Participants must be competent in written and spoken English (Student are required to undertake a Language, Literacy, and Numeracy test prior to commencing the training). Participants are recommended (but not compulsory) to hold a First Aid certificate (minimum of Level 2) if using a chainsaw. Participants are required to wear sensible work clothes and steel capped boots, and dress according to the weather for their training. Participants are required to bring appropriate sun safety protection. Participants must be physically capable of operating a chainsaw. Participants must be able to physically kneel on the ground & get back up again.

Applicants for a Goods Vehicle Operator’s Licence or Passenger Carrying Vehicle Operator Licence must show that they are ‘professionally competent’ or that they employ a transport manager who meets the requirements. Someone will be considered ‘professionally competent’ when they have passed the examination for the Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) conducted on behalf of the Department for Transport (DfT). Transport Manager CPC as a qualification is a legal requirement in the LGV and PCV industry of the operator licensing system for both Standard National and International licences. In 2018, I went along to the Potters Bar carnival and despite never having done this type of work before, I decided I wanted to join as a carer after seeing all the information and talking to the staff. I was invited to an interview and the rest is history! The company is great, so friendly and flexible to work for. My typical day consists of checking my rota and visiting my regular clients. Each client is different, with morning visits getting people out of bed and feeding them breakfast, lunch time visits can be more about companionship, with evening visits a time to ensure everyone is ready for bed and happy to settle for the evening. I was so scared of changing jobs after 18 years working in retail, however over the past 12 months I’ve built up some amazing relationships with my clients and I know they are so pleased to see me when I visit them in their home. The company has a real open-door policy - all the carers meet on regular basis, and discuss ideas, improvements, clients and have a general catch up over a cuppa. The role is different every day as you are dealing with people and building trust, but it’s so rewarding and I would thoroughly recommend Wilnash – a great family feel company, who have given me the confidence and skills I need to carry out this role. Universal Yoga started in 2004 when Charlotta completed her Teacher Training Certificate and moved into the village, initially we ran classes at the Conygre Hall and the Congregational Church Halls in Timsbury, only in 2008 did we get a space of our own at Red Hill, soon outgrown, we decided to move to Dunkerton Hall, a beautiful little parish hall which we get to have all to ourselves. Universal Yoga, as the name implies is a centre for everyone, young and old, pregnant and babies. We are all from the Sivananda lineage and we strongly believe in the yoga of synthesis, meaning that each class should be a combination of postures, relaxation, breathing exercises and sometimes meditation. Both Charlotta and Becky are Senior Yoga Teachers and as such, run a Teacher Training course every year. We believe that nothing should stand between you and your yoga class, so if there are any financial concerns, please get in-touch to see if we can help in some way.
