Ayurvedic Yoga Massage (AYM) was developed by Master Kusum Modak [http://www.yogaspira.com/kusum_interview.html] in Pune, India, after many years of studying traditional Ayurvedic massage and Iyengar yoga. Treatments are deeply relaxing and nourishing, and can be as gentle or deep as appropriate for the client on the day. Like yoga, AYM treatments can look very different, as we adjust the treatments to the needs of different clients on different days. The style of each session is adjusted to serve client needs, so sessions can be more or less dynamic, deep, energetic, slow, nurturing and soothing. The aim of the sessions is to help the client feel more centred, and the energy to flow more freely through the body. This usually includes an oil massage and stretches if appropriate for the client - like something that might be included in a sports massage, physio or osteo treatment. But, in the tradition of Ayurveda, we recognise that it is not only the quality of the soft tissues that we need to work with. Our state of mind and our feelings are not independent of how we feel in our physical bodies. So our primary objective is always to work in a way that allows the client to feel relaxed and safe in their body, and able to breathe deeply. As part of that process, we work to create a safe and nurturing space for the client, and we also try to activate the breathing muscles, relax the tissues around the rib cage, abdomen and pelvis, and promote awareness of the breath. Then we focus on physically softening any tension in the muscles, ligaments, tendons and fascia, and to promote healthy joint mobility, by encouraging the nervous system to relax, as well as by physically manipulating tissues with oil massage, passive stretches, tractions and mobilisations as appropriate. By helping clients feel more safe, supported and well in their bodies we can also help reduce stress levels, and promote the healthy function of all the body’s systems. Treatments are sometimes focused on the area where there is an injury or pain, but generally, over a course of treatments we tend to work with the whole body, as everything is interconnected through the nervous system, fascia, circulation and through our movement patterns. So depending on what the client’s priorities are, we usually recommend a series of treatments to help promote the health of the whole body, and to help work on the causes of the issues that the client wants to work on. Regular treatments can also help to promote our physical and mental health, so we can work towards being as healthy and well as we can. Prevention is always better than cure, and by working on our wellness we can really start seeing the benefits in our life, relationships and our work, as well as on our physical and mental health. AYM is always adjusted to the needs of the client on the day, but it is usually a deep tissue oil massage followed by assisted yoga stretches, tractions and mobilisations. All the testimonials our therapists receive speak volumes about how popular this type of massage is becoming. Have a look in the therapist directory [https://ayurvedicyogamassageuk.org/therapists/] to find out what people have to say about the treatments they’ve had. WHAT TO EXPECT DURING AN AYURVEDIC YOGA MASSAGE In practical terms, treatments work on the whole body, with more emphasis on the areas that need more work. * A session starts with an oil massage using hands and feet. This gradually warms up and softens muscle tissues and fascia, relaxes the body and mind, helps breathing and improves circulation. * We work specifically with the breath to help the nervous system to relax. * We use natural oils and a powder from the ground root of Acorus calamus [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acorus_calamus], a wetland plant in the sweetflag family. This gives a pleasant exfoliating feeling, but mainly helps improve circulation and warm up the tissues, intensifying the benefits of the massage. * The oil massage is supported by gentle mobilisations, tractions and assisted (passive) yoga stretches. These help lengthen the tissues in a functional way, useful if you’ve had injuries. Through these gentle movements we help relax the tendons and ligaments, and improve the circulation and promote natural healing in joints. * Want to see a massage in action? Check out our Ayurvedic Yoga Massage videos. [https://ayurvedicyogamassageuk.org/videos/] WHY IS AYURVEDIC YOGA MASSAGE SO BENEFICIAL? * Ayurvedic Yoga Massage works with both oil massage and movements, meaning your body gains all the benefits of both. * Therapists take time to understand your needs and your limits so you never feel over or under worked. * Combining working close to your limits and using breathing to help activate the parasympathetic nervous system helps release tension from even the most ‘stuck’ parts of your body. * Massaging, moving or stretching tense muscles can cause pain, resistance or agitation. The mindful touch and deep, relaxed breathing that AYM offers helps retrain the nervous system to not react in this way. This is great for moving you out of chronic pain. * This whole-person approach to Ayurvedic Yoga Massage gives a lasting feeling of being centred, where you are less likely to feel agitated or restless, and experience increased clarity of thought. * The approach aims to help you develop body awareness. WHY THERAPISTS LOVE AYM TOO! Ayurvedic Yoga Massage is a wonderful experience for the therapist too. Initially we use a sequence to warm up the body, which allows the session to become a moving meditation. Even new practitioners can experience this, by working to a set sequence that they plan at the beginning of a session. It is also a wonderful technique for other therapists to learn as a compliment to their style, and for yoga teachers to offer at the end of a yoga private. Ayurvedic Yoga Massage is also wonderful for therapists to offer as we work on the floor. So we can use our body weight to offer pressure, and use several parts of our body such as hands/palms, thumbs, knuckles, elbows, fists, feet or knees. So we can always work in the best direction, with the best pressure, and using the optimal surface area so that we can manipulate tissues as necessary, without creating unnecessary pain sensations for the client, and without stressing any joints or muscle groups for the therapist. We also change positions frequently, and look into body dynamics in the training, so offering massage can be a healing experience for the therapist too, not just for the client. Almost like attending an easy yoga class, even though offering AYM is by no means a substitute for a yoga practice. If this is something you would like to learn read about our sought after workshops [https://ayurvedicyogamassageuk.org/workshops/] and trainings [https://ayurvedicyogamassageuk.org/trainings/]. If you can’t find a suitable therapist, get in touch with us using the contact form [https://ayurvedicyogamassageuk.org/contact/]. We have trained hundreds of therapists in the UK and Europe, and not all of them opt to be in a therapist directory, but will take on new clients if we refer them.

