Have you ever noticed that a child is often happy to draw with abandon at 5 and yet by the time they reach 10 or even an adult, they sometimes no longer feel like they can draw? Can you relate to that yourself? Why is that?  Could it be that we are taught there is a 'right' and wrong' way to draw or that we just don't get enough time in school dedicated to the visual arts? Could it be that you were told that only people with 'talent' can draw? At Go Sketch Club we want to change that so that everyone can feel happy and confident when they sit down to draw. Yes, that also includes you if you would like to have some fun arty time with your child. We offer: Pre-recorded courses so you can access them whenever you want with a lifetime access so no monthly fee Free live art weeks  (Join our newsletter [https://gosketch.us8.list-manage.com/subscribe?u=63334a4b2588cd3045ff67bee&id=696600e793] so you don't miss out) Live Art Clubs for the whole family to draw together (Age 5-adult) Click here for more info [https://www.gosketchclub.com/liveclasses] Live Group Drawing Tuition for age 9-16 on zoom. Brushstrokes Courses provides art instruction and courses, building creative confidence in a variety of artistic skills, from drawing to painting. Students are given individual support and taught best practices while remaining encouraged to explore their own artistic identity. Founded in 2020 by qualified art teacher Laura Truesdale, Brushstrokes has already helped over 100 artists learn the skills to create their masterpiece. Each Brushstrokes course is designed to accommodate, grow, and challenge artists at every level. Beginners will enjoy Laura’s encouragement and fun teaching style. Intermediate students will be challenged to push themselves. Established artists will find new inspiration or engage with novel mediums to round their craft. Each week’s lessons build on the week prior, creating habits and artistic tools that will stick for life. Free from institutional restraints, Brushstrokes puts student wellbeing back at the heart of the classes. Laura draws on her background in social work, PGCE training, and over a decade of teaching experience to ensure students are supported. If you want to learn the history of art, the context of a piece of work, build your creative confidence, develop technical skill, brush up on your existing skills, or be inspired, then Brushstrokes Courses is for you. Laura gained her BA in Art from the University of Reading in 2013 and went onto to achieve her PGCE in Secondary School Art Teaching in 2016. Since receiving Qualified Teacher Status in 2017, she has taught in the local community, before establishing Brushstrokes Courses in January 2020.

It’s that cool, no-nonsense, free spirit sensibility that characterizes the experience with Steph Wall Yoga. A modern yoga teacher with mischievous and playful side, Steph delivers a unique and empowering practice for students with a wide range of needs. There is an air of mystery around Steph herself, something powerful yet vulnerable, a compelling combination that keeps her students both intrigued and intensely loyal.” A lover of the unseen, insatiably curious and forever diving into the darkness, Steph owes much of her knowledge to the whispers yoga gave her to keep discovering, unravelling and growing amid her darkest days. Always learning from life itself, Yoga has become the container she uses to hold herself in as she reclaims the wild, mysterious, essence inside of her. Steph feels a deep and powerful call to translate the complex and rich tradition of Yoga to the modern-day human looking to develop themselves consciously, authentically and deeply. She continually expands her knowledge in several different domains of Yoga to grow with the tradition as it grows with her. Standing side by side with the tradition, her students, nature and the mysteries of life, Steph dives deep into the unknown to discover the complex, intricate and potent curiosities of life. Steph has been practicing Yoga for over a decade and completed over 1000 hours of training. Her primary teachers are Julia McCabe and Tiffany Cruikshank. Her passion lies in discovering the physical body and the complexities of Hinduism, translated via vinyasa and yin yoga.

London

PEER is a neighbourhood space for art and culture. Over the past twenty-three years we have evolved from the ground up, and are now deeply embedded in the socially, culturally, and economically diverse area of Hoxton, East London. Located in a converted shopfront in Arden Estate on Hoxton Street, our street facing gallery hosts a programme of new commissions by artists presented as solo exhibitions, group exhibitions, research projects and events. PEER overlooks and maintains Khadija’s Garden and Chris Ofili’s Black Hands pedestal clock. To support and encourage dialogue between visitors, artists and their work, a programme of event-based activity takes place throughout each exhibition, including talks, performances and workshops. Central to all our activities is PEER Ambassadors, a two-part programme for people aged 17 – 25 that offers paid work-experience at PEER, alongside a free, collaborative, and creative programme working closely with an artist on a new public art commission as part of PEER Notices. PEER provides an experimental space for artists to explore new directions in their work. Previous and recent artist commissions include, Mike Nelson, Bob & Roberta Smith, Danh Vō, Fiona Banner, Jonathan Baldock & Emma Hart, Jimmy Robert, Jadé Fadojutimi and Lubna Chowdhary, among others. We programme sustainable co-commissions with national and international partners, as well as collaborate with residents, community organisers, educators, schools, libraries and charities. Recent partnerships include, Hoxton Trust, Hackney Circle, Shoreditch Library and Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art.
