What is the IELTS Test? TELTS = International English Language Testing System. lt is the world's biggest English language test with test centres in most countries. This means it is a test which accepts international English, not only British English. There are four parts to the IELIS test: IELTS Speaking - a face to face informal test with an examiner which lasts between 11 and 14 mins and is made up of 3 parts. AllIELTS candidates take the same test. IELTS Listening -a 30 minute audio recording with 40 questions. Al IELTS candidates take the same test. IELTS Reading -3 reading passages with 40 questions which lasts for 1 hour. This test is divided into Academic and General Training papers. IELTS Writing-this is divided into taskl and task 2. Task 1 Academic is a short report of a chart, graph, map table etc. Task 1 GT is a letter. lask 2 Academic & GT is a formal essay. IELIS writirng lasts forl hour in total. A recording of Alastair's live online performance during the Covid-19 crisis for the World Storytelling Cafe Alastair K. Daniel is a performance storyteller, researcher, writer and consultant in storytelling (and related fields) working in the UK and abroad. Following twelve years touring schools in the UK and the Low Countries with The Story Tent, in 2010 Alastair made the move from professional storytelling to academia. In the summer of 2022, Alastair ended his term as Principal Lecturer in Primary English at the University of Roehampton in 2022 to focus on storytelling once more, and develop his work as an independent scholar. Alastair's 'Story Tent' style brings traditional and literary texts to life through physicalisation, puppets, masks, costumes, artefacts, rhymes and songs - creating performances in which the distinction between performer and audience become blurred. The Story Tent project came out of Alastair's use of storytelling as a teaching strategy with children with profound emotional and behavioural difficulties. He found that storytelling (contrasted with story-reading) provided a unique method of drawing children, who often had difficulties with imaginative play, into new worlds. As a consultant and researcher, Alastair has worked with a range of organisations and specialises in the application of oral storytelling in educational contexts and the use of narrative analysis to evaluate educational programmes.

Singing and Teaching Singing Training for Performers and TeachersAbout this year’s courses We have launched a brand-new digital format for our courses this year which includes a core component workshop every month, followed by a practice group session that is designed to practically reinforce the theory learnt in the component workshop. We hope this will give you time to explore the theory behind our teaching model and to experience all its practical elements so that you can integrate these skills into your own singing and teaching more easily. By splitting the teaching model down into its component parts, we are offering participants the ability to have the full experience of one of our flagship 5-day courses but from the comfort of their own home. This is something we have been asked for previously and we are delighted to now be able to offer such flexibility. As well as a new digital format we are now offering participants who are unable to attend, for whatever reason, on the days or times below, the opportunity to have access to the full workshop or practice group recording of the live session. I have been a drummer for over 25 years and my professional career saw me touring the U.K. and Europe extensively. I also have a vast experience of sound engineering and promoting as well as recording. Having started with snare drum and percussion at school including playing with the Bristol School's Orchestra I later started playing the drum kit and taking my playing and lessons seriously. After a great deal of experience playing with local bands I met some very talented and experienced musicians with whom I set up a highly successful professional function band. This band toured extensively every year for 10 years both in the U.K. and abroad with their favourites being Holland, Germany and Portugal gaining an excellent reputation and attracting top level management. I mixed this with deps and recordings for a variety of artists covering many different styles. I started teaching drums privately after completing my first teaching qualification (I then quickly become a fully qualified teacher through studying in my free time). After building-up a successful private practice I taught in primary and secondary schools for Bristol City Council, Bath & North East Somerset and Wiltshire County Council. I have also taught in private schools and ran several series of highly popular band workshops in youth clubs in Bristol and Bath. I currently mix teaching drums with playing regularly with a variety of bands and teaching at Bath College.

Just Another Label (JAL) primarily works with production music and over nineteen years has focussed on supplying electronic, urban and pop music to many established Production Music Libraries. JAL entered into the music industry in 1992 and has since been involved in many ventures across the industry as a recording company, commercial publisher, production music library and third party administrator. From 1992, through JAL and many other labels, the company released a multitude of records on vinyl, CD and digital formats, enjoying great acclaim in the underground UK dance music scene. We proudly received an Ivor Novello in 2003 for "Best Original Music For Television" for the Channel 4 production Feltham Sings From 2005, JAL slowed down their release of records and progressed into the production music industry. They have since supplied mainly electronic music to the production music libraries of companies including Extreme Music, Warner Bros, Universal and EMI. JAL has always had a keen interest in the community and has spent time volunteering to deliver music-related projects to young people alongside youth-groups and various local councils. JAL has also delivered musical and music industry themed workshops with tutors at further education colleges in addressing subjects including diversity, equal opportunities, prejudice and discrimination. We are currently expanding into multi-media productions to offer comprehensive services in the audio/visual industry. Within the music sector JAL provides photography and video services to organisations and artists for production of viral content and marketing propaganda.

TWIC is a focal point for biological recording and is working to increase our knowledge of the terrestrial, freshwater and marine wildlife throughout our area. We collate data from a wide range of sources and manage data on species, habitats and designated sites. Data from TWIC is used to support environmental decision making, education, site management, conservation, and research. TWIC supports Local Biodiversity Action Plan partnerships and acts as a regional node of the National Biodiversity Network [https://nbn.org.uk/]. TWIC provides support and opportunities for recorders and wildlife observers to develop their knowledge and skills through our training and events programme. I’m Julia and was born & raised in Berlin Germany and have moved to Liverpool to give singing lessons and to be part of the wonderful music community here. I am a singer, songwriter and highly qualified singer teacher & vocal coach and have a long teaching experience with teenagers and adults at music schools and in private singing lessons. I've been teaching singing for nearly 15 years, both privately and at music schools, and I'm regularly internationally on stage myself with my own music as a solo singer, or with other artists as a backing vocalist. I also work as a studio singer, composer, and conductor of choirs. I studied music education for vocals pop rock jazz at the University of the Art Bremen ('Hochschule für Künste', Bremen, Germany) and do regular training to apply and teach the latest vocal techniques. My last trainings were Complete Vocal Technique, Circle Singing and Inclusion Oriented Circus and Movement Education. Being an active singer and songwriter enriches my teaching, because I can teach you not only the techniques you need on stage, in the studio or when writing songs, but I can share my enthusiasm and love for the music with you. I have successfully prepared many singing students for auditions and competitions and helped them to win first prizes. Also, I've helped many students to pass the entrance exams at Colleges and University to study music. I have taught singers of all ages and levels - beginners, advanced or even professionals who just need support for a tour, a recording session or a specific concert.
