The Science of Acting The Science of Acting was founded by Sam Kogan, influenced by Maria Knebel; his teacher, who herself was a student of Stanislavski. The curriculum of the Science of Acting is founded on 4 principles: Freedom from Gods or Idols - Only once you learn to think for yourself will you be able to be free on stage. Right and Wrong - Statements such as ‘there is no right or wrong in acting’, or ‘you either have it or you don’t’ are common in Drama Education. But if this were true, there would be no point to a drama school, or to dramatic training of any kind. The Science of Acting therefore is based on a technique the knowledge of which has proven to give actors the training to be able to create inspiring acting. Quality of Acting - We believe that the best acting occurs when actors are able to use the right type of imagination (which we all have); that being active as opposed to passive imagination, which few actors are aware of or know how to use. Terminology or The Meaning of Words - For a group of actors to create the context of stories and therefore entertain, a common understanding through language in all its forms is necessary. This enables each individual actor to be free in their uniqueness, whilst creating a totality for the audience. The Science of Acting will enable you to become an independent actor who is able to play any character in any medium, always delivering the highest level of professional work. This is the magic of the Science of Acting.

Based in Reading (near M4 J12 ) I run a small well equipped workshop and hold classes for between 2-4 people at a time. This means you get plenty of individual attention, you won't have to wait long for any help you need and you will be surprised at the progress you can achieve in just one day. It is a fun day out I can guarantee you will find both satisfying and enjoyable. Art is food for the soul! Full & Half day workshops Take a look at the student gallery below to see some of the inspiring creations made at my workshops. Timings are 10am-4pm weekends and 9.30am-3.30pm weekdays and are priced at £100 per day or £50 for half day (mornings or afternoons, 3 hrs) with all materials and firings included. There is a set limit of glass allowance for workshops which allows me to keep the workshops at a very reasonable price..(extra glass can be purchased if you have time and wish to make more but I find the amount included in the price is usually enough anyway). 200sq cm for the half day= for example two 10x10cm coasters or one piece 12cm x 17cm of a tealight holder 400sq cm for the full day= four 10x10 coasters or a large free standing wave or a smaller wave + 2 x coaster size pieces ...basically, you can use your glass allowance how you wish. Work can be collected or delivered (cost of delivery is £10 per small parcel and £15 per large parcel) I also provide a variety of tea, coffee soft drinks and biscuits throughout the day.(included in the cost of the course) children taking part in half/full day workshops must be accompanied by a paying adult..9+ age is preferable but please let me know if your child is younger so we can discuss needs and suitability.

Eastbourne

The Chamberlain School of English is a small English family business that has been offering language trips for students (13-17 years old) to Eastbourne on the south coast of England during the school holidays in North Rhine-Westphalia (Easter/Summer) since 1984. During a language trip with us, the students can learn English at the same time as spending a wonderful holiday: specific English lessons in the morning, a varied leisure and entertainment program in the afternoon and evening, trips to London and Brighton and accommodation with English families - extensive language holidays at a fixed all-inclusive price. Thanks to our many years of experience, we know what makes a successful language trip for students. During each language trip there is always only one group. Since we have a limited number of students for each course, we get to know the children within a very short time and the students also quickly make new friends. Our very carefully selected host families for the language trip mostly live near the school or can be reached quickly by bus. The families are nice, open-minded and take good care of our students. We have a great English team of supervisors who are involved in all language travel activities and excursions. This also gives the students plenty of opportunity to use and improve their English in their free time. The teachers are experienced and adapt their lessons to the needs of the students. The small classes make it possible to support the students individually and to respond to the language difficulties of each individual. Our school building , Gildredge Manor , is a beautiful old manor house ideally situated in a lovely park setting close to the town centre. Not only the lessons take place here. We also host our entertainment afternoons and evenings here. Gildredge Manor isn't just home for our language study trips - we live here too, so our door is always open to our students.

It has always been all about dogs. My journey started in a local pet rescue centre where in seven years I have probably seen everything: various pet illnesses, serious behavioural issues, rehabilitation and success cases, you name it - I bet I have a story or two about it. Let me tell you a secret, though: once you become a volunteer, it does not take long until you rescue your first dog. I was not an exception and soon enough Beta joined our crazy family. Now, this is the point in the story where I immersed myself into dog training - my dog was far from perfect. It makes me smile now to remember all the chewed leashes, carpets, mom's shoes (it honestly seemed like Beta just enjoyed the expensive ones best). Oh, do not forget leash reactivity, barking at the house and doors shredded to pieces (I'm still convinced she was aiming for a Louvre worth art piece)! A number of dog psychology and training seminars, workshops, classes and courses were where you would have found me during my free time. At the same time, I started my professional dog show handling career and traveled around Europe showing dogs I trained. It was a no brainer what I want to do when I came to Scotland and so Sky Walks Glasgow was born. Two years later I finished my first diploma with the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers (IMDT) and kept helping people to become the coolest puppy parents! Dog and girl sitting in the nature What once started as a hobby has grown into this big team of four-legged stars and their humans that just could not fit under the old name anymore. So we grew. It's my pack and we are Sky Walkers! I was never about simply giving you instructions on what to do. If we work together, get your thinking hat ready because we are about to look at the world through your dog's eyes!

Welcome to Happy Voices! Throughout my industry experience, I started to notice when new students contacted me, there was a common theme to what they wanted to do with their voice: they all wanted control, vocal colour and, always, confidence. I started to get emails from people all the time asking for top tips and exercises on how to achieve these aims. These were people intimated by what they saw on talent shows on television, and yet they were intrigued by it at the same time; those who had never been apart of the school choir, or were being spoken over in meetings at work; who doubted their ability to sing, to karaoke or to speak, or whose voice cracked the moment they needed it to be strong. This led me to the dawning realization that: People all over the world use their voices every day, and yet, most of them don’t know how How do you use your voice in a happy and healthy way? How can you use it to get what you want? How do you control your voice? And importantly, how on earth do I reach out to all these people and help them to answer that question? I wanted to reach these people, ‘musical’ or ‘non-musical’, ‘beginner’ or ‘novice’, school choir or no school choir, and share knowledge with them, helping them gain control, colour and confidence in the everyday voice, singing or spoken. This is my aim! To help beginners gain control of their voices, without the need for a ‘musical background’. So, if you would like to learn more about your voice: Read through this website!
