It develops young people’s skills to enable them to achieve their potential. It provides networking opportunities for young people in the UK and abroad to broaden their horizons. It also provides opportunities for elderly people and young people to engage in educational, meaningful and pleasurable activities to prevent loneliness. Another objective of the Happy Education Hub is providing work opportunities for local people in the education sector. It will employ teachers, child carers, cleaners, IT technicians etc.

Age does not define us, our voice can unlock the past and create the future Intergenerational Opera is a music outreach programme running in East Sussex bringing together Primary School children and elderly people from the community including those with Dementia through creative music workshops. The project will use music to develop communication and social interaction, boost confidence and creative expression and to generally improve overall wellbeing for all its participants. Each Intergenerational project will run in conjunction with the school term in weekly sessions. Relationships formed during the project are predicted to outlive the project. Sessions are run by two professional opera singers and supported by a pianist. Music is learnt by ear and created by participants. The project culminates with a performance to which parents and carers are invited.

Making Life Better on the Water The Newark Crusader offers affordable pre-booked cruises on the River Trent from Newark Marina for care homes, elderly, special needs, community, and educational groups with excellent disabled access, including those in wheelchairs. The pleasure of cruising on the River Trent is therapeutic, helping people relax and enjoy being in contact with wildlife and the outdoors. The Newark Crusader is a not-for-profit charity run entirely by volunteers. There is a large open foredeck, a heated saloon, a disabled toilet and a small galley/kitchen. The boat can carry up to 12 passengers and there are usually two trips a day lasting roughly 2 hours.  The cost of the service starts as low as £6 per person, but we do ask for a minimum contribution of £60 per trip towards our costs. Helens professional history included time working as a Senior Nurse Advisor at NHS Direct a Resuscitation Nurse Trainer in Devon and latterly as a School Matron in a private school. David has worked with Helen for several years providing support in training and assessing groups until Helen handed over the reigns in the summer of 2017. David has had a rich career in Health Care. He started in the St John Ambulance aged 12, Joined the Army as a Combat Medical Technician at 16 and trained to work in Operating Theatres a few years later. In 1992 He qualified as a Registered General Nurse working children with disabilities, elderly care, prison health care, NHS Direct and going on to qualify and practice as Specialist Community Public Health Nurse. Before Cook Stars I was in a career working with vulnerable elderly people. This role included supporting them to prepare and cook their meals. This was very enjoyable, and it was lovely to see their sense of achievement. We would always sit down together to eat what we had made. I've recently had my son Leo and decided I wanted a change and be my own boss which is when I found Cook Stars! Having always been a "arts and craft" kind of girl who enjoys food, I can't think of anything better than being a part of the Cook Stars team to combine both passions! Our classes, workshops and events are sociable, energetic and above all else full of fun. I hope to teach your children some important life skills that they may also turn into a passion! I very much look forward to meeting you!
