We are going to use the online platform ZOOM. You can use ZOOM via your laptop, PC and MAC or you can download the app for your tablets and smart phones following this link:

The zoom link will be in the Additional Information of the ticket which will be emailed to you after booking (Check your junk!). If you do not recieve this, contact us and we will send you the link.

This workshop is run by ART IN THE PARK: Art in the Park aims to involve people of all ages and abilities in designing and making art work at their studios and outdoor sites. After being on the brink of burnout myself, I stumbled upon simple, yet life-changing self-help and relaxation tools. These quick, effective techniques helped me rebuild my resilience, reclaim my sense of self and navigate challenges with renewed strength. The transformation was so profound that I knew I had to share it with others — and that’s how The SHARE Project was born.
What is The SHARE Project?
The SHARE Project is built on a simple principle: you need to put your own oxygen mask on first!  By nurturing yourself, you’re better equipped to support your children. Through our four-week, live online workshop series, delivered via Zoom, you’ll discover practical tools to bring more calm and happiness into your daily life.
Here’s what you can expect:
Weekly Workshops:  Each week, we’ll introduce and practice a new tool designed to fit seamlessly into your life (just a few minutes a day, I promise!). These are not your typical “luxury spa day” suggestions — because let’s face it, who has time for that?  Instead, you’ll learn sustainable, go-to strategies that you can use anytime, anywhere, to boost your wellbeing, even in the midst of chaos.  You will also receive a mid-week email of encouragement between workshops and printables to help record and track your progress.
Ongoing Support:  In each session, we’ll review your progress, fine-tune your approach, and introduce the next tool.  
Community Connection: You’ll be part of a supportive group of fellow SEN parents and carers who understand the unique challenges you face.

Our aim is to introduce and build crafting skills and the basic skills needed for success in the workplace and at home, including self-confidence, problem solving, communicating in a group, basic maths and English. We teach over 45 different paper craft and mixed media techniques. Each course is carefully constructed to help you develop your crafting skills and knowledge. &nbsp;Crafting and our courses are mindful, taking us away from the day-to-day. Participants have consistently reported improvements in their wellbeing. &nbsp;Anyone who wants to learn new skills can join our programmes. &nbsp;No previous experience of papercrafting or mixed media work is needed. We have delivered courses successfully in Cambridgeshire for 6 1/2 years and have worked with 280 Cambridges residents during this time. 86% of participants state that what we offer has helped to improve their wellbeing. 75% state that it has made a positive difference to their daily lives. &nbsp;Please note that the Cademy calenda/description states that this course is over 13 weeks. This is because the 10 weeks of the course are delivered over 13 weeks, during 3 of which, Craft4Smiles is closed for holidays!&nbsp;

Craft4Smiles C.I.C. 

A standalone 10-week quilling course - 2 hours per week online with daytime and evening options - that will introduce you to the materials, tools, and techniques used in quilling and to Craft4Smiles C.I.C and our tutors. This course has been designed to give you a taste of what it is like to study with us virtually, as well as giving you tailored support for your university application. You will get a virtual art university experience, and a chance to meet some of the lecturers for the subjects you are interested in studying.
You’ll get an insight into how our January-start degrees are taught, how you submit work and how you can develop your skills. This course has been designed to help you feel equipped to commence your studies in January 2025, on one of our January-start degrees.

Session 2 - Wednesday 20 November 2024, 3 hrs / 8:45am - 11:45am
Experience a live lecture from Jason Hirons, our Course Leader for Distance Learning. This interactive session will give you a preview of what it's like to be part of our dynamic online distance learning course, engage with course content and ask questions in real time.

Session 3 - Wednesday 18 December 2024, 3 hrs / 8:45am - 11:45am
Enjoy an informative and engaging session led by the Adam Levi, our Senior Learning Technologist and all-round expert in tools for digital education. In this session, you'll gain valuable insights into navigating Canvas, our online learning platform, ensuring you feel confident in managing your coursework, accessing resources, and participating in discussions. You'll also have the opportunity to engage in an interactive workshop designed to enhance your learning experience.
As a student on one of our January-start degrees, you’ll join a truly global community of creative learners. This hybrid degree allows you to complete your first year of studies remotely by July 2025, before taking a short summer break and then continuing straight on to the second year of your chosen degree, studying in-person at our city-centre Plymouth campus, in September 2025. This option is available for the following degrees:

To really get the most out of this course, participants are advised to make space for home practice. In this course we explore how we have attempted to build inclusive circles of support around individuals and contrast this with a radical approach to hospitality and community building &ndash; the Community Circle.

