We are a UK Film & TV Agency specialising in “on the move” filming. This ranges from a routes library of film-friendly driving routes, consultancy services, training and a talent agency service. For each route through our library, we offer 4K dash cam footage (front & rear footage in day and night views), a digital map and supporting documents for the locations team on the day. We are innovating the way in which we scout for “on the move” locations. We hope to also increase the training offered & level of knowledge in this area among film crew Oliver Laurenson-Gore – Location Manager & Scout set up Location Routes in early 2022 after his experience of working on PIRATES (BFI/BBC Films) back in 2019 & 2020. This roadtrip from North to Central London involving a car being the central aspect of the film. made him understand the challenges of “filming on the move”. He often found from his own experience that it was challenging to show Directors and other creatives involved suitable roads without recording the route. There was also a number of times in his career that he had to change the route last minute which has caused additional stress and wasted shooting time. Why offer this service and is it needed? Think of how many Film & TV shows that have any form of vehicles driving or stunt scenes on roads…it’s most shows! Roads are getting more difficult to find with more lane reduction programmes and cycle lanes in cities and towns across the UK. "We encourage, enable, develop, mentor, facilitate, empower and support local creative arts practitioners from a wide range of backgrounds." Since our Foundation, in September 2014, we have staged over 120 exhibitions showcasing a varied body of work, by artists both emerging and established. Encompassing a diverse and multi-disciplinary range of artistic practices including: Painting, Sculpture, Printmaking, Illustration, Photography, Sound, Video and Performance Art. A comprehensive list of all of our past exhibitions can be found under 'Portfolio'. Our overarching ‘Philosophy’ is to actively encourage, enable, develop, mentor, facilitate, empower and support local creative arts practitioners from a wide range of background with a priority to engage in discussion around accessibility within the arts in relation to mental health, financial hardship and institutional bias. We have also provided work placements to a number of European students, via the Erasmus + and Gecko programme. Partnering with local Venues, Institutes and schools , we aim to develop a strong community that has access to free space, free mentoring and the ability to grow and learn from each others valuable experience and skills. The spaces are offered for hire and for free depending on the nature of the request and is offered to both emerging artists or collectives that deserve a space to explore and harness potential, or established artists with a strong visual aesthetic. Our initiative is to offer this space first and foremost to west-midlands based artists who wish to strengthen their local artistic community and create a discourse for regeneration. We curate approx one show per month in our two exhibition spaces and these are either from chosen submitted proposals or from exceptional and forward thinking artists that we find on our travels. In-between these exhibitions we encourage groups or collectives with a passion for community welfare and development to use the spaces for poetry , music, discussions, rehearsals , workshops or their own curatorial interests. The Clean Kilo concept began simply over conversation between us (Jeanette and Tom) because we desperately felt like we needed to do something about the amount of plastic which ends up in the environment. We had been racking our brains for a while, sometimes coming up with little inventions which could help people cut down on plastic use; we even floated the idea of a toothbrush with a changeable head until we realised someone else had already done it! With the frivolous use of unnecessary plastic for food packaging that we had seen, (items like single bell peppers in shrink wrap) Jeanette asked the question, 'Why is there not a supermarket with no plastic packaging?'. This then quickly reminded Tom of a bulk shop that he visited frequently during his time as a chemistry PhD student in Australia. Tom had always pondered about how great it would be to have this in the UK, however, with no previous business background it seemed a ridiculous thought to embark on such a project. Jeanette had been instrumental in all areas of small businesses during her career and so her experience in marketing and design meant that we made the perfect team to make The Clean Kilo: Zero Waste Supermarket become a reality in Birmingham.
