Creativity lives at the very heart of my life and since the age of 7 I have been heavily involved in expressive art. I started out having violin and dance lessons, and then when I hit my teenage years I became increasingly fascinated by the vocal instrument. I really wanted to sing! So I did. Many years of practice, plus endless good (and not-so-good) live performance experiences, have all shaped me into a well-rounded and resilient musician. It brings me proudly to this point today where I can call myself a full-time professional singer, voice tutor and eternal music student!

Once upon a time there was a little Piranha… The little Piranhas begin their story here on an adventure with the Big Piranha and friends. They begin their journey, learning together through the fundamentals which have been built on a philosophy of fun and enjoyment. Piranha’s Swim School’s aim is to help as many children as possible to learn to swim in areas where there was limited provision. What started as simply provision is now a programme led by a series of innovative techniques, transforming swimming for the younger generations in our local areas. The swim school has expanded with the addition of a team of instructors and lessons are now delivered at a number of venues across the Lake District, Lancaster and Carnforth areas. Piranha’s Swim School is the most unique swim school of its kind – established on a philosophy of fun and enjoyment with one mission – to get children excited about swimming! Our Piranha troops are led by their Big Piranhas through the ASA Stages to become masters of water confidence. Hi, I’m Kathryn and I run antenatal courses and workshops along with baby and postnatal classes in Edinburgh. I teach weekly pregnancy classes and birth and baby workshops, which focus on combining antenatal education with birth hypnosis and breathing techniques, movement for pregnancy wellbeing and active birth and are a great time of the week to focus on you, your pregnancy and your baby. Weekly classes are a great way to help you enjoy a positive pregnancy and meet up with others local to you and at a similar stage in pregnancy as you prepare for your confident birth. I also teach Tinies and Wrigglers daisy baby classes which as well as offering baby massage, yoga and sensory play are all about coming together with other new parents to meet, chat and learn – navigating the journey into parenthood together. What I particularly love is seeing expectant parents meet at antenatal classes and continue with daisy baby classes until 10 to 12 months postpartum offering a real connection and community and seeing friendships grow. My classes are with you every step of the way, as are the community of daisy parents around you connected in class and online to always be there to support you. For everyone that is looking for evidence based information, delivered live and interactive (both online and in person) in a non judgemental space with other like minded new and expectant parents you are in the right place! As a local Mum of two I know just how much of a huge transition it can be becoming a new parent and I am passionate about supporting parental wellbeing and passionately believe in the value of peer support. We’ve all heard the saying ‘it takes a village to raise a child’ and daisy is all about building your village! I trained with The Daisy Foundation in 2013 and have been teaching for daisy classes for over 7 years working with hundreds of parents and families from throughout Edinburgh and the Lothians. I am also a voluntary peer facilitator and lead Positive Birth Edinburgh, as well as being a trained Slingababy Baby Wearing Peer Supporter and a proud member of Edinburgh Birth and Baby.
