Hadfields cafe became BOOBS Approved after opening just weeks ago.Be Open on Breastfeeding Salford (B.O.O.B.S) and our sister project BOOBS in Bury are open community groups set up to empower women to be open about their breastfeeding experiences and inspire others to breastfeed for longer. We believe every mum should have the chance to have a happy, safe and comfortable breastfeeding journey. BOOBS is part of our parent social enterprise Visit from the Stork CIC and was first set up in 2014 by CEO Kimberly Bond. In the United Kingdom various providers have always been able to run their own schools, whether via the maintained or independent sector. This has enabled many faith and other groups to establish and run schools which appeal to different cohorts throughout the country. In England, all schools registered with the Department for Education need to comply with regulations and guidelines which are based on legislation and current educational thinking. Schools are inspected and regulated by Ofsted – a non-ministerial department of the UK Government. Since the 2010 Equalities Act, and more recently the Children and Social Work Act 2018, the Department for Education has revised their regulations and guidelines in such a way that challenges foundational religious beliefs and traditional family values. It is very clear that Ofsted and the Department for Education are focused on promoting an agenda whereby “all protected characteristics are equal, but some characteristics are more equal than others”. Simultaneously there has been a calculated and concerted effort by secular humanist organisations to not only investigate and undermine practices in faith schools, but to attack the bedrocks of convention and belief that are the cornerstones of schools who promote faith and traditional family structures. The current challenges in education threaten human rights including the freedom of parents to choose the education they wish for their child.

Sarah Harris and Rick Johnstone, qualified school teachers and ASA swimming teacher trainers, have created a swim tuition programme designed to elicit best results from swimmers on an ongoing basis, by focusing on such important concepts as: MOTIVATION ENJOYMENT EXCITEMENT PROGRESS POSITIVITY SUCCESS We teach small groups of children, from complete beginners to advanced swimmers on the verge of competitive training. Our youngest performers are 2 years old, who are joined in the pool by their parent / carer. Of course safety is a paramount consideration in everything we do. Our programme comprises of 8 attainment levels, with clearly defined criteria for progress from one stage to the next. We promote happiness and enjoyment in swimming and cultivate a success-filled environment for all, at every level throughout the programme. The Yorkshire Dales Centre was established in October 1975 at the Yorkshire Centres, West & North Groups AGM at the Winter Gardens Ilkley. The Yorkshire Dales Centre was fully formed from 1st January 1976 with a chairman Mr Roy Knowles. In January 1976 the first YDC brochure was produced in the style of a “cheque book”. The first rally 13-15 February 1976 and had a valentines theme, it was held at Old Bilton with a rally fee of £1.30p . On the 26-28th March 1976 the centre held its christening & dedication rally at Pool Bank (Chevin Park). September 1978 the first YDC organised Three Peaks Walk took place that grew & grew until some 120 walkers registered to take part, with a briefing Saturday morning at 7.30am. In 1984 at the AGM there were 262 voting members present and 1985 272 which included 28 Teenagers. April 1982 the centre hosted its 500th rally at Ripley Castle. April 1987 the centre hosted its 1000th rally at Bolton Abbey (rather wet venue). July 1996 21st year Thorp Perrow. July 2000 silver jubilee & millennium rally at Woodhouse Grove School Appley bridge. July 2005 30th year celebration rally Pateley Bridge. April 2009 2500th rally at Harewood House. April 2015 40th year celebration at Harewood House. We are currently starting to look for a venue so we can begin preparations for our 50th Birthday in 2025.

The LFI offers a unique education. From primary school on, the pupils are immersed in a multicultural and bilingual environment. Innovative and creative teaching programmes allow the children to be educated in favourable learning conditions. LFI follows the teaching programmes of the French Department for National Education, while taking into account the local environment and the pupils themselves. Mastery of the French language, the teaching language, and its expansion are at the heart of the syllabus. Workshops for small groups in the primary school and junior cycle allow the pupils for whom it is not their mother tongue to make rapid progress. In the same way, the modern languages policy emphasises English, the language of our host country. Every pupil from the youngest up follows an individual progression. In 5e (First Year), the pupils join the Eurocampus, run jointly with our partner St. Kilian’s. French, German, Irish and other pupils take classes together. At the end of 3e (Third Year), the children sit two exams, the French Diplôme National de Brevet (DNB) and the Irish Junior Certificate. In this way LFI as a school develops European citizenship every day and offers its pupils a real road to success. In the classes of senior cycle, the pupils can continue an international programme with the European Section or the International Section (Option Internationale du Baccalauréat, OIB section américaine).

Kathy King is a Science and Psychology specialist who has worked with a variety of vulnerable groups including young people with special educational needs, including social, emotional and behavioural problems, and the homeless. She is passionate about showing others the power of being active in nature and using outdoor activities as a tool to improve wellbeing. Her research has proven that participation in a 6-week Forest School programme can increase attendance and reduce exclusion rates from mainstream school. Applying the fundamentals of the holistic Forest School approach in all that she does, Kathy believes this can create positive changes in behaviour. Kathy made a life-changing decision to leave teaching and enrol on an outdoor instructor programme after experiencing high levels of work-related stress and anxiety. The 2-day a week course provided an opportunity to master new skills and focus on what she considered to be most important in life. It was on the water that the idea for the Wild Camp Training Programme was born. This is a project aimed at young women who are currently out of education, employment and/or training (N.E.E.T) and is designed to empower and increase physical and mental health. Since then, the charity has evolved to deliver after school clubs, forest school sessions, holiday clubs, 1-1 outdoor activity sessions and group days out.
