Perth and Kinross Heritage Trust (PKHT) is a registered Scottish Charity that has been established since 1988. Our Vision A Perth and Kinross that values, embraces and enhances the economic, social and environmental benefits of its historic environment We realise this vision through the development and delivery of projects, the administration of grants, the provision of information and advice, and a programme of outreach, learning and training activities. Working independently and collaboratively to preserve, enhance and increase understanding of Perth and Kinross’s historic environment Since 1988 the Trust has been achieving a wide remit encompassing historic building conservation, archaeology, access to the historic environment and interpretation. Supported by Heritage Lottery Fund Transition funding, the Trust began an organisational review in 2016 which culminated in our 2017-22 strategic plan. This document sets out our vision, values and priorities and has recently been updated with a Covid-19 response statement for 2021-22 and a further strategic plan for the 2023-2027 period. Our emphasis has always been, and continues to be, on a high quality approach, bringing economic, social and educational benefit while securing a future for Perth and Kinross’s historic environment. We realise our vision, mission and objectives through the development and delivery of projects, the administration of grants, the provision of information and advice, and a programme of outreach, learning and training activities. Conserving our shared cultural heritage is important for many reasons: maintaining ‘sense of place’, providing a resource for learning and education for local communities, and as a driver for sustainable economic development through events and destinations for visitors and tourists. We believe the rich physical heritage of Perth and Kinross, in the form of archaeological remains and historic buildings and landscapes, should be enjoyed by everyone, and we aim to facilitate this through our projects and outreach events. We are committed to developing and delivering activities and projects that increase awareness, understanding and appreciation of the historic environment. Supported by a range of funders, our outreach, learning and participation activities are often delivered as a core part of larger funded projects such as the King’s Seat Hillfort Archaeology Project. Outside of these projects, we also co-ordinate annual feature event programmes such as Doors Open Days. Please explore our website to find out more about what we do and why we do it. After qualifying, Rachel spent 12 years in senior roles within charities ranging from the British Tinnitus Association, to the Institute of Cancer Research. Rachel has over 20 years’ experience supporting a variety of social impact organisations from small charities to major research institutions. We weave clear and simple stories from real world wicked problems and use those stories to solve those wicked problems. It's nothing short of remarkable. Our stories make people's lives better and communities stronger. They clean oceans and preserve habitats for endangered species. They move hearts and win minds. They make change happen. We are not, in our experience, as good, when it comes to our financial storytelling. All too often, the financial stories which we tell ourselves and those who wish to work with us, constrain our potential. Our lack of financial confidence - in our numbers and in our decision making - holds us back. But less so at financial stories Yet, we know that it is when changemakers really embrace the finances, own the numbers, understand the stories behind the numbers, use these stories to marry money with mission, they can extend their social impact and realise fully their social ambitions. We also know that for many changemakers, the biggest barrier to owning the numbers is not technical but attitudinal. My name is Ben and I don't talk sometimes Speaking I was a speaker at the SMIRA (Selective Mutism Information and Research Association) conference in March 2015 and 2017. In April 2016, 2017 and 2018, I was a speaker at a conference (organised by the University of Silesia) held in Katowice, Poland. My presentations were entitled 'Implementing a small steps programme for working with children with selective mutism' and 'An overview of interventions for children with selective mutism'. In 2019, I co-delivered a workshop in Melbourne Australia, aimed at parents of children with Selective Mutism and school staff. I have also been a speaker at the SM Help Summit as well as the Early Year's summit. Other work In 2016, I worked on the Brave Buddies programme (an intensive therapeutic programme for children with selective mutism) delivered by the Child Mind Institute in New York City, USA. In 2017, I worked on the WeSpeak programme at Kurtz Psychology in New York, an intensive therapeutic programme for children aged 11-14 with selective mutism. International work I offer Online Sessions, having supported parents of children with selective mutism from the UK, USA, South Africa, Sweden, the United Arab Emirates and more. I have also delivered direct intensive therapy to children internationally, including in the UK, Bulgaria and in Thailand. In 2019, I co-founded and delivered the Selective Mutism Group Programme (SMGP) in London, UK and in 2020 I co-delivered the SMGP in Australia. In order to reach even more children and families, we now have a team of Confident Children practitioners who are passionate and experienced in Selective Mutism. In 2022, Confident Children was asked to become a SMIRA associate (an associate of the UK SM association). At Confident Children, our passion and goal is to help as many children with Selective Mutism as possible to find their voice.

Too often, external evaluation is very clear on identifying strengths and weaknesses but offers little in the way of advising on what can be done to address issues arising. With our experience of working with more than two hundred senior leadership teams across England, extensive knowledge of data management and analysis and up to date knowledge of inspection procedures; we can help you gain an objective, accurate understanding of the effectiveness of key areas of your school and will write this up in a way that directly contributes to your school self-evaluation, thus saving you time to spend where it really impacts; with your children and teachers. My Background After a successful 15 year career teaching in a range of different primary schools in different authorities, culminating in Headship, I joined a major public services company in 2008 advising on data analysis and management and school improvement through accurate self-evaluation. As part of this remit, I provided CPD and advice to primary schools across the country. In 2010, I undertook inspection training and became a fully qualified additional Ofsted Inspector. I successfully retained my badge in the reduction of inspectors in 2016 and continued inspecting until 2018, when one-day inspections significantly reduced the need for additional inspectors. During my time on inspection, I worked on behalf of SERCO and then Ofsted directly from 2016. In May 2011, I became a fully independent schools advisor and since then, as well as inspection work, I have worked with over 250 schools Nationwide. The location of these schools has included Sunderland and Teesside in the North East, Manchester and Thameside in the North West, various parts of London and Wiltshire in the South East and West, as well as many points in between! In these schools, I have worked in partnership with them on SEF writing, school advisory work, self-evaluation and school performance information analysis as well as providing both on-site and course training regarding data analysis and curriculum development. As I am not employed by Ofsted and have no ties to local authorities, then you can be sure that the view point I give is objective and based entirely around the evidence available. I work as an advisor to both maintained LA primary schools and Multi-Academy Trust groups.
