Critical incidents come in different shapes and sizes and can cause a range of distressing and disabling reactions. Taking in Gladys into his home and acting as her primary carer, Derek became aware first hand of how difficult it was to book trustworthy care in Hackney. After being let down by all the care agencies on offer, it was time to change the system. We believe that the people receiving care (that’s you reading this, or your parent’s, aunt’s, uncle’s or grandparent’s) are the most important people in the delivery of the care. Not some whizzy app which doesn’t do much, or getting let down before your first assessment.

My name is Marina, I am a native French, from the south of France near Carcassonne. I have been living in Edinburgh for 7 years and I have been teaching French for 3 years. Although I started a totally different career when I arrived in Scotland, I always knew that teaching was my true passion.
