I am passionate about resilience and helping people understand how important resilience is in our lives. I studied with some of the leading international experts working to promote resilience. For the last 5 years I have been actively promoting resilience with individuals, families, organisations and communities. I had spent many years working in the field of positive psychology and therapy and it was here in Barcelona that I discovered the world of resilience and was lucky enough to attend the first post graduate course in the Promotion of Resilience at the University of Barcelona. This allowed me to meet and learn from leading figures in Resilience work in Europe and Latin America and the most generous teachers. I also studied a postgraduate diploma in mental health and migration. Moving around can bring opportunity but also challenges. I have lived in many countries and met a lot of diverse and truly inspiring people in different cultures and languages. Living an international life can feel like an amazing adventure but also comes with its challenges and I have worked with many individuals and families over the years helping them to find their feet again. Life experience, literature, music and films have always fed my resilience work but I have been studying and researching along the way to back up my instincts with analysis and ideas based on theory and practice. ABOUT MCT FITNESS My name is Matt Colligan - I'm a Level 3 Personal Trainer, soon to be Level 4 Nutrition Coach, Boot Camp Instructor and owner of MCT Fitness. Having served with the Royal Marines Commandos, I have gained knowledge and expertise in coaching people in reaching their full physical potential whilst also creating the right mindset to succeed! MCT Fitness is a Wirral based company that is dedicated to promoting an active and healthy lifestyle, through fitness classes, personal training and nutrition coaching. As sessions are only run by myself, I get to know my clients' strengths and weaknesses, therefore, I'm able to offer a high level of coaching to reach personal goals. The majority of MCT Fitness classes are conducted outside. Data suggests that outdoor fitness can help you stick with regular physical activity because of the feel-good factor. The oxygen boost you get from the fresh air gets the serotonin flowing. MCT Fitness caters for all fitness levels and sessions are as easy or as hard as you make them. You can burn anywhere between 500 to 800 calories depending on your body type and your effort level. I believe what you put into the session is exactly what you get out of the session! 1 - 1 personal training and nutrition coaching is carried out at the MCT Private PT Studio or online to suit your needs. My unique and compassionate style of coaching helps clients to build their competence and autonomy in what they are doing which leads to results! Training with MCT Fitness is a great way to meet new people and the sense of camaraderie will encourage you to keep going, even when your body is protesting.
