UKTheatreSchool is an independent performing arts academy that bridges the gap between drama clubs and further education performing arts establishments. Founder, Lizanne Thomson, noticed a clear gap in the education system to provide the proper training for young people looking to advance in performing arts. UKTheatreSchool opened as an independent drama and musical theatre school within the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (RSAMD), now known as The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS). Due to increasing popularity and growth, the school expanded into its own specially designed premises and established itself as a charity to ensure performing arts could be fully inclusive. UKTheatreSchool is ideally situated at 4 West Regent Street within the most beautiful listed building in the centre of vibrant Glasgow and is a two-minute walk from Glasgow Central and Glasgow Queen Street train stations. UKTheatreSchool students enjoy special elements exclusive to this particular academy. Students have continued success in the theatre, film, radio and TV industries due to working with qualified, experienced tutors from the performing arts industry and the network of people connected with UKTheatreSchool. Void is a contemporary art gallery with up to five exhibitions per year showing the work of established international and Irish artists.Void is a contemporary art gallery that commissions and produces a visual arts programme that aims to challenge our audience and promote the arts to new and existing audiences. The programme supports a diverse range of artistic practices of national and international artists. The programme focuses on the collaborative nature of art and its ability to add to artistic discourse through exhibitions, events, discussions and partnerships. Through our commissions we work with a network of arts organisations both nationally and internationally to create specific projects. Spike G Martin Blacksmith and Anvil Hog Bearded Pig forge is run by myself who having a long-standing interest in the history and craft of blacksmithing decided to pursue it as a career full time. My Journey into the amazing world of blacksmithing started with four basic course days with Ross Berry at Kaos Blacksmiths, after gaining a strong foundation from Ross I started to develop my skills at my own forge and anvil by practicing the items I had been shown how to make and then by making new pieces I began to find my own style. Over several years now I have continued to develop these methods and teach myself more about this fascinating craft, expanding my knowledge and practical skills, including branching into mixed medium work such as the knives and tooling I produce. The forge is based in the grounds of Quex park in Birchington a historical site and wonderful country estate.

I have 2 amazing children Noah and Phoebe who love to help me out in the kitchen and join in with classes and workshops whenever they can. My wonderful husband Andy shares my passion for cooking and enjoying good food. He has been a sweet chef in a Michelin star restaurant but these days he is kept busy preparing ingredients and washing the pots from the Cook Stars sessions. I come from a family of foodies and food lovers. My mum Marion, introduced me to cooking from a very early age when I would often "help her" in the kitchen. She even used to come into my junior school to volunteer to teach baking and ended up doing this for 25 years!! My brother was also inspired and now owns his own Michelin star restaurant! My degree is in Psychology and Sociology but I have always had an interest in learning about food, cooking and sharing my knowledge and skills. I worked in the hospitality industry as a waitress for many years from part time while going through my education to full time as restaurant supervisor and back to being a waitress while starting out in my teaching career. After graduating I moved to Romania for a short time doing charity work in Gypsy villages particularly working with the children within the communities and helping to feed the villagers by making soup twice a week with one of the heads of the village and distributing it to villagers in need. I worked in a local secondary school for 15 years first as a teaching assistant working in a variety of subjects with students with a variety of needs. I completed my training as a Food teacher in 2005, I have taught a variety of food courses in KS3 and KS4. I was head of the D&T faculty and also worked alongside some local primary schools on a variety of projects. On my return to work after having Phoebe I realised that I needed to look at different avenues to regain my work life balance. Cook stars is the perfect opportunity for me to do this. I can do what I truly love which is teaching Kids to cook and encouraging children to enjoy cooking and learning about nutrition.

At Alliance Boxing Club our goal is to provide the opportunity for anyone to keep fit, stay healthy and learn the value of hard work, discipline, self-respect and respect of others. We are an Affiliated Member of the Amateur Boxing Association of England and our trainers are England Boxing Certified. This allows us to provide both a high standard of coaching and offer competitive opportunities to our members on the amateur boxing circuit. We're not all about competitive boxing though. Boxing is a great way to increase fitness levels and manage weight. We have a range of boxing, fitness, strength and conditioning classes, including kids and female only, that provide fun, full body workouts in a positive, friendly atmosphere. Our classes are perfect for helping with weight loss and toning and are designed to allow you to work at your own pace. We can provide 1-2-1 training too or if you prefer you can come down and do your own work out. To keep the club as accessible as possible we like to keep things simple. We don’t charge membership fees or ask you to sign up to contracts. You just pay when you come down to train or take a class. It’s that easy. The club is owned and run by professional boxer Sam Smith and former powerlifter, now boxer Graham Mattison. Sam and Graham are hugely positive and inspiring influences, bringing a wealth of knowledge, experience and enthusiasm to the Club. In 2018 they were winners of the Coach Participation Award at the Leeds Sports Awards. Sam has been boxing for over a decade, has held multiple titles including WBF & WBU. Currently the British Masters Champion she is the only British female in her division to be world ranked. Graham has boxed for about 4 years, prior to which he had great success in powerlifting being ranked second in the world at professional level. Our gym is equipped with an array of boxing equipment including cardio machines, punch bags, free weights and strength and conditioning machines. We have our own club mini bus to help our boxers travel around to competitions and championships. We're conveniently located less than a minute from Crossgates Shopping Centre, just off the Leeds Outer Ring Road, making us easily accessible from all across Leeds and beyond. The gym is on the 1st floor with great access and we have plenty of free secure parking.
