A country house in extensive grounds of flat playing fields and woods to roam in. It was 1972, innocent times maybe. Not in retrospect. Neither innocent or idyllic. Abandonment is what I call it now. Dropped off and left in an idyllic country house setting.&nbsp;</p><p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">It took me until my mid-fifties to start to properly re-evaluate the true impact of my boarding school experience. I have been doing the work now for five years and the lifting of hitherto unseen and inexplicably heavy burdens has been transformational to me and the important relationships I have with my wife, my family and friends.&nbsp;</p><p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">When I write, I make creative and imaginative inroads into the deep tissue damage of my boarding school experience. Heeding is neither correcting what is deficient, nor translating symptoms into conclusive interpretations. &nbsp;Instead, the therapoet resides in a clearing, or space, where what shows itself can do so as it is, in its own way, without explanation, justification or expectation. We companion with others and follow phenomena of concern wherever they take us. He teaches philosophical foundations of practices of care, ethics, loss and mourning, psychology and spirituality, psychopathology, among other courses, all from a human science perspective, and with a particular focus on therapoetic care. He is a licensed psychologist, supervisor, consultant, and former chaplain, with over thirty-five years of experience. He holds degrees in continental and comparative philosophy of religion and existential-hermeneutical-phenomenological human science clinical psychology and integrates these approaches as a way of caring for such experiences as the impossible (no way out, boundary or limited situations), extreme experiences (such as psychosis, nihilism, suicidal and homicidal ideation), and the taboo (the places no one wants to go: the unwanted and unacceptable, unsayable, unforgiveable, forbidden, and irreverent). He regularly presents workshops in several international venues such as the Circulo de Estudios en Psicoterapia Existential, in Mexico City, Mexico, the Zhi Mian International Institute of Existential-Humanistic Psychology in Dali, China, and the Centre for Existential Practice in Melbourne, Australia. He is widely published and has written on caring for others in very difficult situations including traumatic loss, surviving the COVID-19 pandemic, and meaninglessness. He has also written a short dialogue with Miles Groth, edited by Loray Daws, called, Dialogues on The Soul of Existential Therapy, published by The Society for Existential Analysis. Details 
Using pre-recorded training, interactive on-line content (through Padlet), self-directed learning and live events, this substantial and comprehensive blended training course keeps delegates interested, engaged and learning new ways to bring excellence to their 24-hour postural care provision and focuses on the often neglected lying position and how unsupported lying drives changes to a person's body shape which impacts sitting, standing and functional movement. 
You will have access to the online learning from 4th November 2024 and be provided with all the information you will need to complete the course. At 1pm (GMT) on 4th November you will then join the trainers for an introductory event via Zoom to provide an outline of the training and to answer any questions you may have. Over the next few weeks you can access the pre-recorded training videos and interactive online content to enable you to complete the workbook. On 16th December there will be a series of live discussion events for the specific ages the course covers to assess your learning (you must attend at least one of these events - please see below for further information). 
Why? 
People with complex needs, deserve a thorough, co-ordinated 24-hour postural care service. We only get one body and yet people with complex disabilities don't always get the 'annual service' afforded the equipment they use.
Posture Positive report (2020) found training is a key aspect to developing resilient and robust 24-hour postural care for people with complex needs. Every person with complex needs or limited movement requires a comprehensive 24-hour postural care service delivered in a personalised way.

The course is suitable for specialist physiotherapists, specialist occupational therapists and other highly trained healthcare professionals working in health, SEN and social care.

What is The SHARE Project?
The SHARE Project is built on a simple principle: you need to put your own oxygen mask on first!  By nurturing yourself, you’re better equipped to support your children. Through our four-week, live online workshop series, delivered via Zoom, you’ll discover practical tools to bring more calm and happiness into your daily life.
Here’s what you can expect:
Weekly Workshops:  Each week, we’ll introduce and practice a new tool designed to fit seamlessly into your life (just a few minutes a day, I promise!). These are not your typical “luxury spa day” suggestions — because let’s face it, who has time for that?  Instead, you’ll learn sustainable, go-to strategies that you can use anytime, anywhere, to boost your wellbeing, even in the midst of chaos. This workshop will builds the skills and confidence of tutors, trainers and assessors, to enable them to have conversations about mental health and wellbeing with their learners.
The course focuses on knowing how to better support your learners through effective communication will create an environment of trust and understanding. This course will enable you to:
Build positive relationships and rapport with your learners
Use a range of questioning techniques with your learners to have discussions about wellbeing
Being able to use effective questioning techniques
Develops active listening skills
Maintain confidentiality and know how to make referrals

First Line Management Course

Everything is energy. This is a simple scientific fact. When our energy is flowing and we are in harmony with ourselves, our world reflects this same harmony. Yet so few of us work in harmony with our energies. We question why we suffer the same problems over and over again. We wonder why we work on ourselves yet still don't seem to see the progress we would like. 
The answer could well lie within your energy.
There are seven main energy centres, or chakras, within our personal energy field that govern different areas of your life. In cleansing and healing each chakra, you open yourself up to cleansing and healing the associated aspect of your life. You clear physical and emotional blocks to free your energies to flow and bring in success, joy, and love. 
As you progress through this 9-week energy healing journey, you will learn about each chakra. You will discover where each one is located in your energetic body as well as what each is associated with so you can connect with that chakra more effectively. You'll discover how your chakras are affecting your health, your relationships, your career, and all other areas of your life. 
Each workshop will start by reflecting on your experience so far and thinking about what you would like to achieve over the next seven days.
We will cover various exercises and activities in the session for you to do throughout the week to continue to work with your energies. You can choose what  you would like to do moving forward to support each chakra. In addition, there are daily journal prompts for you to do first thing in the morning and last thing at night. This is your opportunity to note down your experiences and insights and explore the energy of each chakra in more depth. 
You can do the same activities all week or you can switch things up and do something different every day. This is YOUR journey, so choose what feels right to you. 
If you’re still unsure which ones to do, Thea is available via email for guidance throughout the week. 
In the first week, we will assess your current state of being to establish the baseline you’re working from. This is where you see where you are in this moment so you can compare your progress at the end of the course.  This week is also a useful introduction to establishing the routine you’re going to follow throughout the course. It will help you develop the habit of journaling morning and night and deciding when is good for you to do your chosen activities. You may like to do these first thing in the morning before or after journaling; at some point during the day when you have some time to yourself; or in the evening before you reflect on your day in the journal. 
The second week of the course is when we progress to working with the chakras, starting with the root chakra. We will spend a week connecting with the root chakra and working to free up any blocked or stagnant energy so it’s clear and the energy flowing before you move on to the sacral. After a week with the sacral chakra, we’ll then move up to the solar plexus and so on and so on. 
In the ninth and final week of the course you’ll reflect on your progress and look at the changes you’ve experienced over the past few weeks. You’ll check in with each chakra and notice how it feels now compared to when you started. You’ll be given exercises you can do moving forward to keep you connected to your personal flow of energy so you can identify and clear any blocks before they can cause any problems. 
When you’ve finished, you may feel there’s more work you need to do. Replays will be available to all attendees, so you can go back and focus on the chakra(s) you think need extra support or simply go back to the beginning and start the process all over again!
Everyone who signs up for the course will receive a free copy of the accompanying workbook so they have a personal record of their experience of the course.
