed to complement these workshops. Because the online world is a significant community for young people, The Mental Wealth Project also includes social media and gaming as important things that can impact on mental health and wellbeing. The team at Le Va co-designed and tested the programme over 2 years (2017-2018) with young people, Pasifika and Māori rangatahi, parents, teachers, secondary schools, rugby league clubs, sports coaches, clinicians, mental health organisations, gamers, suicide prevention specialists and cultural knowledge holders. As a result my teaching is personalised to each student and draws on their strengths. My philosophy is that if your child doesn't understand something, then it is up to me to teach it differently. In addition to assessing, teaching and supporting individual children, I provide training and guidance for parents, teachers and support staff. Qualifications The field of dyslexia is ever evolving and I am committed to keeping up to date with the latest developments. As an Associate Member of the BDA (AMBDA), my continuing professional development is verified by the BDA every 3 years. I appear on both the BDA and PATOSS registers.
