As England’s leading spoken word poetry organisation, we exist to support poets at all stages of their careers. Working with inspiring people and organisations, we run regular live events and artist development programmes across the country. Through our Book a Poet scheme, we can help you find the best visiting artists for your workshops and events. We produce work in collaboration with other charities and organisations, including libraries, prisons, and housing associations. We believe that working collaboratively helps ensure that unheard voices become heard. Apples and Snakes is proud to have worked in partnership with a number of organisations, including BAC, Free Word, Southbank Centre, Rich Mix, Tate, Nuffield Southampton Theatres, Penguin Random House, Barbican Theatre Plymouth, Hull City of Culture, Roundhouse, Birmingham Hippodrome, Birmingham Repertory Theatre, RSC, Arc Stockton, The Royal Court, #Merky, EUTC, BBC, Brighton Dome, Nottingham Playhouse, and many more. Our Dawlish campus is situated in the coastal town of Dawlish near Exeter. It is a short walk from the town centre and the golden beach, with excellent transport links via bus or the Great western train line to Exeter, Plymouth and beyond. At Dawlish we provide learning programmes for around 80 learners, a small number of whom enjoy the residential experience in our onsite shared property, and in single and shared flats and houses in the nearby area. Our Torpoint campus is situated just a short walk from the ferryport and enjoys beautiful views of the River Tamar and beyond. We attract learners from both Plymouth and Cornwall to study here. Students benefit from accessing our local Torpoint community, but also take part in the huge range of trips and activities that Plymouth has to offer. At Oakwood Torpoint we provide learning for up to 25 learners. Torpoint is a day student only campus. Our newest campus, Oakwood Yate, is located in Yate, South Glos. with excellent transport links to Bristol and beyond. The campus benefits from being centrally located in the bustling town centre of Yate with a wide range of shops and leisure facilities providing excellent work experience and community access for our learners. At Oakwood Yate we provide learning for up to 15 learners. Yate is a day student only campus. The College’s focus is to develop the knowledge and skills of every learner to prepare them for independent life, living and work. We provide individualised and bespoke learning programmes that follow the pathways to adulthood, and include employment related qualifications and work experience. The College was inspected by OFSTED in September 2018, and judged to be good in all areas and Outstanding for Personal Development, Behaviour and Welfare (PDBW), with inspectors describing the learners as…” making excellent progress in their personal development and behaviour. They gain skills that can help them to be more independent in their daily lives”.

Improving relationships with food in a fun way, Food is Fun is a community interest company that reinvests profits to make a difference to people's lives, promoting healthy eating for everyone in the South West. We deliver cooking and budgeting courses and workshops to various groups across Plymouth, teaching the benefits of healthy eating and how achieving a nutritious and balanced diet for the whole family can be achieved on a low budget.   Food Is Fun CIC created what we thought would be a small group to support others with food worries caused by the pandemic. Three years on we've grown our group hugely. It’s been a tough year and food has been a huge part of that for many of us. We’ve been on an incredible journey together – baking, trying new recipes, swapping ingredients when they’re unavailable, sharing money saving tips, growing our own fruit and vegetables and sharing our successes, as well as the lessons we have learned. We are a not-for-profit organisation delivering our services across the South West. For over 25-years, CSW whilst uncovering learning and work opportunities for thousands of people, has adapted to meet market demand and changing government policies to develop a broad portfolio of provision. We support businesses, young people and adults through key transition points. These duties relate to the provision of services to encourage, enable or assist young people in effectively participating in education or training. To do this we are required to undertake tracking activities and to provide information to the DfE and the Local Authority in respect of personal information; individual characteristics and the current activities of young people aged 13-19.
