Further, his responsibilities included designing, engineering, diagnosing equipment problems and recommending solutions to repair deficiencies and improve system performance, supervising engineers, setting up preventive maintenance programs, writing Operating and Design Manuals, and commissioning new equipment. Later, he worked as the manager of a section dedicated to providing training for the staff at the power stations. The training provided by him covered in detail the various equipment and systems used in power stations. In addition, he has taught courses and seminars to more than four thousand working engineers and professionals around the world, specifically Europe and North America. <p>With the increased penetration of inverter-based resources, the operation of electric grids grew in complexity, leading to load forecasts that are updated more frequently than once a day. Furthermore, several jurisdictions adopted a smaller granularity than the hourly load forecasts in the effort to reduce the forecasting uncertainties.</p>

<p>The industry is surrounded with examples of poor Turnarounds, which have injured people and damaged businesses. If Turnarounds are not properly planned, managed and controlled, companies run the risks of serious safety and budget penalties, costly schedule delays and negative impacts on customers. As a consequence, operators are starting to explore Turnaround best practices and establish a more robust methodology.</p>
<p>Turnarounds are the highest risk activity that we routinely perform in the industry, but they are also an area of massive variability in approach and outcome. Central to the variability is a lack of written methodologies and training - there are around 1,000 times as many books on maintenance as there are on turnaround management. All too often companies see Turnarounds as something to be survived and therefore it is no surprise that most Turnarounds fail.</p>
<p>This 4 full-day course is based upon the Carcharodon 'Best of the Best' model of excellence for shutdown management with inputs from people who have done it from the trenches along with some of the world's most experienced shutdown specialists. <p><span>This 5 half-day Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT) course will assist energy professionals in the planning and operation of a power system from renewable energy sources. The VILT course will discuss key operating requirements for an integrated, reliable and stable power system.</span></p>
<p><span>The unique characteristics of renewable energy are discussed from a local, consumer centric and system perspective, bringing to life the ever-changing paradigm in delivering energy to customers. The course will explore the technical challenges associated with interconnecting and integrating hundreds of gigawatts of solar power onto the electricity grid in a safe and reliable way.</span></p>
<p><span>With references to international case studies, the VILT course will also demonstrate the state of the art methodologies used in forecasting solar power. The flexibility of the invertor-based resources will facilitate higher penetrations of photovoltaic, battery electricity storage systems and demand response while co-optimizing customer resources. The contribution of inverter-based generators that provides voltage support, frequency response and regulation (droop response), reactive power and power quality with a high level of accuracy and fast response will be addressed.</span></p>
<p><span>Furthermore, this VILT course will also describe how microgrids' controllers can allow for a fully automated energy management. Distributed energy resources are analyzed in detail from a technical and financial aspect and will address the best known cost based methodologies such as project financing and cost recovery.</span></p>

She led complex projects in operations and conducted long term planning studies to support planning and operational reliability standards. Specializing in Smart Grids, Operational flexibilities, Renewable generation, Reliability, Financial Engineering, Energy Markets and Power System Integration, she was recently engaged by the Inter-American Development Bank/MHI in Guyana. She was the Operations Expert in the regulatory assessment in Oman. She is a registered member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario, Canada. She is also a contributing member to the IEEE Standards Association, WG Blockchain P2418.5.</p>
<p>With over 25 years with Ontario Power Generation (Revenue $1.2 Billion CAD, I/S 16 GW), she served as Canadian representative in CIGRE, committee member in NSERC (Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada), and Senior Member IEEE and Elsevier since the 90ties. Our key expert chaired international conferences, lectured on several continents, published a book on Reliability and Security of Nuclear Power Plants, contributed to IEEE and PMAPS and published in the Ontario Journal for Public Policy, Canada. She delivered seminars organized by the Power Engineering Society, IEEE plus seminars to power companies worldwide, including Oman, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Portugal, South Africa, Japan, Romania, and Guyana.</p>
<p><strong>Your second expert course leader </strong>is the co-founder and Director of Research at Xesto Inc. Xesto is a spatial computing AI startup based in Toronto, Canada and it has been voted as Toronto's Best Tech Startup 2019 and was named one of the top 10 'Canadian AI Startups to Watch' as well as one of 6th International finalists for the VW Siemens Startup Challenge, resulting in a partnership. His latest app Xesto-Fit demonstrates how advanced AI and machine learning is applied to the e-commerce industry, as a result of which Xesto has been recently featured in TechCrunch.</p>
<p>He specializes in both applied and theoretical machine learning and has extensive experience in both industrial and academic research. He is specialized in Artificial Intelligence with multiple industrial applications. At Xesto, he leads projects that focus on applying cutting edge research at the intersection of spatial analysis, differential geometry, optimization of deep neural networks, and statistics to build scalable rigorous and real time performing systems that will change the way humans interact with technology. In addition, he is a Ph.D candidate in the Mathematics department at UofT, focusing on applied mathematics. His academic research interests are in applying advanced mathematical methods to the computational and statistical sciences. He earned a Bachelor's and MSc in Mathematics, both at the University of Toronto.</p>

