I am delighted to welcome you to Ormiston Rivers Academy. Our mission is to deepen learning and raise aspiration. I am proud to represent the staff and students of Ormiston Rivers, a school that really embodies the ambitions we have for the children of our community. Our students are resilient and respectful young people, independently working to seize and create opportunities for themselves and others. They are ambitious and aspirational; set to change the world for the better. We promote a creative approach, and we have excellent facilities for dance, drama, and music, embracing the discipline these subjects bring to your child. Our values are rooted firmly in the community, and we encourage links with local groups, businesses, and events. If you have seen our students perform or participate across the county, you will know that excellence is an expectation and this is clear in everything we do – be it through: academic or charitable endeavours, performance, or motor vehicle maintenance. Our staff know our students really well and strive at all times to meet their needs by keeping up to date with the latest educational research and continuing professional development. Ormiston Rivers is a dynamic and exciting learning environment with creative teaching and learning as the norm. We are the sole secondary school in Burnham on Crouch and the Dengie, and therefore uniquely placed to ensure that children achieve their potential. Our student exam results remain consistently above national averages and we continue to develop confident students who go out in the world with the security that only a strong education can provide. Our last Ofsted was in October 2016, with the school rated as Good in all aspects, the report can be found on the Ofsted section of our website. CIPHER Medical was founded by co-owner Andy Thomas after he left the Royal Air Force in late 2015. The aim of CIPHER medical was to Deliver the highest standards of clinical care both to the event medical industry and to the National Health Service. All members of the team share this passion for both patient care and education based around our Vison and Mission Statement. This is enabled through all staff by our core values. Vision Statement CIPHER Medical will work together as a team in the spirit of collaboration, teamwork and a drive for excellence. Active Learning Providing active learning experiences is a priority for all of our staff. Our students are eager and active participants in all lessons. We engage all of our students in collaborative learning activities, outdoor learning, and provide learning experiences that are meaningful to a digital generation. Assessment for Learning We are committed to using assessment to aid the learning process.
