It is with great pleasure and much pride that I welcome you to Avonbourne Boys’ and Girls’ Academies website. We are proud to be two non-selective 11-18 schools based in Bournemouth and incredibly privileged to be part of the multi–Academy Trust, United Learning. Avonbourne Academies are also extremely fortunate to be part of the Bournemouth and Poole Cluster, where we work closely, and share good practice with Glenmoor and Winton Academies, Avonwood Primary School and The Cornerstone Academy. At Avonbourne Academies, we believe that every child matters and every lesson counts, and we believe in the importance of creating well - rounded citizens who achieve academic excellence. Avonbourne is a highly inclusive school that caters for the needs of all students. We ensure our most able students are stretched academically and students with special educational needs and disabilities are expertly supported, allowing the Academies to ensure the best in everyone. We were delighted to celebrate excellent GCSE and A level results in the Summer showing the huge improvement already achieved at the Academies. Avonbourne Boys' and Girls' Academies are two co - located schools that joined United Learning in 2019 with lessons being taught in a single - sex environment in Years 7-9, with opportunities for mixed sex teaching from Year 10 onwards . This has proved to be hugely successful with resources, staffing expertise and curriculum opportunities now being fully utilised for the benefit of all students at the Academies. Co-location has been seen by all stakeholders as offering the ‘best of both’, which I believe provides our students with the best possible chance of educational success. The school also hosts the United Sixth Form and provides teaching of the highest quality, excellent facilities, a caring and supportive environment, as well as delivering a comprehensive range of social and enrichment activities. The Sapphire Project Organisation is an exciting new modern-day service for adults age 18 and over living with a learning disability. We want to understand what people want from their support, and to make sure that families and friends know how we will help them to make it happen. We offer a unique learning environment for our service users and although support needs may differ, we know that with the right support, people with learning disabilities can live full and meaningful lives. Aims Our aim is for service users to develop competence, respect, dignity, responsibility, independence and to promote their inclusion within the local working community. Working closely with service users we aim to find out what their passions are and wherever possible assist with overcoming challenges and removing barriers in order to enable them to live more fulfilling lives. What we offer Service users are offered the opportunity to develop transferable work skills, enterprise skills, independence skills, practical skills and social skills all within a variety of settings while being supported by qualified staff. Our project includes a café, a licensed bar and a kitchen garden all of which is open to the general public. We also offer a opportunities to develop general maintenance and wood working skills. Service users also have the opportunity to carry out a number of routine domestic tasks to help develop their independent living skills. These include, planning and shopping, cooking meals, basic housekeeping, getting out and about in the community and residential experiences. We support people in developing work and independence skills whilst having fun and making friends. Our aim is to break down barriers and to promote inclusion within the local community. What Makes Us Unique? We want to offer people the chance to learn valuable life skills along with work skills and our base at Hillsborough Arena provides us with numerous opportunities to achieve this objective. We offer an attractive, non-institutional environment with a team of committed staff with a very low rate of staff turnover, so people can develop strong, beneficial relationships over many years. We also offer a dedicated key worker to overlook and support the needs of both the service user along with the parent/carers. We want to understand what people want from their support, and make sure that families and friends know how we will help them to make it happen. Mindset Matters is designed to instantly target and draw out the limiting beliefs within the student's belief system through an exercise to help them push beyond their comfort zone. We are using intense exercise and boxing as a way to develop new beliefs about what’s possible. We understand all students learn in different ways, which is why we created Mindset Matters. It was to leave no stone unturned so we are able to reach students who are not as engaged with the theoretical side of learning. Through Mindset Matters, we are still able to deliver the same message and philosophy but in a different way. Established in 2012 by Jill Martin Boualaxai and Damian Michael Malone, Look and Draw runs a year round program of exciting and innovative art classes and workshops from Wasps Artists Studios near Haymarket and monthly pop up events at The Safari Lounge in Abbeyhill. Look and Draw classes are brought to you by a group of like minded professional artists who are all passionate about the visual arts and about taking the right approach to drawing and painting. The majority of classes are tutored by Jill Martin Boualaxai. Other ad hoc tutors with Look and Draw are Cat Bruce, Sarah Calmus, Lorna Johnson, Oana Stanciu & Matthew Storstein . We provide a structured and supportive teaching environment that aims to inspire and challenge. HELLO AND WELCOME TO  INTERIOR BOOST, We run paint pouring and resin art workshops for adults of all abilities. You do not need to be experienced to come to our classes as we will guide you every step of the way.  Most workshops are designed for beginners and where more experience is required, the workshops are indicated by levels: * Level 1: beginner * Level 2: intermediate * Level 3: advance Our main aim is to encourage creativity, promote confidence and definitely have fun in a relaxed environment in which to learn new skills.  We run short 2.5 hours course in Bracknell, Berkshire.  Your tutor, Anne is an experienced, fun and enthusiastic. This is our 6th year running our workshops and we love it! Each year we try to offer different workshop themes. This year is no exception!   All equipment and materials required for our classes are provided on the day. We try to keep our group small, to give you as much space as possible, this also allows us to be able to help you should you need it.
