Browncross Healthcare Limited is an independent healthcare training and employment organisation. We provide comprehensive gateway, healthcare training to future health and social care workers as well as helping them with job search following their training. We also provide in conjunction with our partners, access to funded National Vocational Qualification in Health and Social Care to healthcare assistants. We organise practical/work placements in good healthcare homes for prospective students and staff during their training. We liaise with home managers to arrange a suitable time for when your NVQ assessor can assess you at work. Our registered nurses of different specialties would have been thoroughly vetted against the Nurses and Midwifery Council register. They would have provided satisfactory references from their employers and would have undergone our rigorous registration process. We are an umbrella body with the criminal records bureau and therefore able to assist other organisations to apply for DBS for their staff. We provide continuous developmental courses for interested participants, in order to improve their healthcare knowledge and meet their statutory obligations. About STOP STOP provides world-class teaching in all aspects of the Theatre of the Oppressed (TO), for people who want to incorporate it into their work, whether your background is activism, development, theatre, community, public or social sectors. Building on years of courses led by Augusto Boal and Adrian Jackson, STOP will be the first London organisation exclusively dedicated to the teaching of all aspects of TO. The emphasis will always be on the practice, with a deep grounding in the theory. STOP Co-founder Adrian Jackson enjoyed a close relationship with Augusto Boal during his lifetime. He translated five of Boal’s books into English and collaborated with him on many occasions. Sadly Augusto died in 2009 but his work lives on, and grows and multiplies, through teaching and development. Adrian founded Cardboard Citizens, a trailblazing organisation which used TO with homeless people and migrants for over 30 years. He will lead and oversee STOP courses open to all and with input from leading TO practitioners from all over the world. In our pilot season in autumn / winter 2022, Courses will include intensive training in Forum Theatre, the Rainbow of Desires and TO Jokering (Facilitation). We will also host one international TO practitioner to share their practice with the UK TO community.

Our Dawlish campus is situated in the coastal town of Dawlish near Exeter. It is a short walk from the town centre and the golden beach, with excellent transport links via bus or the Great western train line to Exeter, Plymouth and beyond. At Dawlish we provide learning programmes for around 80 learners, a small number of whom enjoy the residential experience in our onsite shared property, and in single and shared flats and houses in the nearby area. Our Torpoint campus is situated just a short walk from the ferryport and enjoys beautiful views of the River Tamar and beyond. We attract learners from both Plymouth and Cornwall to study here. Students benefit from accessing our local Torpoint community, but also take part in the huge range of trips and activities that Plymouth has to offer. At Oakwood Torpoint we provide learning for up to 25 learners. Torpoint is a day student only campus. Our newest campus, Oakwood Yate, is located in Yate, South Glos. with excellent transport links to Bristol and beyond. The campus benefits from being centrally located in the bustling town centre of Yate with a wide range of shops and leisure facilities providing excellent work experience and community access for our learners. At Oakwood Yate we provide learning for up to 15 learners. Yate is a day student only campus. The College’s focus is to develop the knowledge and skills of every learner to prepare them for independent life, living and work. Smith Vocational and Agricultural High School was established as a result of a bequest in the will of Oliver Smith. Mr. Smith was born in Hatfield, Massachusetts in 1766. He engaged in farming at an early age, and acquired large wealth by stock-raising. He was a magistrate for forty years; twice he was a representative to the legislature; and in 1820, he was a member of the State constitutional convention. He never married and may have been considered eccentric by his neighbors, but he amassed a large fortune, which he bequeathed to establish the "Smith Charities," a unique system of benevolence. At his death in 1845, his estate was valued at nearly $400,000; and the will was contested by his family. Legendary lawyer and legislator Daniel Webster successfully defended the will for the city of Northampton. The fund for the Agricultural School became available for use in 1905, and the amount of $50,000 was turned over to the City of Northampton for the purchase of land on which to build Smith School. The school opened for students in 1908 as the first vocational school in Massachusetts. Since 1845, when the fund to develop an agricultural school was established, Smith Vocational and Agricultural High School has been at the forefront of a movement toward excellence in vocational training. Today, Smith Vocational and Agricultural High School is a public high school for residents of Northampton and tuition students from all of Hampshire County on a "space available" basis. Students spend alternating weeks in shop and academic programs as they prepare for both a high school diploma and a Certificate of Occupational Proficiency. Graduates of Smith School are expected to meet academic standards, achieve occupational competency, develop ready-to-go work skills, and prepare for continuing education. Integration of technology in course work is encouraged, and students have access to state-of-the-art computer labs with Internet capability. A focus on the acquisition of key life skills-good work habits, reliability, self-confidence, resilience, problem-solving-serves to guide students in their personal growth.

In 2020 we all had to make changes to the way we work, the way we live, the way we interact with family, friends, and colleagues, and we’ve all made changes to our wellbeing. When reflecting on what I believe we all need right now, and when I looked to put all my previous experience together, it made absolute sense to put it all together with Body Confidence Wellness. I provide women with Body Confidence & Wellbeing Coaching packages, and a safe & fun environment to exercise together online. What’s safer and more fun than working out in the comfort of your own home? I owned and managed a Curves, Fitness for Women franchise for 5 years, and worked as a Circuit Coach in 2 other Curves franchises before that. It was at Curves that I worked with over 500 women, each one had her own unique requirements and goals. And it was there that I developed a real passion for helping women of all ages, different shapes & sizes, and varied physical abilities to reach their potential. While at Curves, I developed not only my passion for working with women on a physical health level, but I learned that we have to work on ourselves and our confidence from the inside too, on an emotional and mental health level as well! When I discovered the Institute for Body Confidence Coaching™, where I am now certified, everything fell into place! All the work I’d done previously, the love I have for the holistic body, and working with women to achieve their goals and potential. And that’s how Body Confidence Wellness came to be. Liverpool Law Society boasts 2500 or so members in practice; it is one of the largest local Law Societies in England and Wales. Membership is broad and varies from practitioners engaged in high-value commercial work to complex charity work. The Society prides itself in being at the forefront of debate and has been able to communicate on behalf of its members their concerns in a number of areas both public and professional, and at regional and national levels. The directors meet twice a year with local MPs where there is exchange of information, news about bills going through parliament and constituent issues are raised and discussed and parliamentary questions are put down on behalf of LLS members. Separately, the directors also meet with the nominated councillors from the Liverpool City Region local authorities. This again is a useful way of ensuring our members’ concerns and issues, including those of their clients, can be raised at one of these meetings. The councillors also come to the Society with matters their constituents are facing and we work together on joint initiatives where there is a common aim. The Society also has good communication channels with The Law Society, the SRA and the LeO, where members’ issues can be raised and matters affecting the legal profession discussed. On a regional level, Liverpool Law Society is a member of the Joint V, a grouping of autonomous local law societies that meet and discuss common issues affecting membership organisations for legal professionals, sharing best practice. The members of the Joint V are Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, Liverpool and Manchester Law Societies. United the Joint V have a strong voice nationally, representing over 10,000 legal professionals. In addition to our representation role, Liverpool Law Society runs an extensive legal training programme with approximately 100 seminars and conferences organised every year in various specialist areas of law.
