In our nursery we have mainstream children, as well as children with disabilities. Many of our students have physical disabilities, as well as sensory, learning and communication difficulties; some also have complex health needs. Parents and carers trust us implicitly. Our very individual and flexible approach means we can easily adapt the programme for each student. As their needs and aspirations change and they develop, we offer new opportunities to support their personal growth and independence. Our integrated team of dedicated and specialist staff makes this possible. As well as specialist teaching staff, we have our own therapeutic staff on site, offering a range of therapies, including physio, speech and language, occupational, aquatic, massage and music. Garforth Academy mainly serves the community of Garforth with some pupils travelling further to school from communities such as Micklefield, Kippax, Colton, Whitkirk, Swillington, Aberford and Crossgates. Whilst the majority of pupils live within walking distance we do have a broad intake of primary schools with current year 7 pupils coming from 27 primary schools. The Key Stage 2 APS on entry is broadly in line with national average but some year groups are slightly below national average on entry. The academy is larger than average, and has around 300 pupils per year group in Key Stages Three and Four with a large 6th form in excess of 400 pupils. We serve a diverse community and whilst a large proportion of pupils come from affluent backgrounds, some pupils live in areas containing pockets of deprivation, characterised by high unemployment, an inadequate employment base, low average income levels, poor physical and mental health and a degraded urban environment. It is therefore important that our curriculum meets needs the needs of all learners from a wide range of backgrounds. The proportion of disadvantaged pupils is below the national average (16% v 29%) as is the number currently in receipt of Free School Meals (7% v 12%). Pupils within the academy are mainly White British, with only 2.7% of pupils having EAL. The number of pupils with an EHCP is 1.3%, and a small number of pupils requiring behavioural and emotional support attend The Elland Academy in Leeds, which is a registered Alternative Provision within Delta Academies Trust. We serve our local community and work closely with partners to plan a set of learning experiences that meet the needs of our pupils. In addition, we use local, national and international labour market intelligence to plan courses to best prepare our young people for life beyond school. We have the highest standards and expectations for all pupils and we strive to provide a curriculum that respects the needs of all pupils as well as one that encourages young people to seek continuous development and improvement.

The Emmental native lowered the Swiss record from 2003 by two-time Olympic time trial winner Karin Thürig over the distance of 3000 meters by a good three tenths to 3:33.242 minutes; the performance brought her 13th place. At the beginning of the season, she set herself the goal of improving the record, the 23-year-old from Oberburg announced. "Today my pacing was great and I'm just happy that I made it." Image: frontal vision Tim Rey shines with top international results Within two weeks, Tim achieved 5th place in the points race at the Track World Championships and 10th place at the renowned Junior Tour GP Rüebliland, two top results. After his corona illness at the end of June, which is why he also missed the European Championships on Track, his trainer Marcel Wyss trained with Tim for a week in Lenzerheide with a view to these upcoming competitions. These great successes confirm that it was right and important to start training again slowly and in a controlled manner after the illness. For such a young athlete, this requires a lot of patience. Atlantic Bow (Communications) Limited was originally set up in 1994 by David Walls and the late Alexander Grant as a consultancy and project development firm. Dr. Stewart Massie was appointed Technical Director in 2009. We specialise in market research, risk management, open and distance learning, as well as research into combining information and communications technologies with legal, financial, commercial, educational and other professional services. We have worked largely in the fishing, seafood and aquaculture sectors. In particular, our EC funded report "The Seafood Industry of the Highlands and Islands of Scotland and the West Coast: The Problems of Remoteness in a European Context" (EC Ref. UK-11-Focus, August 1997) had a major impact on the UK seafood industry and has been the basis of much of our subsequent work to date. More recently we were awarded an FIFG grant to carry out an "innovation" development project that looked at the vital question of the standardisation of data to facilitate data exchange across the seafood industry as a "proof of concept" project. To demonstrate the practical application of the draft standard specification that was developed, there was specific focus on quality management, compliance certification and audit in the field of organic aquaculture. I was first introduced to dowsing while completing my Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship at GEC Machines in Rugby, Warwickshire. One of the placements was within the Electrical Maintenance Department where my supervisor was kind enough to spend some time showing me how to rod dowse. He gave me a set he had made himself. Very soon after this my sister taught me how to dowse with a pendulum and work with food supplements and the Schuessler Tissue Salts. She also helped me to improve my diet and cookery skills. We both used cheerful glass beads and brightly colored yarn for our pendulums. Soon after my first child was born I realized that he was following a similar pattern of health to me and within a few months I was given the contact telephone number for Mrs H. Lucie Bidie by a good friend David Kerruish who still has a Wholefood Shop in Rugby. Lucie Bidie put me in touch with one of her students from her who treated our little family. I was quickly asking for more information and wanted to extend my dowsing skills beyond working with the vitamin and mineral supplements. I began training with Lucie Bidie in 1987 and continued to work with her until shortly before her death in 2002. Lucie and her husband Stewart were both instrumental in the founding of the Radionic Association, both financially and on committee. They were trained by the De La Warrs and had Radionic analysis and treatment instruments made by the De La Warr Laboratories. Lucie taught students via the School of Radionics but as her findings and techniques changed from the school's protocols this became more and more tricky. Around 2000 I was blessed with meeting 2 people who stretched my concepts of the analysis and treatment of clients. I realized I had become quite rigid in my thinking. They were Barbara Garratt and Chris Bacon. Conversations are divergent and energizing. I have been distance healing for over 25 years which is very rewarding. I also get so much satisfaction from guiding people to be dowsing at their highest level, while achieving confidence in their accuracy and results.
