Hi! I’m Helen. Yoga teacher, plant power nutrition enthusiast and anatomy nerd. I’m a lover of life and travel, trail running and surfing, plant-based food and sunshine. I believe in living life to the fullest, by doing what I can to feel optimal every day. My passion is sharing all that I’ve learned through yoga, meditation, nutrition and coaching, with others to feel their best too. I want to help you to be the best version of yourself: physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually, each and every day, because I know that yoga works profoundly on all these levels in making positive changes and improving lives. Take a class with me. My first experience of yoga was with Katy Appleton’s, Geri Halliwell DVD at age 15, that my mum gave me! Being a competitive swimmer at the time and completely focussed on my sport, I wasn’t impressed – I found it slow and boring. It wasn’t enough of a work out and I didn’t see the point (sorry Katy, I think you’re amazing now!). Oh, young Helen, how little you understood! Although I didn’t ‘get’ it at the time, I firmly believe that this was still a poignant introduction to yoga, something that would change my life in just a few years to come – thanks mum! Fast forward a few years, when I was 23 and teaching english as a foreign language in Japan. I started Karate lessons with one of my students and realised just how incredibly inflexible I was. One of my other students was training to become a yoga teacher and my interest was sparked. I started practising in my 11th story apartment (overlooking Mt Fuji nonetheless) several times a week to a Bryan Kest DVD and I became hooked on his Power Yoga style. This was more like it. The same year, one of my flat mates gave me a copy of The Power of Now, by Eckhart Tolle, and for me this was a turning point in my way of thinking, literally. I realised that we can be in control of our minds and that our minds should not control us. As my practice developed and I met and trained with great teachers, what began as a purely physical practice, evolved into something so much more. Yoga is a practice of the mind, body and spirit but we all have our own entry points. For most of us in the West, it is the physicality that attracts us. For some it is the desire for relaxation. But sooner or later, we find we’re gaining so much more than what we originally signed up for. It is this whole body and mind approach and the transformative effects that yoga has, that I want to share with you. Whether you’re new to yoga and curious, or more experienced in your practice and what to delve deeper, join me for a class, private session online or in person, or training.

The RYA Competent Crew course is aimed at beginners to the world of sailing, with little or no experience, who want to become active crew members rather than just passengers. After the course, you will be able to steer a yacht, handle sails, keep a lookout, row a dinghy and assist in the day-to-day routines of sailing a yacht as well as rope handling and general duties. No age limit. 5 Day Sailing Course - £695 RYA Instructor/Student Ratio max 1:5. To take this course, you must have completed at least 5 days, 100 miles and 4 night hours on board a sailing yacht, and must be 16 or older. 5 Day Sailing Course - £695 RYA Instructor/Student Ratio max 1:5. After this course, you will have the confidence to skipper a yacht on a coastal passage by day or night. Or if completing the Yachtmaster Offshore prep you will arrange with the school to book a RYA Examiner to take the 8/10 hour practical exam soon afterwards. To take this course(Coastal) you will have completed at least 15 days, 300 miles, 8 night hours and 2 days as skipper on board a sailing yacht, and must be 17 for Coastal and 18 for Yachtmaster Offshore for which you will need 2500 miles and three skippered passages over 60 miles plus 50 night hours. 5 Day Sailing Course - £695 RYA Instructor/Student Ratio max 1:5. This course is a requirement for anyone who owns a fixed or handheld marine VHF radio. The Short Range Certificate (SRC) is the minimum qualification required by law to control the operation of VHF and VHF Digital Selective Calling (DSC) equipment on any British flagged vessel voluntarily fitted with a radio. We are running a funded training programme for people interested in working in social care called an Introduction to social care. The three-day training is available for anyone living in Wales and it will take place on-line. The training days are over three consecutive days with a workbook to complete. The times are from 10am-2:30pm. The training will cover the essentials you need to start working in social care such as communication, safeguarding and working practices. When you start working in the sector, you will also receive extra support and training from your employer. If you are unable to access the on-line training or require support, please contact us at contact@wecare.wales. If you are unsure about a career in social care, there is a tool you can use to help you explore this and see what the work is like www.WeCare.wales/a-question-of-care-intro/. To work within the social care sector, you will need to have some checks to make sure you are suitable to work in the care sector, we will help you with these. This will include something called a Disclosure and Barring System (DBS) check to make sure you can work in social care. Certain roles also require Social Care Wales registration. This programme is not an accredited qualification in health and social care. Hadfields cafe became BOOBS Approved after opening just weeks ago.Be Open on Breastfeeding Salford (B.O.O.B.S) and our sister project BOOBS in Bury are open community groups set up to empower women to be open about their breastfeeding experiences and inspire others to breastfeed for longer. We believe every mum should have the chance to have a happy, safe and comfortable breastfeeding journey. BOOBS is part of our parent social enterprise Visit from the Stork CIC and was first set up in 2014 by CEO Kimberly Bond.
