Youth Work Ireland is a Federation of 20 Member Youth Services and a National Office who work together to support, empower, inspire and educate young people through the delivery of best practice youth work services. Our Vision is an Ireland of equality, access and participation for all young people. We are an inclusive and member-centred organisation. Our work is in service to our membership as they in turn work to develop the potential of young people and strengthen communities in Ireland.

Our aim is to provide young people and external partners the necessary support to help tackle the issues of marginalised youths between the ages of 16 and 24 living in the UK and Ghana. Our belief in incorporating education and training as key methods, whilst encouraging personal and social development, enables youth to have a voice and place within their communities and society as a whole. To help at risk young people from diverse backgrounds, create opportunities which are challenging and exciting, enabling them to learn and develop in a supportive environment. To provide preventive or recovery support they will need to move from a Not in Education, Employment, or Training (NEET) to Education, Employment or Training (EET) status. We support groups through a number of services including peer group meetings, individual and organisational mentoring, advice and policy development. Our membership comprises full & part-time voluntary and community youth sector organisations providing services to children and young people funded through the Education Authority.

Sadly, the message young people so often receive is one of conformity and comparison, they can be left feeling that they aren’t enough as they are. Where young people are facing challenges we provide mentoring and workshops that enable them to explore who they are and what is right for them so that they can confidently pursue their chosen path in life.
