Employment We have an impressive record for graduate employment, with 96.5% of our undergraduate and 96.6% of postgraduate students in work or further study within fifteen months after graduating (HESA Graduate Outcomes 2019/20, UK domiciled, other activities excluded). The University places a great deal of importance on industry experience and therefore 100% of our undergraduate students have the opportunity to undertake professional work experience during their studies. Enjoyable Since 2008, £156 million has been spent on campus development making sure our students have access to some of the best facilities in the country. Our campus also has a vibrant social scene and we have a very active Students’ Union with more than 110 clubs and societies. Enterprising The University is growing its reputation as a leader in the field of enterprise. In 2012 the University was awarded the prestigious Times Higher Education Entrepreneurial University of the Year and followed this up in 2013 and 2022 when it was awarded a Queen’s Awards for Enterprise: International Trade. Professor Liz Towns-Andrews, 3M Professor of Innovation, also received an individual Queen’s Award for Enterprise Promotion. Then in 2019 our Vice-Chancellor, Professor Bob Cryan, won the Examiner Business Person of the Year award. Kidz@Play is an established family business for over 30 years originating in Maynooth Co. Kildare. Kidz@Play Kilcock began in Scoil Chóca Naofa and through this, formed strong partnerships with primary schools in the area. The partnership with the Primary school is positive for children and families with many children moving on to primary school from Kidz@Play Playschool. We also operate an afterschool within the school where children can play relax and complete homework with the familiar Kidz@Play team. Kidz@Play History Evelyn developed the business originally from a home-based playschool. Through training and development as well as being the chairperson of the national organisation IPPA Evelyn developed and moved firstly to a rented unit in Maynooth and then to a full day purpose setting in Maynooth. The development of Kidz@Play Kilcock, over 8 years ago brought a unique partnership within the primary school and the service is now embedded within the Kilcock community. Evelyn holds a MA in Humanities in Early Childhood Care & Education, a BA ECEC, delivers training and lectures in the field of early childhood care and education. Evelyn also worked for the Department of Education and Skills inspecting the educational quality dimension to early years practice. Jess has a unique experience background as she came to work as a four-week-old baby with her mother as she ran the original home-based playschool. So, we can say Jess was born into the business! Jess continued to expand her knowledge by obtaining an Honours degree in Montessori Education age 3-12, gained experience in different settings, Montessori preschools and primary schools, play based playschools and primary school junior classes and successfully managed summer camps for large companies. Jess holds a MA in Education specialising in the Early Years (2019) from Maynooth University. Jess manages the Kilcock Kidz@Play service delivering both preschool and afterschool. Jess took over the helm as general manager and owner during Evelyn’s inspection period. Now together this vastly experienced mother daughter team have pooled skills and experience to form a Company that will guarantee the highest quality in the delivery of education and care in the Newtown hall site. Together with a highly qualified staff team which are experienced qualified and working in Kidz@Play for many years. Early year’s educators working in Kidz@Play are experienced and hold Honours degrees, QQI Level 5 and 6 and both services have LINC Co-coordinators as inclusive services. As a member of Early Childhood Ireland, we create a welcoming environment for children through our play based emergent curriculum where children’s interests, development and rights are central to our philosophy and in line with the national curriculum framework for early years Aistear. The testimonials of local families to the quality of education and care in Kidz@Play can be seen in returning family and friends over the years with several parents who attended Kidz@Play themselves now sending their own children. Kidz@Play Maynooth Within the Maynooth community Kidz@Play have made solid links with local primary schools and support the children’s transitions to national school. Kidz@Play also support the local post-primary school through fundraising events such as cake sales and sponsorship for the musical and sponsored walk. Transition year students are also always welcome in Kidz@Play during work experience. Kidz@Play continue to improve quality through an excellent inspectors report and a commitment to the provision of a partnership approach with parents and families of children attending Kidz@Play.

We provide an exceptional education in an environment that challenges all students and fosters ambition. Nature of the school and location Oldfield School is a successful, high attaining 11-18 mixed comprehensive with 1250 students located in the historic city of Bath. The school campus is on the outskirts of the north-west of the city and we benefit from a large, semi-rural setting with excellent transport links for students and staff. The school has an attractive, open and dispersed site. A notable feature is the location of teaching rooms and our Sixth Form in Penn House, an 18th century Georgian manor house. Our school has an excellent reputation locally and in the wider community for academic excellence and the quality of pastoral care and support. The school has with a comprehensive intake which reflects the diversity of the local community. The most recent Ofsted inspection was in January 2020, when the school was judged to be good in all areas. A feature of the inspection report was the inclusive nature of the school and the sense of community felt by staff and students. Inspectors commented that staff were overwhelmingly positive about the support that they receive from leaders and on how friendly and welcoming the school is for staff. Oldfield is a school where staff development is an essential feature. The teaching and support staff at the school are an excellent team who work well together to provide opportunities for students to achieve or exceed their potential. The needs of our students are paramount and this is recognised by all staff, who have a common view that only the best is good enough. We have a commitment to sharing good practice in developing leaders, teachers and support staff. The school has a successful and popular Sixth Form of 190 students. We offer a wide range of A Level courses and opportunities for our sixth form students and all faculties offer A Level courses. A Level classes are relatively small, which provides a personalised learning experience for our students. Curriculum The curriculum for Key Stage 3 follows the National Curriculum. Students study either Spanish or French throughout Key Stage 3 with the more able studying both languages. A wide range of courses additional to the core subjects are offered at Key Stage 4. Students are encouraged to study humanities and languages and the great majority do so. There is setting in ability groups in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 where appropriate. Almost all Key Stage 4 examination entries are GCSEs, Year 10 and 11 students typically study 9/10 GCSEs. Subjects are organised in six learning areas with the Leaders of Learning line-managed by the Senior Leadership Team (SLT). Pastoral Care Students remain in the same tutor group throughout their school career. The Heads of Year are responsible for the pastoral care of around 200-224 students from Years 7 to 11. The pastoral leaders are supported and line managed by a member of the SLT. We also have a House system to encourage a sense of community. The four houses are led by a Head of House and there are regular inter-house competitions and fund raising events. Resources and Accommodation The provision of high quality resources is a priority for the school. There are specialist teaching rooms for all subjects and most teachers have their own teaching room. ICT facilities are excellent with specialist ICT teaching rooms as well as comprehensive ICT facilities in many general teaching rooms. The school is very well maintained, ensuring that learning spaces of the highest possible standard are a priority. Oldfield School is a fantastic place to work. Students are keen and helpful and staff are enthusiastic and dedicated to bringing about the highest quality learning outcomes for our students.

First Aid News and UpdatesFirst aid training is something many people see as necessary workplace training. It is so much more than that for our Managing Director, Keith Sleightholm. Many years ago, Keith was driving home when a very drunk driver travelling down the wrong side of the road smashed into Keith's car. For twenty minutes, Keith was trapped in the vehicle and nobody stopped to offer comfort or help until an off duty nurse and fireman came upon the accident, provided first aid and alerted the EMS.

The Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Temporomandibular Disorders (ACPTMD) was launched in November 2009 and is a group of Chartered Physiotherapists with a specialist interest in the expert management of Temporomandibular Disorders (TMD) who work in the NHS or in Private practice. Our launch was facilitated by the Clinical Lead, Mr Stephen Davies, and Speciality dentist, Ms. Anne Budenburg , both based at the Manchester Dental Hospital Temporomandibular Clinic.
