My Name is Bailey & I am a graduate of Manchester School of Art. My art focuses on well-being and mental health and how art can help improve those aspects of people’s lives. Much of my work has involved engaging with people from all walks of life, collaborating with other students and artists, arranging exhibitions and working with venues and Manchester-based charities and even setting up this website. Our Stories Matter combines my art (with a focus on self-care and wellbeing) with community input, be it personal stories about mental health or collaborations with charities and other artists. TKA Organisation was founded in 2019 by then 13-year-old Tyler Kanda Avery. Tyler and his younger brother Terell were raised by their single teenage mother who was a Care Leaver who had grown up in Foster Care in one of the most deprived local authorities. The family of three faced a roller coster of difficulties from Financial hardship, Mental health, Homelessness and more. These events shaped Tylers passion to help support other young people like himself. In year 6 primary school Tyler assisted to develop and run a lunch time club for young boys with absent fathers to have a fun space to play various sports with male teachers as role models.

We help people learn how their minds work and how to take care of them, and help organisations promote wellbeing, resilience and productivity. Mindapples was founded by Andy Gibson in 2008, as a campaign to ask everyone what they do to look after their minds. We all have mental health, and what we do makes a difference. We need to build a popular culture of looking after our minds, just like we look after our bodies. So, if you can look after your body by going to the gym or eating an apple, what’s the equivalent for your mind?

Kiddylinguistics Multilingual Preschool is passionate about supporting and developing bilingualism in children. We are proud to be the first multilingual preschool in Oxfordshire offering care for children following their third birthday. Our preschool is located at the beautiful site of the Europa School UK in Culham and offers preschool sessions via four languages: English, French, Spanish and German, while following the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum. We are a private, independent preschool which specialises in preparing children who will be continuing their multilingual education at Europa School UK*. Our preschool assistants are all native speakers who are fluent in English. They provide care and learning via various methods such as full immersion and focused language activities.

Liza is a native German speaker from Düsseldorf. After studying linguistics and engineering she travelled with Cirque du Soleil where her passion for coaching, teaching and multilingualism was born. She came to Scotland in 2011 after working in a variety of countries exploring, learning and using different languages. It is for this reason she understands and empathizes with the challenges of learning a new language. She now lives in Edinburgh with her partner and two children who they have raised to be bilingual. Liza has been working as a teacher for over 10 years, teaching in a variety of settings from group classes and business classes through to private on to one tuition covering both adults and bilingual children. She has gained the experience needed to create a relaxed, fun but effective teaching method that enables students to become fluent in a short time. She understands that learning a language is personal and everyone learns differently. She likes to tailor lessons to suit the particular needs of each student. Liza also offers coaching sessions for multilingual families and works closely with parents and caregivers helping them to find strategies to make their own personal bilingual or multilingual journey successful, irrespective of the chosen language(s).
