Escape Dance Academy and Performing Arts was Established in 2015, by Ashleigh and Nicole Archbold & And has now opened its doors to its very own studios 10/9/16 Both teachers have been involved in dance from the early age of 3 in which they have dedicated themselves to the profession. Ashleigh has a BSc Sport & Exercise Science Degree in which she studied Physiology, Anatomy, Biomechanics, Psychology and Nutrition all in which is envitable in helping towards creating successfull dancers. Nicole is also currently studying at University in which she is studying BA Honours Degree in Dance. We at Escape are dedicated to providing the highest level of teaching possible. Both teachers currently hold teaching qualifications with the United Kingdom Alliance and are also part of the ADFP - a board dedicated to overseeing Disco Freestyle. From a young age the teachers have also competed in many comeptitions, winning many titles all over Great Britain & Ireland, including The World Championships, Great British Championships, The European Championships, DKKQ at the Blackpool Tower and many more. They have also taken numerous dance exams in many different dance styles. As well as this, they have performed in shows and Pantomines in many theatres including The Liverpool Empire, The Royal Court & The London Palladium to name just a few. Escape Dance Academy and Performing Arts was created in order to provide quality dance classes to children across Liverpool and Sefton, it was always a dream of Ashleigh and Nicole to build a successful school in which would show there passion and dedication to dance. As a school we aim to provide the best for our students, we are dedicated to providing support to our students and offer dance classes which they can be excited about. We encourage are students to be free and hard working, we enable an environment that allows them to Escape there fears and live in the moment. As a dance school we provide many different styles of dance each offering there own individual creativity for the student to express. We have a annual summer show in which the whole school participates in and also have a competitive team in which we attend competitions all over England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. There is also the oppurtunity to travel further a field to places including Norway and Spain. Escape Dance Academy provides a great atmosphere for both students and parents. We are here to provide the best in every way in which to build an exciting future for not only the dance school but also its students. Here at GMUA we offer high-quality VTCT accredited makeup and hair qualifications taught by highly experienced industry professionals covering all genres of makeup from Instagram to editorial, fashion and film where we have established ourselves in Liverpool with over four years of experience as Global Makeup Hair and Productions Academy. Our courses are open to all, no matter your race, gender, nationality or background; we seek to empower and train everyone with passion. The heartbeat of the company is the heart of a lioness; ‘we seek to make everyone look and feel beautiful’. Victoria’s career started when she was 13 assisting her mum Hairdresser and Makeup artist Miriam Bartholomew on a Ridley Scott Associates commercial in Cape town. She was a runner and fell in love with film and continued in the film industry for over 17 years working as a leading chief hair and/or makeup artist on many music video’s including Robbie Williams “Rock D.J” and “Millennium”, as well as Texas ‘Inner Smile”. She has also worked with many high profile film directors such as Vaughan Arnell, Ridley Scott Associates, Tony Kaye and Jean-Paul Goude on many commercials around the world including British Airways, Virgin, L’Oreal, Audi and many more. Her training started by assisting Miriam Bartholomew (her mother and top hair and makeup artist in Cape Town S.A) for beautiful hair and makeup, as well as Dulcie Bebe in Australia for Makeup and Hair training with Toni and Guy London after studying specialist hair colour training with David Bartholomew ( her dad) Nominated in Sydney Australia for colourist of the year for Wella international. Victoria continued to work in film, fashion and commercials in the hair and makeup industry in cape town, Sydney and then returning to live in London for 5 years before moving to West Yorkshire then Liverpool. Her love of film grew and she embarked on a series of courses through Raindance Film in Soho, completing the Directing for Film and Producing course while working for them. This took her onto her next challenge choreography where she worked at London’s premier dance school on Oxford street London Dance works and learnt from the best contemporary dance teachers what works for theatre, film and music video’s understanding the different dance disciplines from ballet to hip hop. Following all of her incredible achievements, Victoria then decided to pass on her hair and makeup knowledge to the next generation and completed her Diploma in Teaching while lecturing as the lead makeup tutor for Riverside College in Cheshire up until August 2016 and from then on went on to create Global Makeup, Hair and Productions Academy Ltd.

The Walking with Giants Foundation was founded by Sue and John Connerty in 2008. In 2005, their son Alex was born with an unknown condition, however just over a year later he was pre-diagnosed with a condition called Microcephalic Primordial Dwarfism Type II, their son’s doctors at Alder Hey Hospital in Liverpool explained that he was the first child to be pre-diagnosed with the condition in the UK. At the time there was little information the doctors could give them about Alex’s condition and many questions asked by Sue and John were left unanswered. For their son, Alex, the condition meant that he spent a lot of time in hospital with serious health issues. In those first years of bewilderment and anxiety, John and Sue set on a mission to find out more information. In July 2007, Sue, John and Alex went to America on a journey of discovery that would change their lives positively forever. They got to meet other parents and children with the same or similar condition as Alex. Furthermore, they got to meet the few medical experts in the world who had experience, knowledge and understanding of Microcephalic Primordial Dwarfism Type II. Not all their questions were answered but they received enough information to allow them to care for Alex and move forward!

At the age of three I put on my first dance shoes and no one has been able to get me out of them since! From festivals, competitions, shows, pantomimes, and exams I couldn't get enough. I knew from a young age I wanted to share my passion with the world and therefore was determined to educate myself on how to teach performing arts. There has been much research on the positive effects of music for our health and happiness BBC News reported on research from a University in Montreal Canada (Nature Neuroscience study) 'An experiment by a primary school in England has revealed that music can also help in improving academic performance among pupils. New Delhi: It is no secret that music has therapeutic effect and can help students in combatting stress. Studies have also revealed that music helps in improving concentration.' After successfully completing a PGDE Teaching Qualification in Dance at Liverpool John Moores University as well as a Degree in Dance, Drama and Performing Arts at Edgehill University. I decided to open my own Dance Academy focusing on inclusivity, learning new skills, a love of music and fitness. I pride myself on having an inclusive academy where EVERYONE MATTERS! I continue my professional development in working with children and young people as I am passionate about each of my pupils reaching their individual potential.