<p>Your specialist course leader has more than 32 years of practical engineering experience with Ontario Power Generation (OPG), one of the largest electric utility in North America. He was previously involved in research on power generation equipment with Atomic Energy of Canada Limited at their Chalk River and Whiteshell Nuclear Research Laboratories. While working at OPG, he acted as a Training Manager, Engineering Supervisor, System Responsible Engineer and Design Engineer. During the period of time, he worked as a Field Engineer and Design Engineer, he was responsible for the operation, maintenance, diagnostics, and testing of gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, motors, transformers, inverters, valves, pumps, compressors, instrumentation and control systems. Further, his responsibilities included designing, engineering, diagnosing equipment problems and recommending solutions to repair deficiencies and improve system performance, supervising engineers, setting up preventive maintenance programs, writing Operating and Design Manuals, and commissioning new equipment. Later, he worked as the manager of a section dedicated to providing training for the staff at the power stations. The training provided by him covered in detail the various equipment and systems used in power stations. In addition, he has taught courses and seminars to more than four thousand working engineers and professionals around the world, specifically Europe and North America. He has been consistently ranked as 'Excellent' or 'Very Good' by the delegates who attended his seminars and lectures. He written 5 books for working engineers from which 3 have been published by McGraw-Hill, New York. Below is a list of the books authored by him;</p>

The design of all CFB boiler components and equipment including furnace, cyclones, economizers, superheaters, reheaters, loop seals, expansion joints, refractory, and L-valves will be covered in detail. All potential operating problems and major operating problems, corrective actions and maintenance required for CFB boilers will be covered thoroughly.</p>
<p>This course will focus on designing CFB boilers that have the highest efficiency, and maximum longevity and capacity factor. All the common problems encountered in CFB Boilers will be discussed in detail.This includes thermally induced failures, anchor system induced failures, water walls tube failures, NMEJ damages, clinker formation, refractory damages, APH tube chock-up, erosion and corrosion. The solutions to each of these problems will be presented. All repair and refurbishment methods, preventive and predictive maintenance required for CFB boilers will be covered in-depth.</p>
<p>Several studies have confirmed that CFB boilers are the best method for power generation.This is due to their fuel flexibility, and lowest electricity cost among all types of boilers. <p>This 5 full-day course provides detailed description of all combustion equipment and systems used in pulverized coal boilers and circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boilers including pulverized coal burning systems, coal feeder, pulverizer and classifier, pulverized coal burners, furnace and fans. <p>Identifying and correcting the root cause of failures in boilers and steam power plant equipment is essential to help reduce the chance of future problems. A comprehensive assessment is the most effective method of determining the root cause of a failure. For example, a tube failure in a boiler is usually a symptom of other problems. To fully understand the root cause of the failure, one must investigate all aspects of boiler operation leading to the failure in addition to evaluating the failure itself. When a boiler tube failure occurs, the root cause of the failure must be identified and eliminated.</p>
<p>This 5 full-day course starts by providing an in-depth understanding of root cause analysis methodology. This includes how to identify the problem, contain and analyze the problem, define the root cause of the problem, define and implement the actions required to eliminate the root cause, and validate that the corrective actions prevented recurrence of the problem. Many practical examples on how to apply root cause analysis for various industrial problems are discussed in detail.</p>

The Commissioning Management System of CFB boiler coal power plants is covered in detail in this course. This includes all the commissioning procedures and documents, purpose of commissioning, responsibilities, system description, organization, working parties, test teams, documentation, testing and commissioning schedules, test reports, safety, plant certification, and plant completion report.</p>
<p>The course provides also a thorough understanding of all the commissioning requirements for CFB boiler and auxiliaries, turbines and auxiliaries, generator and auxiliaries, electrical equipment, switchgear equipment, switchgear, and transformers. All the stages of the commissioning procedure are covered in-depth in this course. <p>Your specialist course leader has more than 32 years of practical engineering experience with Ontario Power Generation (OPG), one of the largest electric utility in North America. He was previously involved in research on power generation equipment with Atomic Energy of Canada Limited at their Chalk River and Whiteshell Nuclear Research Laboratories. While working at OPG, he acted as a Training Manager, Engineering Supervisor, System Responsible Engineer and Design Engineer. During the period of time, he worked as a Field Engineer and Design Engineer, he was responsible for the operation, maintenance, diagnostics, and testing of gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, motors, transformers, inverters, valves, pumps, compressors, instrumentation and control systems. Further, his responsibilities included designing, engineering, diagnosing equipment problems and recommending solutions to repair deficiencies and improve system performance, supervising engineers, setting up preventive maintenance programs, writing Operating and Design Manuals, and commissioning new equipment. Later, he worked as the manager of a section dedicated to providing training for the staff at the power stations. The training provided by him covered in detail the various equipment and systems used in power stations. In addition, he has taught courses and seminars to more than four thousand working engineers and professionals around the world, specifically Europe and North America. He has been consistently ranked as 'Excellent' or 'Very Good' by the delegates who attended his seminars and lectures. He written 5 books for working engineers from which 3 have been published by McGraw-Hill, New York. Below is a list of the books authored by him;</p>