Hi I'm Lisa and I live in the middle of the Test Valley in Hampshire, with my husband, two children, my dog Inca and cat Ebury. After having my son George in 2015 and moving from a city to a village, I decided to put my career in the corporate world on hold and spend time at home being a mummy. This life style change enabled me to explore my creative side. I loved living in a village and joined one of the local village WI groups and their craft club. I also took a number of workshops including blind making and cake decorating. However my love of jewellery, magpie tendencies and previous experience with bead work, soon lead me to the magic of Silver Clay. Once I found Silver Clay I was hooked! My ability and design ideas soon had my teacher suggesting I start a small business. This is how Country Designs by Lisa was born in 2017. All my work is inspired by the country side and nature around me. I love nothing more than going foraging on a dog walk or when out and about with my children and often come back with pockets filled with more items collected on walks than my children! . I love to learn and am continuing to update my skills and over the last few years I have added traditional silversmith techniques to my work. I have also passed my Level 1 and Level 2 Art Clay certificates and i'm currently working towards my Level 3. Gaining Level 1 & 2 enables me to teach under the Art Clay banner, this was very important for me to pass before I started to teach as it gives me the knowledge and skills to teach my students correctly. Most of my range, except some smaller items, are fully hallmarked by the London Assay Office. This is a 700 year old tradition that gives buyers the assurance they are buying a quality item which has been fully tested by the Assay Office. If you are looking for a special gift or just a treat for yourself then come and browse my shop by clicking on the 'shop' button below. If you would like to learn the alchemy of silver clay then why not book yourself onto one of my workshops? I run workshops for complete beginners through to intermediates. I also teach 1 to 1's if you want to learn something specific. Click on the 'Workshop's' button below to find out more.

Meet Cindy Trance Medium & Certified Intuitive Consultant Welcome if you’re new here! I am a trance medium, spiritual teacher and qualified therapist, practicing at the Light Centre Belgravia in London, UK. I also love teaching Reiki level 1 to parents and kids who are great channels. I am a natural medium, raised by a great healer, my wonderful great grandma; but for most of my life I denied my mediumistic abilities because of fear of the unseen world. My awareness of the Spirit World had awakened again when I went through a major life change after having my 2nd son in 2014. The journey started with deep healing, work on myself, followed by an amazing personal development. After the lengthy soul-searching, I got a clear understanding of my life purpose. I understood intuitively that my true gift was being able to help others share unspoken or deeply harboured narratives. Some of the people I meet through my work have powerful and affecting tales to share. They have been survivors of mental, physical and sexual abuse at the hands of others who did not hold their best interests at heart. I too have had to go on a confronting journey of healing, and today I offer myself as a bridge for others. My work now, as both survivor and light worker to people who are still wandering lost in the dark, is helping navigate a pathway from hopelessness to life-affirming power. Whatever the challenge you have when you come to see me, I am able to use the combination of all my abilities to help you ...assisted by the unseen world. My work as a healing medium has the advantage of being compatible with any type of medical treatment. I am not a doctor and as such do not make diagnosis. Think of energy healing simply as a good auxiliary of care in strengthening your energy field. Since my awakening I attended teachings of Trance medium Elizabeth Roberts at the College of Psychic Studies in South Kensington, London. I also regularly attends Trance mediumship weekly intensive courses at the Arthur Findlay College, Stansted, England. Today I am honoured to serve Spirit and connect you with your loved ones as well as help you along your life path physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually! Today I continue my development following teachings from Trance Medium Janet Neville, psychic medium Sharon DeBarolo Carmack DSNU and Trance medium Andrej Djordjevitch. I aim to show you how to be free of the programming of society and how to live more squarely in the present moment. Love & light Cindy

I am an artist, designer and tutor (the fun bits), as well as marketing manager, social media guru, content writer, website designer, photographer, video editor, sales person and book keeper all rolled into one. I love all things magical, mythical and fantastical, which I think creeps out just a little in my work! I like to appeal to the inner child that lurks inside us all and encourage people to allow their imagination out to play once in a while. Here are a few (hopefully) interesting facts about me and how I got here: I grew up in Hertfordshire, then moved around the UK following my studies and my career. I now live near Bishop Auckland in County Durham (North East England) with my partner and my Daisy dog. I was never interested in traditional art at school and honestly cannot recall a single art lesson beyond primary school. I have a Chemistry degree and a Masters in Forensic Anthropology. I am quite an extreme introvert and can happily go days without any human contact. I spent seven years working in Liverpool as a Crime Scene Investigator (CSI), followed by nine years teaching CSI's from across UK police forces and internationally. In 2015, I started making things in my spare time and started selling some of my creations at local craft fairs. In 2016, I discovered fabric sculpting, became the first certified Powertex tutor in the North East of England and began running my creative workshops in my spare time. In 2017, I was made redundant from my role as a Forensic Trainer and decided to use the opportunity to change careers completely and become a self employed 'artist'. (Most of my friends and colleagues thought I was a bit crazy at this point!) Since 2016, I have brought fun and creativity into the lives of countless adults and children through my workshops. I have also put smiles on the faces of even more people through exhibiting, sharing, displaying and selling my creations. And this is what I love so much about what I do now. I love sharing the happiness I get from creating. I love seeing that little smile appear when people see my creations at markets and events. I love seeing the joy and pride people get from creating something themselves. So, thank you for supporting me. Even if it is just by visiting my website or liking my facebook page, it all allows me to continue spreading happiness as well as making me a very happy, creative bunny.