The purpose of community circles is to bring people from a local community together to share their skills, talents, gifts and resources. This idea is based upon the premise that ALL of us need three things in our lives to make us happy and fulfilled: these are&nbsp;money, friendship and meaning. We believe that everyone needs community, everyone needs to be heard and everyone needs to have fun.

Community Circles are based upon reciprocity and the assumption that EVERYONE has both gifts and needs &ndash; whether these are labelled or not. The circles adopt the fundamental value of inclusion that &lsquo;all means all&rsquo;, no one is excluded from community circles, instead the&nbsp;circle&nbsp;members work out how to include everyone equally and safely.

A community&nbsp;circle&nbsp;is made up of participants and allies from the local community. The meeting starts with everyone sharing food and conversations. Next the group comes together in a&nbsp;circle&nbsp;so that everyone can see each other and shares what is good and new in their lives, everyone gets a turn to be listened to. &lsquo;New and Good&rsquo; breaks the habit of thinking about and acting from what&rsquo;s wrong, it is an exercise of giving and receiving attention with one another and it also provides a strong foundation of strengths from which we can think about and tackle difficulties. The group is then asked the question what do they&nbsp;want,&nbsp;need&nbsp;or&nbsp;have to offer.

Community circles provide a great foundation or starting point from which to explore connections, build relationships, locate resources and share skills. These circles will be a particularly important resource for Brokers and the people that they work for. They provide a safe forum in which people can meet and friendships can start, a natural reservoir of people and relationships where people can be invited to offer their time and capacity.

To be successful we have to start from a belief in inclusion. A belief that:

1 &nbsp;We are all born &lsquo;in&rsquo;.

2 &nbsp;All means all.

3 &nbsp;Everyone needs to belong.

4 &nbsp;Everyone is ready.

5 &nbsp;Everyone needs support.

6 &nbsp;Everyone can communicate.

7 &nbsp;Everyone can contribute.

8 &nbsp;Together we&rsquo;re better.

In this course we explore how we have attempted to build inclusive circles of support around individuals and contrast this with a radical approach to hospitality and community building – the Community Circle.
The purpose of community circles is to bring people from a local community together to share their skills, talents, gifts and resources. This idea is based upon the premise that ALL of us need three things in our lives to make us happy and fulfilled: these are money, friendship and meaning. We believe that everyone needs community, everyone needs to be heard and everyone needs to have fun.
Community Circles are based upon reciprocity and the assumption that EVERYONE has both gifts and needs – whether these are labelled or not. The circles adopt the fundamental value of inclusion that ‘all means all’, no one is excluded from community circles, instead the circle members work out how to include everyone equally and safely.
A community circle is made up of participants and allies from the local community. The meeting starts with everyone sharing food and conversations. Next the group comes together in a circle so that everyone can see each other and shares what is good and new in their lives, everyone gets a turn to be listened to. ‘New and Good’ breaks the habit of thinking about and acting from what’s wrong, it is an exercise of giving and receiving attention with one another and it also provides a strong foundation of strengths from which we can think about and tackle difficulties. The group is then asked the question what do they want, need or have to offer.
Community circles provide a great foundation or starting point from which to explore connections, build relationships, locate resources and share skills. These circles will be a particularly important resource for Brokers and the people that they work for. They provide a safe forum in which people can meet and friendships can start, a natural reservoir of people and relationships where people can be invited to offer their time and capacity.
To be successful we have to start from a belief in inclusion. A belief that:
1 We are all born ‘in’.
2 All means all.
3 Everyone needs to belong.
4 Everyone is ready.
5 Everyone needs support.
6 Everyone can communicate.
7 Everyone can contribute.
8 Together we’re better.

To explore ways of helping with friendship, social connection and education.
To increase confidence, social skills and presence of disabled adults and those with a wide range of need in their local community by focusing on their contribution.
