Owner and founder of Mes Amies Dance Company, Amie is a Royal Academy of Dance trained and qualified ballet teacher. She has over 10 years experience teaching both adults and children in a variety of disciplines. Heidi Heidi has trained in Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Modern, Contemporary, Commercial Jazz, Street dance and Hiphop. Dream Academy is a Performing Arts School offer classes from 18 months right through to adults. We provide workshop style classes consisting of Singing, Dance and Drama to give a full creative experience for all performing arts students. All students perform a live summer show each year to give our students the platform to present their new found confidence and skills. We are also involved in varying external projects in Kent including; charity events, community fares and much more. 344 DANCE SCHOOL is based at DANCE STATION, Alexandra Park, Fishponds, a building comprising 3 fully equipped dance studios, a lecture and music room, changing rooms, rest areas, a studio theatre and a Dancewear shop - KATHY'S DANCEWEAR. Our lessons also operate in rented premises in 8 branches covering the Bristol area:- Church House, Long Ashton The Village Hall, Emersons Green Holy Trinity Church, Bradley Stoke The Batch, Warmley 467c Wells Road, Knowle The Village Hall, Wickwar Children and adults can learn for fun or they can take advantage of the many opportunities offered to them including exams with the ISTD, RAD, LAMDA and LCM; shows; competitions; workshops and masterclasses; summer schools and many other performance opportunities. All our exams are held at our own premises as we are an Approved Exam Centre for all the above examining boards. Our founder, Leonie Urdang moved to London from South Africa to escape the social effects that Apartheid had on people of all classes and ethnicities. When Leonie started the Urdang Academy in 1970 her vision was to break barriers that segregated the dance world, which at that time only accepted a particular type of person with a certain look. She looked beyond the surface and saw the individual, laying this as the founding ethos of her school. The only thing that has changed since then is that the theatre world has caught up with that vision. Increasingly shows are about characters and personalities – dancers that can sing or singer-actors that can dance – and the performers in demand are those whose personality (combined with talent) shine out.
