Welcome to Mini Professors North Liverpool A warm welcome to you all from Professor Laura! Mini Professors is an amazing pre-school science programme for children aged 2-5 years that helps children explore the world around them. They learn about a different science topic each week using interactive talks, videos, stories, two hands on activities or experiments and there is even a science song! All whilst developing skills such as language, fine motor skills and social skills. Please see "About the Classes" for more details of class format and age groups Do you have a child that loves asking questions? Who wants to know why things happen? Who likes to learn by doing and being curious? Then this is the class for you!! If you answered no to those questions don't worry - all children are different and we have lots of different personalities at Mini Professors - these classes will give children more confidence and help them to question the world around them. Time each week to spend quality time together learning about the wonderful world of science, from dinosaurs to electricity!

BRYAN CLARK My journey towards becoming a writer is deeply rooted in the rich tapestry of experiences that life has generously offered me. As I journeyed through my military career, I naturally had highs and lows, things that I loved and a lot that I’d rather have skipped, all of this has been a thread that I’ve woven into the fabric of my narratives. Fiction, my chosen medium, serves as a conduit through which I channel these myriad experiences, infusing my characters and the worlds they inhabit with the essence of real-life wisdom and insight.  This creative alchemy is not solely for my own fulfillment but is driven by a profound love for reading—a love that has allowed me to traverse countless universes, each a unique reflection of the human experience.  It is this magical immersion that I aspire to offer my readers. By inviting them into the realms I create, I hope to echo the enchantment that reading has bestowed upon me, crafting not just stories, but gateways to worlds both vast and intimate, where every page turned is a step into the boundless potential of imagination.

As director of Simply First Aid, Piers Osborne has taken on this exciting role after years of preparation. Having started in the leisure industry, working with children and babies, he moved to education where he spent 9 years lecturing on a range of further, higher and community education courses for the Sports, Early Years and Community Studies departments. He left this role to get out of the class room and into informal education through outdoor activities. Almost since it’s inception Piers has been a member of Cornwall Search and Rescue Team helping to prepare it’s medics as the Medical Training Officer. He had the privilege to work with some extraordinary people until a relocation forced him to step down. He was also a member of Metropolitan Caloundra Surf Lifesaving Club and Watergate Bay Surf Lifesaving Club and an active member of the Scout Movement. As well as specialising in outdoor and wilderness first aid he continues to specialise in paediatric first aid and education. Over the years Piers has worked with a number of First Aid training providers, including the Red Cross, Royal Life Saving Society and St John Ambulance, to deliver First Aid and Casualty Care across Europe and Australia. Screenshot 2019-01-22 at 17.53.57.png Dominic Osborne With a background in emergency medical response, security solutions and both pool and beach lifeguarding, Dom was a perfect choice for Simply First Aid! He has over 15 years experience and was responsible for the Metropolitan Caloundra beaches for a number of years. During this time Dom was responsible for the ongoing development of all the beach personnel. As such he wrote and delivered bespoke training solutions and linked training to the Australian Professional Ocean Lifeguards Association scheme. Dom provides our Quality Assurance and continues to deliver training when required. He is as comfortable behind a desk as he is being lowered into shark infested seas from a rescue helicopter! He has long since left the world of lifeguarding behind and now provides both medical and security solutions for mine sites, race meets and the like. Dom has recently been to conferences on the East and West Coasts of America in order to secure opportunities for the ‘Event Medics‘ side of the business. He has competed in the Australian Open Iron Man, his 3rd ever triathlon, and was an elite cyclist. When not training, you’ll find him spending time with his family and ‘staying salty’! Moving and handling doughnuts.jpg Adrian Sevume Kauma Adrian Sevume Kauma (SK) is an eccentric trainer who has a strong passion for first aid. His first experience in doing CPR (on his daughter) has inspired him to teach many people in first aid and he aspires to make a difference in people's lives through the means of first aid. He teaches our portfolio of workplace first aid courses and enjoys delivering our schools programme to large groups. Adrian is known for being an "Awesome trainer" as he enjoys using the word "Awesome" or "Awesomness!" throughout his sessions (He does not know that it is not even a word, so when you see him just humour him). He uses anecdotes, stories and his own experiences in his training to make first aid easy, practical and fun.

I like unearthing the stories that need telling and finding the best way to tell them, whether that’s through sound, visual storytelling or on the page. I love to empower and support writers and performers and can help you to find your story and the courage, confidence and tools to tell it. I’m a creative communications professional, writing all manner of copy from the scientific to social media posts through to celebration of the sublime, and have had work published in local, regional and national outlets. I founded truth & dare events in 2021 to provide a platform for people with something to say. We’ve found a home for our poetry events at The Lamb Inn in Sandford, but facilitate poetry and creative writing workshops at Crediton Arts Centre and The White Room Creative Space. My first poetry pamphlet, you are here, was published with our very own fledgling imprint, Sandrock Press in 2021. You can find out more and buy a copy here. I live in a falling down house outside Exeter with a husband, daft dog, dribbly cat and three hens who foster not-so-secret plans for world domination.

Alexandra Fowler is an author and illustrator living in Cornwall, England. Creating books that are beautiful and interesting to both adult and child is key focus in Alexandra’s style. She is also responsible, under the pen name Lilac Rosenwyn, for the Cornish Legends chapter book series which aims to bring the world of Cornish myths and Legends to a new generation. Alexandra has an extensive background in Environmental education and conservation. Whilst working for a countryside project in Kent, Alexandra ran guided walks and children’s activities with a focus on engaging people in nature through art. Upon moving to Cornwall in 2008, Alexandra topped up her studies in Marine Environmental Management and completed a Certificate in Education, enabling her to work for a number of years as a Lecturer in Marine Biology. With the birth of her three children, Alexandra combined her educational and artistic background to create inspiring and informative children’s books for ages 9 and under. Working in traditional mediums of watercolour Alexandra creates visually appealing stories to inspire. She additionally works with other authors to bring their words to life with her illustrations.

IN ANCIENT GREECE, THE SYMPOSIA… ...was the gathering of those whom would sit, drink wine and philosophise, but mostly drink wine. Wine at the time was typically diluted with water and the Symposia was led by the Symposiarch, a part sommelier, part conductor type who would control the strength of wine, somewhat by the intensity of the conversation (or vice-versa). One could say this ethos hasn't changed much in the centuries since. The Symposia you have discovered here follows the same vein, wine and the philosophy of it. As part of my wine education I have been keeping my own tasting notes on which ever wines take my fancy. Whilst there is no shortage of wine writers, reviews, tasting notes and the like available, I thought sharing my journey could not only help others undertaking a similar adventure to my own but also new comers to the world of wine appreciation. Even the professionals might get a laugh or two. As a hint, I would suggest you start with the “About Me”, “Note about Notes” and “Story about Stories” sections so you know what you’re getting yourself into and if you’re still interested, feel free to browse around.
