University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW) is the newly merged Trust comprising University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust and Weston Area Health NHS Trust. Bringing together a combined workforce of over 13,000 staff, the new Trust delivers over 100 different clinical services across 10 different sites serving a core population of more than 500,000 people. With services from the neonatal intensive care unit to care of the elderly, we provide care to the people of Bristol, Weston and the south west from the very beginning of life to its later stages. Our staff are the lifeblood of our Trust. They provide general diagnostic, medical and surgical services to the populations of central Bristol, south Bristol and North Somerset. These services are delivered from our Bristol city centre campus and Weston General Hospital with some services delivered in community settings such as South Bristol Community Hospital. We also provide specialist services such as children's services, cardiac and cancer services, and other smaller specialist services that are nationally commissioned, to a wider population through the south west and beyond. Joining together as one provides us with an exciting and unique opportunity to take everything that's good about Weston and UH Bristol, to create something even better, which is seen as a beacon for outstanding education, research and innovation. The information on this website about our Bristol services remains correct and will continue to be updated.

The Climate Centre’s mission is to help the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and its partners reduce the impacts of climate change and extreme-weather events on vulnerable people. In recent decades, there has been a sharp increase in weather-related disasters with climate change and there is an urgent need to manage the rising risk of extreme-weather events through better early-warning, disaster relief and risk reduction, and with climate-smart programmes for health and care, water and sanitation, and food security. Our approach, working at the intersection of science, policy, and practice, is detailed in our Strategy 2021−2025. A core objective is to make the best global scientific insights operable at local level. Key elements include support for awareness-raising and capacity-building, especially in developing countries whose people are the most vulnerable to climate change. Policy needs to be geared toward climate-smart planning, including better dialogues involving a wide range of stakeholders. The Climate Centre focuses primarily on providing guidance and tools to National Societies and their partners, and fostering the exchange of experience, training and technical back-up for Red Cross Red Crescent volunteers, delegates and managers specializing in disaster risk management and health. In the international arena we facilitate access to climate-related channels of funding and advocate for support to the most vulnerable people in debates on climate policy, especially the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and the annual UN climate talks, but also related international discussions on development and humanitarian policy and finance.

Wells

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to The Blue School website. The Blue is a remarkable school. Our school is built around our collective community of wonderful individuals, working toward a shared vision. That makes our school a vibrant and exciting place to study and work. The Blue has served the City of Wells and its surrounding communities since 1641. That history is important to us. It creates an exceptionally strong common ethos that binds generations of families, all of whom have passed through the school. Our core values – respect, empathy, politeness – have been fundamental to the school for over three centuries and continue to serve our community well. Building on our status as a Research School, we have established ourselves as a centre of excellence for teaching. Our broad, creative curriculum strives to give our students a social and academic belonging. Combining close, personal pastoral care, with high academic standards, our students develop the wide range of skills necessary to thrive in the modern world and lead a physically, mentally and spiritually healthy life. We are proud to be a Church school and believe that this supports the emphasis on our core values for all our students. Developing a community belonging for students of a Christian or non-Christian faith, and for those of not faith, remains very important to us. Carers Count is a not for profit organisation that supports unpaid carers within Kirklees. We are managed by and operate under the Cloverleaf Advocacy umbrella and work closely with a wide range of professional health and care services, Kirklees Council, charities and community groups to provide support for unpaid carers. Carers Count works with carers who are aged 18 and over and give their time to someone with a physical disability, long-term illness, an older person, a child with additional needs, a learning disability and/or a mental health issue (including dementia). We are also able to provide assistance to someone even after they cease caring for whatever reason. Our dedicated team is on hand to offer advice, information, advocacy, support groups and activities for unpaid carers across Kirklees. We are experts in our fields and cover everything related to an unpaid carers role from benefits advice, raising awareness for carers, meditation sessions and wellbeing support, to understanding your rights as a carer. Everyone in the Carers Count team is hugely committed to supporting carers in whichever ways we can and it's our mission to raise awareness of carer issues - working in partnership with carers and on their behalf when they feel their voice is not being heard. Thank you for the support I have taken from my involvement with Carers Count and the courses I have taken with you over the years. What you do is so needed by carers and I never felt totally alone in all these years.
